The Dark Knight Rises Jeph Loeb defends robin

Well I guess we will lose Nolan brothers, Bale, Caine, Oldman & Freeman.:o

Freddie would happily take the third Batman film, written and directed by Uwe Boll, starring Jack Black as Batman, if it meant Robin was included. :o

I have plenty of problems with McG. I'm hoping he can redeem himself with "Terminator 4", though.

As for directors, I'd rather that Christopher Nolan stuck with the franchise if they keep on making films. He's done such a great job so far, so as long as he's involved I'd be excited to see what his vision for the ongoing story of his take on Gotham would be. And if that vision doesn't happen to involve Robin, well... too bad too sad.

Nice to see you have some self-awareness, regarding your role in these discussions. :cwink:

its always the dullard that always thinks hes not(sigh) time for your medication Keyser.:whatever:

Yes. The true sign of a dullard is someone who deludes themselves.

Forget what Nolan and Bale say. Robin's DEFINITELY going to be in the third film YEEEEEEEAH! NEXT!

I think that Robin is cool, but when I think of Batman I don't think "Batman and Robin" or think of him at all. I always think of Batman as a lone force, and he can hold down a universe without Robin being a part of it.

Totally disagree, Robin has to eventually be a part of his life!

you guys,

Robin does not have to be the robin that follows batmans lead etc. Nolan can make him be a street orphan who is highly agile and cunning. A vigilante who batman is struggling to control. Eventually they become friends and what not, but in the end they exist in seperate worlds. The father and son relation would remain in tact but batman will continue to move on his own. It can work.

it can work but your idea doesnt, Robin has to be in his life they CANNOT! exist in separate worlds thats completely ridiculous , because everything robin has and is as a Charcter has to do with BATMAN!

Phew, he's finally gotten a silence. And now we can get on with the intelligent discussion:

iamsilvio, I can understand where you're coming from with Batman and Robin being "in different worlds", but if they're both vigilantes who've been through the same traumatic experiance (the murder of their parents), doesn't that put them in the same world?

In short, for someone like Tim Drake, it could work very well. But if Robin is going to be brought into the current movie series, it would probably have to be Dick Grayson, and that implies that Dick and Bruce are in the same "world". It's really a matter of fidelity to the comics, and I feel you're going a bit overboard in the "adaptation" part.

Of course, I'm something of a layman when it comes to comics, so... yeah.
