Batman Begins Nice Coat

Nice Avatar.

Whoosh!
*Wesyeed jumps out of the thread*

But he isn't a malicious Bum... he knows that coat is too valuable to his well being. He would die without it. Even a bum knows a nice coat when he sees one.

A real bum would have sold that coat for a pint of Whiskey.

Lol, is there a such thing?
Sure there is, there is all kinds of bums. I live in downtown Chicago, there is maybe 5 different types of bums. Some are actually really good people, just put in really bad situations.

Lol

Why is the board so dead now, it's Friday. It's not like people have work or school tomorrow :(

I really want to watch BB and count how many times the word 'Fear' is said... I better start stocking up on paper.
I'm not going to lie, I got pretty tired of the fear thing. I know that it was the movie's theme, but I think that it played it's self out a little too much.

Dont you realize? To most fans, Batman is a humorless, soulless character. He's only good for action pieces. Thus, whats a harmless line is now a great crime in batman fandom

I honestly can't think of one single line that made me cringe. "Nice ride" and "Nice coat" didn't bother me at all, and actually still makes me laugh, and gives me chills, respectively.

Me too... but for the wrong reasons.

I think anyone who finds these so-called oneliners annoying are perhaps being bit too "sensitive". Out of all the bat-movies, the "oneliners" in Begins are the least obnoxious. I can't believe you folks are still talking about something this minor.

Well I'm not one of those sensitive dirty people. I said it's nothing to burn dvds over, but not as cool as other oneliners were like the memo one. The Can you drive stick one made me say wtf though.

Can you drive cliche?

Ugh, I mute the TV when that part comes up.

hahahaha . . . this coming from a guy who has the Batman Returns tagline and imagery on his avatar :D

yeah . . . the 'can you drive stick' was corny . . . it could have worked if it wasn't delivered as such a one-liner, I think . . . like if Batman didn't hold the key up and everything, but if he was really serious when he asked the question . . . cuz it's a valid question in that situation actually . . .

all in all I think the one-liners were mostly effective; it's a goddam comic book movie, and it's just gonna have one-liners . . . that's how it is . . .

But it wasn't goddam Ahhhnold sayin 'chill ouwt' and 'cooool it', so most of them were okay by me . . . effective that is . . .

I just hope they don't use the word fear as much in the next one . . .

Then the problem is another, and it isn't effectivity.

Would that really stop you from seeing it? Honestly, when have you have ever said "Damn it! They said this word too much in that movie, it is horrible to me now and I can never watch it again!"

It's a movie featuring Batman and the Scarecrow, so you should expect to hear the word fear in that movie as much as you would hear Chocolate in Willy Wonka.

People are just looking for any and every reason to complain about something. It is quite annoying. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go count the amount of times they say "dream" in Nightmare On Elm Street...

I wasn't really complaining about it . . . this whole film was rooted in 'fears', and that was effective . . . but I just don't want them overdoing it with the next one . . .

Seriously, it's a big-budget Warner Studios comic book movie, and the one-liners are there to stay . . . there's nothing that anyone can do about that . . . I don't want one-liners for the sake of one-liners, but IMO, one-liners can be effective if clever . . . I think it's just that we've been so bombarded with corn in the past bat-flicks that every one-liner makes us cringe . . . as I did, worrying that it won't work . . . but all in all, they weren't too bad is my point . . .

Yes, that doesn't mean we cannot complain about bad one-liners.

The whole point was the lack of any cleverness in some BB one-liners.

Dude, we're not worrying about them, we're judging them like 9 months after the movie release.
