I haven't written or read in this thread before

I'm almost a decade behind by expressing my opinion. But I still want to drop by here :)

Chris Evans surprised us with his performance in the first Captain America film. It felt like he became the character.
Who would have known beforehand that Cap/Steve could become a big cinematic thing? I mean, it's Captain America!!!
A really old comic book character. A boy scout with a somewhat un-cool suit.
His values belong in the 1940s. Not exactly a superhero that would be a popcultural thing in our days.

For each film after the first, including the team-ups, Steve grew as a character. Evans always stepped up to expectations.

What do you think? Does Evans embody the character to you? Do you see Cap on-screen or do you just see Evans playing him?
