Yeah. And it had a nice mixture of Batman Begins, Shaman, and even YO a little bit.

The only thing I didn't like was I kinda wanted it to just be one part of a much larger new origin story.

It kinda is when you consider that it's bridging the gap between the 0 issues of TDK and the flagship book.

Oh, they're all going to come together to form one story?

I think so. Batman is about when Bruce gets home and starts setting up. Dark Knight is about investigating his parents' murder.

I don't think they'll be building off each other in terms of plot specifics but yeah they're still supposed to all fall in together cohesively and function as the history of New 52 Bats. Snyder and Hurwitz have both stated in interviews that there is a chronological reading order between them. Matter of fact here's a quote from Hurwitz speaking on it:

"my "Tec" #0 occurs after "TDK" #0, but before Snyder’s (terrific) #0."

So the main Bat-continuity will be established, as:

TDK (parents death/investigation)
Tec (training)
Batman (origin)
Nightwing (Robin)
Red Hood (Jason)
Teen Titans (Tim)
Batman & Robin (Damian)
Batman Inc

They said they were gonna mention why Dick is Nightwing again in #0 a few months back. I hope they don't pretend like that didn't happen.

Yeah they've been in constant communication so B&R and Inc should have some cohesion along the way. Of course this also happens because they have solid editors helping them connect. Bat editorial has been the sharpest in telling their talent "it's ok to open up to each other guys". Pay attention Idelson.

I like how Tomasi's run is not only consistant, but is consistant with Inc as well. He really didn't let us down since he's been on this book. I hope he'll stay for a little while.

Tomasi seems like he's of the few "normies" to actually have a ongoing working relationship Morrison

It looks like more of Batman's classic rogues will be getting some love in Detective Comics with Poison Ivy showing up in it soon

So far I've been digging Tomasi's current run on Batman and Robin so I'm looking forward to seeing how he writes the zero issue of it this month

it makes it very clear that damian has aged normally, and puts his age at around 12 years old


then over in batman 0, it's made very clear that batman has definitely not been batman for more than 6 years

also in batgirl 0, there is no mention of oracle

I'm glad we had this reboot so that things are so much less confusing now

Bruce could have met the Al Ghuls during his training, ala Batman Begins.

i don't think ra's would have considered him a suitable heir partway through his training

plus, it already showed batman (not bruce) and talia getting it on in batman inc.

the whole reason they got together was because ra's tricked batman into saving talia or something

and the bat-suit on toddler damian probably didn't show up pre-batman

Hmm, well I guess B&R follows Morrison's timeline then.

Batman has definitely been around longer than six years

I'm just ignoring anything that suggests he hasn't and assuming its just a case of the writer not knowing what he's talking about

That's more or less the best course of action at the moment.

He'd have to be Batman for at least 11 years.
