The only thing I enjoyed from the #0 issue was the building story with the Kanes. I've always liked seeing exploration of his parents family.

I think I've grown tired of Cappulo's art. He's not bad, but what he does is... boring imo.

he's about to be on detective

jock is gonna do the batman backup

I'm on a strict waiting-for-trade (softcover) diet for New 52-era DC, which means I'm fairly behind. I still read a couple of issues here and there at the library but don't buy them.

It's just such a shame to see Detective become the leper of the main Bat-titles (well, along with Dark Knight I guess).

I really miss those days of Rucka on Detective, then the shorter run of Brubaker. That's the style they need to recapture.

The Dark Knight hasn't been a leper since Hurwitz, and Detective is going to get a lot better with Layman coming on board next month.

Batwoman issue zero was SO good this week :atp:

I liked seeing more of what Kate's training to be be Batwoman involved and i dug seeing her thoughts on her father and seeing that despite everything she does still care about him :hrt:

Birds of Prey was also fab

Starling is still my favourite character in this book. I loves everything about this bisexual bad ass :hrt:

Nightwing was good. I was a little disappointed they didnt show when he actually became Nightwing. They only showed when he became Robin

I really liked Nightwing. But alas, we have another victim in the retcon that is the New52. Pixie boots, we shall remember ye.:o

Batwoman #0 looked like a reprint

of Batwoman #0 from last year :cmad:

there was nothing new, we saw all of this in Detective or the original #0 :cmad::cmad::cmad:

I liked the Red Hood issue but I hated the second part...that was sooo unnecessary

What is it?

The Joker made him Robin.

Joker got his dad killed in jail, overdosed his mother to appear she was dead, so that Batman would eventually find this kid roaming the streets and take him in. This time it wasn't Todd stealing the wheels from the Batmobile, he was escaping from hospital from a beat down on the streets(which Joker planned).
Todd reveals the lazarus pit brought him back, instead of Superboy Prime punching time and reconing events.

It completely destroyed the issue for me. I wonder who's idea that was Lobdell or Snyder's? since it's obvious setup for the upcoming Joker story. Either way that type of contrivance is really unnecessary but the new 52 has been a haven of contrivances all around so it's not even that surprising.

They need to stop letting Snyder think.
