The Dark Knight Nicholson on Ledger playing the Joker

I'm with stupid. I'm a fan of GOOD FILMS and for me, Burton's two films were good films, and so was Batman Begins, in a completely different way. Why constantly compare two pairs (assuming that TDK is good too) of great flims? Despite the fact that both are Batman films, stylistically it's like saying which is better out of Led Zeppelin or Joy Division (say). Both great bands but for very different reasons.

Batman 89/Batman Returns=Cracking films
Batman Begins/Hopefully The Dark Knight=Cracking films

Both completely different from each other.

Batman FOrever/Batman and Robin=Utter drivel

Jack has to stay sober enough to play the Joker, Joker is crazy not an alcoholic/-rtard

But isn't The Joker a smoker? He does so in The Dark Knight Returns and I can just imagine him lighting up in the interrogation room, cockily blowing smoke into Batman's face. But I wasn't aware that Nicholson was an alcoholic. But considering he walked out during Return Of The King I'd say that he must have been drunk. Or stoned. In fact, why was he even at the premier in the first place?

@Contemporary
I have no idea what any of that means, butif I dont get some prince songs and a dancing Joker, I'll riot.

But considering he walked out during Return Of The King I'd say that he must have been drunk. Or stoned. In fact, why was he even at the premier in the first place?

Wha!? Why'd he walk out??

Jack likes the sauce, watch his oscar speech and mtv movie award speech.

If it was, I imagine the movie would have addressed it. Fact is, Bale didn't maintain a consistent Batman voice at consistent times, and it was noticeable.

That's how Keaton's Batman was written. There is that bit at the end when he threatens to kill The Joker.

Keaton never played that character because that character was never written for him. Although, come to think of it, that first scene...

However, he then altered his tone of voice in different Gordon scenes, Rachel scenes, etc.

Well, I can´t judge Keaton´s acting for what was not written for him or he didn´t try to add on his own if that was the case. Comparing the two Batmen I see on the screen, I prefer Bale´s.

It wasn´t a radical difference, nothing that serious, certain people talk about it like he uses a squeaky voice in one scene and a grave one in other, and mostly consistent with the purpose of each scene, he´s not talking to the characters in the same situation every time. When he talks to Rachel in the subway, it´s not the same thing as on the rooftop, when he talks to Gordon in AA´s stairway, it´s not the same thing as when Gordon´s at home.

there's a funny speech where Jack and Bob Dylan are both shiitfaced trying to talk to camera. some award show, I forget which. but it's classic

Kill this thread already. BTW, Get over Nicholson already. 36 pages. Come on.

jack shouldn't worry about it so much. he must think he's actually Joker.

Arent you the same guy that made all those "What do you think about (insert random 80's movie here)?'' threads??

Wha!? Why'd he walk out??

After the ring fell into Mount Doom he thought the movie had ended. And then told Elijah Wood that the movie had "too many endings". Again, either drunk or stoned. What right minded person would walk out during Return Of The King? IT WON 11 OSCARS.

Definitely a joke. Nicholson vs. Bale... um... well, that would be odd and too easy of a fight. Nicholson knows its not a remake, obviously.

It's called sarcasm- can't believe not many hear could see that???

"it's possible to become so defiled in this world that your own mother and father will abadon you. and if that happens, God will always believe in your own ability to mend your own ways. thank you" !!!!!!!!1

Drunk, Jack likes to drink! We should start a "help Jack get back on the wagon" thread over in the misc Bat-films forums

Well it did fade-to-black a few times lol. The theater I went to, the audience actually started clapping on the first fade-to-black, only to realize there was more. Lol.

I like this thread. It's quite active and has become a random topic roulette of goodness to help fulfill the daily boredom bug that is my work life.

Yeah, thank God for this thread.

As great as the film was, the many fade-to-blacks and super long ending was quite taxing at 3 in the morning when I had to be at work just 3 hours later.

When I watch the Return of the King drunk, I usually pass out, maybe Jack was going somewhere to pass out.

I assume Jack's drug of choice these days is probably Viagra.
