Nolan introduction on Absolute The Long Halloween

It's ok, but with all the parts taken directly from "The Godfather" and turning the Calander Man into Hannibal Lector I don't see why this is considered one of the best Batman stories of all time.

Amen.

All stories are inspirational, I don’t see the point of it been overrated.

There's a big difference between inspiration and blatant theft. The opening page of the book almost comes across as a Godfather parody.

Tim Sale said:
The intro is a "conversation" between David Goyer and Christopher Nolan.

I'm looking forward to this.

Inspiration is one thing, taking parts and characters from other stories and putting them in your own is something else.

Ultimatefan said it best, like he said "fanboy nitpickism" enjoy it for was it is. I personally love Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale Batman books. oh I almost forgot here's the quote:

Typical fanboy nitpickism. TLH was just as inspired by Godfather as Year One was inspired by Serpico or DKR was inspired by cyberpunk fiction - read Howard Chaykin´s American Flagg and you´ll see where a lot of things in DKR came from, like the TV news hosts and stuff. Calendar Men wasn´t "turned" into Hannibal Lecter, the similarities are vague at best.

I'ts not nitpicking. Like I said inspiration is one thing, I have no proplem with that, but taking scenes from directly from "The Godfather" and changing a character to fit your story is not the trait of a good writer.

I find this laughable.

This I don't agree with. Calendar Man had a big Hannibal Lecter vibe off him in TLH. Batman goes to a psychotic criminal in an asylum, who is behind glass in his cell, and asks for his help in tracking down a serial killer.

Calendar Man is giving Batman cryptic clues and hints in their conversations.

I don't care much for The Long Halloween anymore. And I really don't care what Nolan (says with a nolanite lust) thinks. I'll save my money and wait for a Bruce Timm absolute.

Batattack isn't obligated to state the 'why'. It's an opinion. Now, if someone wants to send you reasons why they think Burton did better, then that is fine and dandy. More power to them. However: let's come out into the open and say that no one is obligated to back up a personal opinion.

The writing and the art.

Loeb and Sale is the best collaboration in comics EVER!

Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman: Haunted Knight
Batman: Dark Victory
Catwoman: When in Rome
Daredevil: Yellow
Hulk: Grey
Spider-Man: Blue
Superman: For All Seasons

These books are excellent.

Thank you. :) I couldn't agree more.

You like All-Star Batman and Robin, so your taste isn't that great to begin with :o

ASB&R isn't finished yet, therefore I reserve my judgement on it till it's done.:whatever:

And you're the last person that should talk about taste. If i gave you cash you wouldn't be able to buy any.:yay:

Heh, yeah, because everyone who likes Nolan is a Nolanite who can't think for themselves, right?

God I am so sick of the personal attacks on Nolan fans and Nolan himself. So he made a film you didn't like - So. Bloody. What?
