Now that Hollywood is seemingly targeting the 90's, what do/don't you want to see?

I'd definitely like that, but I'm just not sure a studio would be willing to pay for a theatrical movie. Most CG theatrical features are sort of broader family films rather than action movies aimed at tween demo.

That's one thing I love about Japan, the variety of genres within their animation industry. The U.S. audience appears unwilling to expand beyond family films or adult comedies.

That's the inherent difference in targeted revenue streams. That industry relies on comics, novels, collectible trading games, video games, and mobile apps.

Some cast suggested here, a while back.
They aren't getting any younger.

Marsala .................?

Thomas Jane instead of Jeremy Renner as Bronsky ;)

if it was like 10-15 years ago, it would've been Ron Perlman.

IMO a Boyd Holbrook type as Alec Deleon. Depends on how you want to approach that character and how young you want to go.

Oh yeah, I can see Thomas Jane as Bronsky.
As far as a Boyd Holbrook type how about the French version of him - Gaspard Ullielas as Alec Deleon, who I believe was French.
Age wise, the cast above, was being fan-pitched a while back. You could probably go younger with most of them.

Still missing Lt. Nara Burns and Marsala?

I miss the classic action movies of the 90's. John Wick and M:I make up for those a little bit, but now when I think "oh, I want to watch some good action", there's only superhero films and maybe the Fast & Furious thing.
I miss things like Die Hard With a Vengeance, Ronin, Bad Boys, Rush Hour, The Jackal, Speed.

A new anime of Vision of Escaflowne

A new Sailor Moon that's good

A new Trigun or a sequel

A Cowboy Bebop sequel, if they can do it without effing it up

More Outlaw Star

More Slayers

More His and Her Circumstances

More Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water

Deleon was French in the show, but he never sounded French or had an accent. So he doesn't have to sound French if you don't want to.

Lt. Nara Burns - A tough, good soldier, but she always had a feminine, nurturing side as well. Like she never came off as being butch or having an attitude. My choice would be Deborah Ann Woll. Or a type like Deborah Ann Woll.

Marsala - Another tough call here. The Neosapiens would probably be done with heavy makeup or CG motion capture in a reboot. More likely motion capture. What I always liked about Marsala was that he was sort of this gentle, eloquent giant. He's a big imposing individual, but he seldom gets angry or loses his cool. He's probably the least violent out of anyone in the squad. I almost kind of want to pick Toby Kebbell based off his work in Warcraft. Not that I think that was a great film, but it's good to have that human performance underneath all the CG makeup.

So I will go with a Toby Kebbell type there.

The point is whoever plays Marsala, he has to be able to have that big physical stature, but capable of sounding really soft-spoken and intelligent. Marsala often acts in a very pacifistic non-violent way.

Beast Wars would be the best direction for the Transformers franchise.

You know what I reckon we’re ready for? A remake of fievel goes west

Perfect time for an immigrant outsider story in an iconic American setting

Man I thought they were done with the 80's, GIJoe, Transformers and the crash and burn of Jem and Ghostbusters, so what's left? Thought RP1 was the last hurrah!?
Oh damn He-Man and She-Ra, Night Rider, Highlander? this never ends.
Where is the -What's left for Hollywood to target from the 80's thread?
A least they've finally laid off the 70's, right?
Sorry 90's, but 80's is not ready to die!

I support the Garygoyles cinematic reboot idea. I don't think Disney would ever go along with it though.

I guess I don't get Disney's resistance to it.[

what they SHOULD NOT reboot is Jay and silent Bob

I’m honestly surprised they haven’t adapted Emily eyefinger yet. You know, the girl with an eye on her finger?

Or Clifford the big red dog. You would think they would be billion dollar ideas by now

A proper animatronics Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles.

Space Jam, but instead of cartoon, cgi, life like looney toons.

The rock needs to do 'Honey i shrunk the kids'.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a con air sequel with Cage - i loved those movies, armageddon, the rock etc - actually a good doomsday flick would be cool.

I thnk they already did your first one

I will love to see a new adaptation of Michael Crighton's Jurassic Park. Film more close to the book.

They've remade the turtle movies from the 90's with animatronics??? cool... show me!!

Oh wait, you forgot that this thread was asking what remakes of 90's films people wanna see.

As you were.

'THE JACKAL' is the one I don't miss. :woot:
But I agree with you. It's gotten better, though, thanks to 'MAD MAX: FURY ROAD', the 'JOHN WICK' movies and 'ATOMIC BLONDE'.
And the 'DEADPOOL' movies actually work as old-school action movies in the 'TERMINATOR'/'ROBOCOP'/'DEMOLITION MAN' mold. And I'm really looking forward to 'UPGRADE' and 'THE PREDATOR'.
But as for non-fantastic/sci-fi-y action movies it's pretty much just 'JOHN WICK' and 'ATOMIC BLONDE' right now... and the 'FAST & FURIOUS' movie.
The problem is: people need to watch these kind of movies more... in theaters! I'm still not over 'THE NICE GUYS' flopping @the box office. :cmad:

I also want this. A TV mini series with a huge budget could be cool. At least a faithful comic book adaptation would be nice.

I can see why 'the nice guys' flopped - it felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be.

It could have been similar to 'american hustle' and 'wolf of wall street' or it could have been 'starsky and hutch' or '21 jump street'.

The 80s aren't done with until Thundercats is on the big screen.

The main one i wanna see is Mighty Max.

But these would be cool too

Gargoyles
Pirates of Dark Water
Where's Wally
Freakazoid

I'm surprised that Speed, Honey i Shrunk the Kids and The Mask haven't being rebooted yet.
