I love the poster with the city background.. I hate the one with the ninja's.
Which is weird. Ninja's could've been awesome. :P

Pinch me I'm dreaming. Finally they get that it's fine to embrace the comic book costumes. If by any chance we get a Samurai iteration of Wolverines classic costume [blackout]due to his regenerative powers being down for when he faces Silver Samurai[/blackout] then that would be beyond incredible. :hrt:

what the hell is happeing on the city? Is this Days of future past or something? lol

A really great poster definetly, but everyone can tell the Dark Knight/Avengers copy. Still, great move, Fox.

Good looking poster.
Still hope this is Rated R!

it will never be rated R, if you are lucky there might be an alternative uncut version on dvd, but even then i'm not sure FOX would risk that

Why not risk it, it's a known character, known for violence and rage (well in the comics not the neutered film version) the video game was rated R.

This could (maybe should) be Hugh's last full outing as Wolverine, go out with the version fans(not stupid kids) want.

Liking what I see... :D I think I dig Wolvie's hair now more than I do the last time I saw a pic of him. And Wow, Viper looks cool. I wonder since Viper has her own counterpart costume, will Wolvie get his own??

my goodness the amount of people that think The wolverine and DOFP will be the final to this run on the franchise

if this film is a hit they will make another with jackman, as long as these films get the audience and the money FOX won't mind

the reason why it probably won't be rated R is because kids can't see it

those kids bring in the money not the fans

Well as a fan I'm bored with films pandering to bloody kids, just to sell a toy, if other darker characters can get away with a more gritty adult tone/themes so can Wolverine.

Why give him claws if your not gonna use them properly.

If the only version of Wolverine from Hugh/Fox I get is the uncagged game then that blows.

I KNOW it won't be the last, its a huge cash cow for Fox despite there utter lack of caring about the characters in anyway at all.

Yes it will always be aimed at bleeding kids which is why I mostly avoid all the Fox related Marvel films.

As Wolverine is one of my top characters I still hold out in hope I get to see the guy I know from the comics.

I'm sure fox is reading this and shedding a tear, then wiping it away with the money they make from tickets the kids buy to see these films

Considering there were neither toy tie ins for The Wovlerine, just like there weren't any for X: First Class, or kid related merchandise (shirts, lunch boxes, etc, etc) I have no idea why this movie isn't rated R. Smaller budget, big summer release date (no bueno).. a hard R film would actually drive more people to it out of curiosity. Hell, I've seen plenty of 12 - 17 year olds at every single R rated movie I've been too. Doesn't stop them from going.

As far as the new marketing materials, I have literally lost 90% of my interest in this now. Looks just like X-Men Origins. Same glossy/sanitized/fake set design. Viper looks like she's wearing a Comic Con costume. Comic book accurate does not mean it looks good on film. If anyone could have used a patent leather suit it's her.

And those two posters are horrendous. Looks like they hired The Dark Knight Rises designer for the first one and the X: First Class one for the second.

After four Wolverine movies they still can't get it right.

its about how good the writing is not just about sets and costumes, while origins was just about everything else but decent writing

Yes they do have toys.

I think the Japan background poster is great, but the ninja poster is clearly quite cheap. The ninja poster is a nice idea, but it's just done so terribly that it looks cheap. Other than that I'm liking what I'm seeing of the movie so far. Hopefully the trailer looks good too.

Those aren't "toys" in the traditional sense. They are adult collectibles from a high end collectible company. They're even packaged/marketed like them. Diamond Select, Sideshow/Hot Toys, Gentle Giant and Kotobukiya don't make toys.

THESE are toys:

Hasbro launched an entire Wolverine line that is unrelated to the movie. They stressed over and over that it is UNRELATED to the movie. X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men 3 and X-Men Origins ALL had movie toy lines. First Class and this movie do not.

Yeah, I think it's been said already that 'The Wolverine' won't see a dedicated toyline. Though there does seem to be a separate Wolverine toyline that isn't affiliated with the movie.

I don't get those "adult" toys at all, why pay $300 for an action figure, regardless of the detail, when you can pay half of that for an awesome bust!
Some people have way too much free cash laying around.

Plus the detail on that Wolverine is no more than most WWE figures that you can get anywhere.

So the first poster is precisely half way between Dark Knight and the Avenger's posters

and the second poster was designed by a high school freshman art class

sweet
