I'd have more faith in the RT score holding strong at 96/97% and everyone reporting here that it was amazing.

Also that Geico commercial that gives the gecko the infinity gauntlet just made me lol.
Yeah, but we're not representative of the general audience anyway; that's a term for casual moviegoers.

Feeling a slight disparity between the premiere hyped reviews and the general audience reviews. Going to try and lower my expectations now.

I think the general audience will just go with it, to be honest. It is an extremely enjoyable movie... if you don’t think about it too much, and aren’t worried about how smart or dumb a plot is. It has flaws, but no one could claim it isn’t a good time in the cinema.

I’m not sure what reviews you are referring too either. Besides a few strays on here all I’ve really heard around the net is how powerful the movie is and how it basically sets the standard for super hero movies.

Hate dislike and differing opinions will always be present with success. It’s just the nature of the beast. Honestly the heavy majority has been going crazy for this film though so my expectations are even higher.

Meh, they all have their flaws, but it's good to know it's ENJOYABLE. Heck, Venom still has more flaws than anything, but it is inexplicably enjoyable. Gracias for an honest review, man.

He was most likely referring to the posts in the User Review thread, but just made the mistake of referring to Hype regulars like us as the GA.

Yep. It's like Spider-Man 2, the train scene. After what is arguably the best superhero battle ever, Spider-man is seen in plain sight by about 50 or 60 people, and they all promise not to say anything. People complained about it and said it totally pulled them out of the movie. Was it realistic? no. Neither was the over 2 hours of the film, if you want to be honest. However, from an emotional standpoint, it was a powerful testament to the character and the story. Peter and Harry's lovers quarrel in the middle of the John Jameson party...it makes even less sense. Harry, although drunk, was all about public image, and he let himself get that carried away in front a camera man for a newspaper? Dumb...but it helped drive home the dumpster fire Peter's personal life had become.

In The Dark Knight, they simultaneously arraign however many criminals at once and hold their arraignment publicly? There is no way that would work in any court, and even the most basic of public defenders would not allow that. The scene where Joker goes into a meeting with the heads of the mafia...there were no snipers or security anywhere? Really?

Those are the best of the best, and they have their flaws and detractors. If we all had a nickel for every time we all heard that Black Panther, Dark Knight, GotG, Avengers, Winter Soldier, or Spider-Verse was "overrated"...we would have a lot of nickels. And I suspect we will all be hearing about how "overrated" this film is long after it's shattered records and become the new standard for comic book films.

Yes, I guess GA is a different tier, I care more about what people who visit forums like this feel as I think they would be closer to my own opinions.

That being said, I'm probably reading too much into some comments. 4 hours to go.... just another 4... I might have a nap, or some food, or go for a walk.

True. Flaws are everywhere in these marvel movies but it doesn’t effect my enjoyment. Hell I’ve heard so many people say they didn’t like age of ultron and I absolutely loved it . A few people post that they didn’t like the movie or that it was solid or whatever and some people get disappointed over it.

I mean how can you wait for something for so long and then be swayed so easily by a few reviews out of thousands that have been so overwhelmingly positive.

I also loved Age of Ultron. It's honestly better NOW than it was when it originally came out...because SO MUCH came from it!

As for people getting swayed by a few reviews, that just tells you more about the person who is swayed than the film. Some people, I believe, just like living in the negative. They look for something to hate about something popular, and they rejoice when they get it. That, or they are total pessimists who just wanted something to be good, but then they also love to say things like, "This always happens"..."This is why we can't have nice things"..."I KNEW it wouldn't be that good"...

The best we can do is not let ourselves get dragged down by that, and just enjoy things.

Sadly, we rather live in an age of absolutes. Something is either perfect or terrible. There’s no room for nuance anymore. Blame social media, I guess.

Yes, Endgame has flaws, but is it also a bloody good time at the cinema, with a few truly well earned emotional moments that you’d have to be dead inside not to love? Yes, as well.

If people go in expecting perfection they’ll be sorely disappointed. It’s not the best MCU film by a margin, but it is a great culmination of 22 movies, and an excellent send off overall.

i just seen the movie, for me there's 3 mvp on this

-the writing (story telling overall, they did masterfully)
-the russos brothers direction (some legendary shot)
-chris evans performance in the third act (he was absolutely incredible, u feel his pain, his anger ,his sadness.......he's extraordinary in this, i never thought he was capable to be at this level of acting.....that's just beautiful to watch him with his suit on,doin his thing.....

this film is easily the greateast comic book movie ever, the russos did that.....congrats to them

Totally agree. That’s pretty much my mentally. I really don’t see how much more positive people want the reviews to be. I remember negativity with Infinity war and that was by far one of the greatest movie experiences ever for me even though I know others might not feel that way. To each their own.

Man, just have to get through 1 more day of mine fields!!! Will be watching this as of 7pm EST tomorrow!!! Cannot wait

Still spoiler free :word:

Friday seems like years away. I can’t believe how slow time moving. Lol. Doesn’t help that I’m watching the clock constantly either ....

But I have to stay strong .....Friday is right there.... I’m in the endgame now Mr.Wayne. :yay:

My screening is tomorrow at 10:55 pm EST. Somehow I managed to convince my girlfriend, who's an elementary school teacher, to come with all of us. I can't wait to cry like one of her students after a bad grade.

No one tell me anything or wink or nod or smile or give me any indication we will get this... but.... I am hoping that the scene in the central park with Tony and Pep talking about kids before Strange interrupts and starts the whole "time line" was indeed placed there for a payoff down the line. :smgs:(Pun not intended but it works lol)
