He was brutal in All Star Batman. Maybe Batman being a lot more darker in 3,causes a bad influence on Dick. This causes Batman to revaluate his path.

He almost killed Green Lantern and his parents murderer.
He was also pretty brutal in Dark Victory.

If you re gonna base your characterizations and arguements on comics, at least do it using canon, not some writer's elseworld version of the characters.
Miller's All Star is mostly a parody. Miller is probably writing it while he's in the bathroom.

I would like to see the scene where Batman slips Robin his staff.

So according to you, the franchise's future depends on Bale's preferences? :lmao:.

I don't think I ever said that. I said if both Nolan and Bale were against the use of Robin.

Then Nolan warmed up to the idea.

He would probably have to explain to Bale WHY he warmed up to the idea in order to allow him to understand.

IF.

But what would convince Nolan to warm up to the idea in the first place? The probability of that seems rather dubious.

Oh I don't know. I don't think it's gonna' happen at all. That's why I typed IF at the end of that. But it's still fun to think and talk about hah.

Bale still bitter he did not get the role in BF? Lol its a movie that got mixed reactions just like SR is getting. He got a bigger and badder roel in Batman he should be happy.

I think he's laughing all the way to the bank.

I think Bale didn't actually audition to be Robin and the whole story was just an internet rumor.

An Allstar Batman be a great action/dark comedy movie....Batman slapping Robin in the face and all the super heroes wanting Batman's blood and he also public enemy #1 by the cops.

Robin just cannot work at this point. It seems irresponsible in such an adult movie, for the main character(a hero), to knowingly endanger a child(or teen), he doesn't want help either, as demonstrated in TDK.

I'm a big fan of batman, which means robin has grown on me(not like a tumor), I have become fond of dick and Tim(not Damien tho, an I hate rip). The facts are we have seen year 1, the long Halloween, we probably won't see a robin driven story line.

Youre forgetting Dark Victory.

Depending on the writing and Batman's character, Robin is essential to him. Robin helped Batman steer from the dark path he was heading down. Also depends on Robin's purpose.

Batman will probably be in for a rough time in BM3. He will very much feel a true outcast and be under a lot of pressure to keep up his killer act. It will affect him. Characters like Robin and Catwoman will help him.

Plus side. We see new elements to his characterisation, that show he is more vulnerable than we thought. Bad side, he is a wimp, who needs the help of a child and girl. After all, he is the ultimate loner and a damn good tough guy. So he wouldnt need them for help at all.

But as I said, depends on the direction and writing of the story, Batman's characterisation and Robin's purpose.

Robin makes Bruce a human......so he needs someone liek that.

Besides Batman cannot do it all in Gotham he not Superman.

The character has plainly stated he does not want help, he feels it is his burden alone. Iv'e read dark victory, it's jsut not one of my favorites, i'm almost sure he will pick a storyline based on the villains.

I think we will see robin before we ever see catwoman.

Everybody needs help sometimes, wether they want it or not. Even Batman.

I think the situation he is in currently, he will need help now more than ever.

...so?

You do realize stories REVOLVE on the main characters "not getting what they want"? It's called conflict. If everything went their way, there would be absolutely no story to tell.

Batman has also said he prefers to do things on his own when he's in the presence of the ****ing JLA, so it don't really hold water.

Well considering there is no justice league and superman, and all other heroes do not exist, i think what you said doesn't apply(in the nolanverse).^

This is not the comics, it is how nolan has chosen to portray the character, so far it would not fit in at all, he does not need more help than ever, he's stronger now than he ever has been, he has just successfully become the loner we all love from the comics(and as far as we can tell, defeated joker, although i hope two face and joker are brought back), robin is not essential to the transformation of batman(to film), although he may have been essential to the character.

Although I do see some of your positions on, batman cannot be in two places at once, he could feel strong regret, if there would have been two of him than maybe rachel would be alive.

If we ever do see robin, he will be darker than ever, there will probably no red or green, no crazy yellow, only black. Robin is a misshapen puzzle piece, but maybe nolan could chop down the edges, and retain the core of the character, he is a person for batman to talk to, they can relate in the since that they both felt great depression and loss. Now bruce has taken him under his wing much as Ra's did, but he wouldn't be crazy of course.

Although I am unsure if the character would be laughable or a complete Bada**, I wonder if nolan has given any second thought to the character.

But what kind of help can a preteen or teen give him?

There's at least 30 pages worth of posts here that would gladly clarify that question.
