First Class really only ignored 5 minutes of X3 & 5 minutes in Origins.

As of now, the continuity isn't completely shattered as some claim. It just has a few bumps in the road.

Frankly, the GA of 2013/2014 isn't going to remember any of those miniscule fractures to the continuity. Only we will.

I wouldn't call it a bump in the road that Charles' body was destroyed by Pheonix. And that's really my biggest thing. I don't want another actor other then Stewart playing an older Prof X. And I really don't like that Wolverine was the one to kill Jean and that cyclops was dead. Though Cyclops would be the easiest one to "bring back" or ignore.

Now the prof X thing won't be an issue in this movie, but if Fox is trying to unify the X-movieverse then this film indications how they want to treat future installments, and if honoring X3 is an indication, I won't be happy if we see a DOFP where Charles is being played by another actor because he mind jumped into that comatose dude.

The comatose dude is Xavier's twin brother. So Patrick Stewart can play him again.

It was Patrick Stewert playing the body Xavier jumped Into. The commantary on Last
Stand makes It clear that was Xavier's braindead twin Brrother.

Yep, Thomas Xavier - who's brain was absorbed by Xavier when they were in the womb.

Really? Haha, well one thing I can say then, the X-movies are already almost as loopy as the normal comics in terms of the convoluted ways they try to get around continuity errors. Though does that mean he can walk now? And if it does, it begs the question as to why he didn't do that sooner?

If they keep Stewart around, then I'll be okay. If they still keep that Logan was the one that killed Jean...well, I'm not fond of that idea, but I'll see how it turns out in the movie. Though I would like it if they bring brack Cyclops as well.

Xavier has a whole speech about it in X3. He teaches a class and tells the students how psychics have a responsibility to question whether or not its ethical to transfer their consciousness into a brain-dead body.

And yeah, Xavier can walk now.

Hm, interesting. But really, I'm wondering if they'll even bother all that much with continuity and just take the things they want and leave the rest. I honestly wouldn't mind if they did. Because there are a few things I like from both X3 and Origins. I'm fine with Grammar as Beast, and I'd like to see Liev play Sabretooth in a film that has a decent script.

Agreed.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Creed is the unrevealed mutant trapped inside the well with Logan in that WWII scene.

A cameo like that would be nice.

Seconded. Or course I'd be just as happy with Gambit. :D

Well, I don't think Gambit's been born yet in WWII.

It'd be nice to see him in the present day, but he'd have to be retconned since he'd be in his 60s.

"The cultural qualities that Japan and its people bring - honour, a sense of duty, of conflict - really fit beautifully around Logan. Our film find Logan at a point where he's very much a ronin - a samurai without a master. Anyone he ever had a connection to is either dead or gone.

I really love this quote.

Yeah, that's another one I wouldn't mind ignoring. I'd like to see Gambit, but not old man Gambit.

...Though it would be fairly hilarious to see a 60 year old Gambit trying to hit on Rogue.

And I completely agree about Liev, I would love for him to have a cameo in this film. I just want to see him as Sabretooth again period. He did a great job with what he had, I can only imagine how he'd be with a proper script.

I never cared for Kitsch's performance.

But if they decide to stick with him, all they gotta do is set the next FC film in the 70s and base it on The Mutant Massacre. Gambit met Logan in the mid 70s.

Hell, even Creed could get in on the fun if The Mutant Massacre ever becomes a film.

Well, they could fall back on the Thieves Guild immortality deal, stupid as it was. Not sure you could pullit off realisitcally though.....

I wouldn't mind seeing the trial of Gambit adapted in some form on screen. It would make a good follow up to the mutant massacre.

The Mutant Massacre should be the next event film.

Sinister, The FF, Gambit, Sabertooth & Wolverine battle....

I donno, it was off for the first 15 minutes... then it came on suddenly. And then I got the impression that it was over, and they signed off... now I came back and it seems to be back on.

I'm confused.

Everything linked me to the official site even though it went live on youtube first. Wasnt well planned. Said only 1000 people were watching when it went up. Dont think anyone knew were to go at first. Its about 20 min I believe.
