CABLE #17

STORY BY Duane Swierczynski
ART BY Paul Gulacy
PUBLISHER: Marvel Comics
COVER PRICE: $2.99
RELEASE DATE: Wed, August 12th, 2009

Hope is lost. Literally—lost in time, with Cable stranded in the future, unable to travel back to save her. For the first time in Hope’s short life, the so-called “mutant messiah” has to fend for herself... and now she's hiding out in a futuristic city born of the ashes of Cable’s greatest enemy, Stryfe.

Hope looks crazy in those previews, I like the art also and her new suit

I have a feeling she's a grey

Like Nate grey, Daughter

I think she's bound to add another layer to the confusing legacy of the Summers. I know a lot of people hate how convoluted it all is, but I actually kind of dig it.

Bishop truly is psychotic. This bloodstorm that is killing the people on the planet and torturing them is a result of his actions. He's trying to kill Hope in order to stop some destruction that he beleives she is responsible for, yet he's already started on that himself

Yea Bishop is so deluded I don't think he realizes that even if he stops Hope from doing what he thinks she's going to do, he's pretty much ****ed everything up anyway.

I may have to get that team up with Hercules. That's just a fantasy team-up of epic LOL proportions.

But three series for Deadpool? Man, he's starting to get a little out of control.

I dont get why they didnt just relaunch Cable and Deadpool as Cable and Bishop instead considering Bishop gets just as much focus in this book. Its as if these two are now joined at the hip

thats true. Before Bishop went rogue he was a forgotten X-man, rarely ever mentioned and never making anyone's top 10 list..other than mine

Yea it is. But as long as he doesn't become watered down and lose what makes Deadpool so great I don't care if he has 100 books a month.

There is obviously a demand for more Deadpool books, it's about time his brilliance was recognized by the masses I think.

This "redhead with green/golden/white uniform" motif in the new preview definitely reminds me of someone! I guess this will end up being just a red herring like the Phoenix reflection in one of the first issues, but these are too many coincidences!

It's an old trick that no one is going to fall for it anyway.

CABLE #18

STORY BY Duane Swierczynski
ART BY Gabriel Guzman, Rodolfo Mariano Taibo
COLORS BY Thomas Mason
LETTERS BY VC - Joe Caramagna
COVER BY Dave Wilkins
PUBLISHER: Marvel Comics
COVER PRICE: $2.99
RELEASE DATE: Wed, September 2nd, 2009

Some call space the “final frontier.” But for time-traveling mutant soldier Cable and Hope — the so-called “mutant messiah” — space is their last and only chance at survival. The Earth is dead, thanks to their foe Bishop, and if Hope is going to make it to adulthood, she’s going to have to do it in the cold, lonely vacuum of space, alone except for dark forces that know she’s coming. Forces which are very, very hungry…

According to the new Cable, its now been 15 years since he left with Hope at the end of Messiah Complex and 15 years later, Bishop is still chasing them. His latest bit of insanity? He's now willing to blow himself up via a bomb implanted in his mechanical arm in order to kill her

DEADPOOL #900
Written by JASON AARON, MIKE BENSON, CHARLIE HUSTON, JOE KELLY, DUANE SWIERCZYNSKI & FRED VAN LENTE
Penciled by KYLE BAKER, SHAWN CRYSTAL, SANFORD GREEEN, ROB LIEFELD, CHRIS STAGGS & DALIBOR TALIJIC
Cover by DAVE JOHNSON

Special SUPER-sized, ACTION-packed 104-page special to commemorate Deadpool’s historic 900th issue! … Wait, has it really been nine-hundred issues…? Who cares! If this collection of octane-infused stories by some of comics’ hottest talent doesn’t make you want to genuflect at the Altar of Wade, nothing will. Thrill as the Merc with a Mouth squares off against probe-happy aliens, trigger-happy mimes and one seriously unhappy fanman – and that’s just half the book! Wince as Wade bares his soul (and lots more) to a shrink who’s got major squirrels in his own attic. Thrill as he travels around the globe and then some to settle a childhood bet. And chill as C.S.I. investigators at a blood-splattered crime scene attempt to piece together why this particular “unsub” needed battery cables, Crisco oil, three stacks of adult magazines and a live chicken to pull off the hit.
104 PGS./Parental Advisory …$4.99
