Detective 37 was great, feels like Buccellato/Manapul have found their groove now after the first arc

Oh well, then I really don't know what you're talking about. As I said, this something that's been explored pretty regularly through comics. See the comics I mentioned for examples, and I'm sure you'll find plenty more if you go out and search. It's really not that unexplored.

Had a good time reading through the first half dozen issues of Batman Eternal, but there are some problems I had with it. I like my comics to have a relatively consistent art style and BE is all over the place in that regard. The story also tends to go in other directions and lose some of its focus. Is it still worth continuing despite my problems?

God yes. I have the same problems with it that you do, but it's been a fantastic ride nonetheless. Worth the read.

It is.
The middle is a bit tedious, the art sometimes is a bit "muddy" and strange...but otherwise its really great.

The Overall plot of Eternal is fantastic in my opinion, its really worth continue reading it.

Thanks guys! Looking forward to reading more.

So did I miss something in the new issue of Grayson? It picks up mid story but the previous issue doesn't connect to this one at all. Is there an annual or something that I missed?

Yeah that's what I first thought too, but the story simply begins (i.e. dumps us) like that. We assume Dick and Helena went to Saudi Arabia to pick up that pregnant woman and crossed path with Midnighter.

So, um... About that ending:
"Superwoman?" :o

By the way, the annual comes out on the 24.

No no no, i mean the early years.
Seeing more of his years after his parents death.
How and where he trained, his first nights etc.

The death of his parents has been done so many times, this really doesnt need to be shown.
While i dknt like year one, i accept it to some extent as canon...but seeing other writers do their take on how bruce wayne became batman...would be nice.

Maybe one would create a even better story then miller, i just dont want year one to be a untouched thing forever.

Maybe its because im not a big fan of millers batman work, i dont know.
But the idea of young and new writers rewritting the greatest batman storys for the 80 anniversary(they dont even need to be new canon then)would be a nice idea in my opinion.

Read 'Shaman' and 'Gothic'. They are classics.

So I'm catching up on Batman Eternal (I'm on #21, iirc), and is anyone sometimes irked by Bruce's dialogue/manner of speaking? It doesn't seem to be "him", imo.

How many issue's is Eternal going to be?, I' am planning to pick it up when it's a tpb.

It's a weekly, right? Should be 52, unless they cut it off short.

The weeklies finish both around the same time, and the same month as Multiversity, which is April I believe. Just before Convergence.

60 issues? Damn this is a long series.

There's going to be at least 4 trade paper backs for it.

The first volume was released two weeks ago. It collects the first twenty issues.

Looking forward to see what the omnibus will look like. :hehe:

We've still got a long way to go then. I was also planning on getting it on trades, but it seems so much is happening to miss out on lol

According to Snyder, there will be 60 issues in the series which will then go on hiatus in March 2015.

60????

Thats really much batman eternal...im not sure if this gets dragged out a bit too much.
There were already issues that felt strange and out of place, now another 28 issues or so?
i thought that the final act already started.
But if the story can hold itself up, then im happy for that many.

I wonder if Snyder has an arc planned that will span like 10 years, he's trying too hard.

I still like eternal, but it was, imo, a bad move to already release some stories taking place after eternal is done.

Finished up the first paperback volume of Eternal today. Considering the amount of writers and consultants working on this, I'm amazed by the consistency of the story, and it's a pretty damn good one.

Now the long wait until volume 2...
