Would anyone else like some snow in the Nolan series...?

I feel that...The snow as displayed in Burton's series...Gave it a darker feel...Not "The Dark Knight" dark...But..."Stylized" dark...Like any other Burton film, the feel of his movies are very stylized and extra...And I think snow can provide some "authenticity" and an extra bit of realism...

...Although such a minor and subtle thing...There is no denying it does set a certain tone!

hell yes, snow works especially fantastic in gothic settings which these movies have

There has to be snow at some point, if Gotham's synoniminity (is that a word?) with New York c.1940 is to be preserved.

If that is to happen, then I would love to see a wintery Batfilm with a Christmas release. I understand that this will probably not happen for economic reasons, but one of the elements of the 'feel' of TDK that I loved best was how it's hazy, summertime setting seemed to reflect the real world at the time of its release. Given that the viral marketing, focusing on Dent's campaign for the DA's office, happened in real time, this made the movie itself even more absorbing and engrossing.

If there is to be frost then Freeze would be inclined to be present to fit the theme.

Yeah...Just searched it up...He was never called "Frost"...

To add to my points which you kindly include above; wouldn't it be brilliant to have a real-time viral campaign that terminated on Christmas Eve, with the movie's release? The chronology of the film could span the week from then to New Year's Eve, which would offer a great spring-board for the traditional theme of rebirth and renewal, applied to Batman.

You guys got this all wrong. Ziggyman is just asking if the next movie would have a winter feel.

Yes we know...but coincidentally Freeze plays into that. I don't want Nolan to do Freeze as I think better character can be used.

Nolan can use more than villain, you know?

And... better? Such as?

There was snow in Batman Returns...No Mr. Freeze in sight anywhere...In that film!

Who cares if Freeze can be associated with it. Snow was in BR and snow was in TLH. Neither featured the character.

It's a nice visual element, nothing more.

Chaseter, I love your avy, lol! I just got back from the theater.

...Indeed it is...But it also gives a darker tone...I just love being able to see the breath of people when they talk in the cold...It's a cool effect!:woot:

I think the cold atmosphere of the winter setting could definitely add depth to the story.

Batman has further isolated himself and dove deeper into his work. He has become cold and calculating and slipping further and further from human emotionality. The weather reflects his current state.

That is a pretty cool idea there...He mourns the death of Rachel...There are new villains...He's been outcast as a bad guy by the public...The next film should continue the theme of escalation...At least in the beginning. Really, the cold effects all...Even Batman...

We already have snow in this Nolan series....in the mountains in Batman Begins. :woot:

But yeah, I agree that Nolan having it snow in Gotham would be visually interesting.

Yes but what did the snow represent in that film? The cold heart of the Penguin.:cwink: And if Nolan stays on and does do snow...you better believe that it will represent a character as every set piece, all the lighting, everything had something to do with the plot or a character...it is simply amazing of all the nuances he put into TDK.

Anyone want a Christmas setting?

I'd like to see it in a 4th one if Nolan decided to do 4 just to go against any trilogy talks...At the End of the 3rd have them say It's going to be a long cold winter or something to that effect with it being a nod that Mr. Freeze was going to be the final Rogue for Nolan's batman to face...

I'd much prefer a sweltering heatwave like the beginning of DKR

But we've already had that, as you say.
