Official Contest of Marvels II Discussion Thread

The show may have been slow at parts, but I haven't been disappointed yet. It's exceeded all my expectations.

Yeah, Heroes has become my favorite new show, followed closely by Studio 60 and Jericho.

Loved Prison Break last season, but this year, it's all just too much. Today's episode had us laughing at the sentimental scenes with the father, and I find myself making fun of all the weekly twists. They've really stretched it waaay too much. But, I'm still watching. Gotta have something to tide me over until Heroes comes on.

Eh, I tried to watch the pilot, but I just had to stop after the first ten minutes or so. Not my cup of tea.

I just bought season 1 on dvd which is the only way I see these TV shows. Hope it will be good.

I have never seen Prison Break, but a lot of my friends like it. Pretty much, the only show I watch regularly is Lost. That is when it is actually on. I will admit to my fiance has me watching Grey's Anatomy every Thursday. Not the best show, but not horrible either. I don't know that I agree when I heard a couple weeks back that its the #1 showin the country. Lost is so much better.

Also, on a side note, I just noticed my other match: Stature(me) vs. Apocalypse. Oh well, there is o debate from Apocalypse yet, might as well put one up for Stature. I apologize for me just now debating. I have had two projects, a test and a paper to work on this weekend. I turn in the paper and take the test later today, I can't wait to get those behind me. I am glad I got one up before you had to leave Ahura:xmen:

Thanks MI for getting the match up. I posted a rebuttal but will not have time to do much more. I take a flight in about 4 hours and will be in meetings from 10 am (CET) onwards tomorrow.

3 1/2 hours left to debate!

After watching the first episode of Heroes, I wasn't sure how good it was going to be; but, I think with most people, if you got to episode #3, you were hooked. Last nights episode was absolutely great, and my only disappointment will be when we have to wait weeks and weeks for a new episode to air.

Shows I watch:

Sunday: Amazing Race
Monday: Prison Break, Heroes, Studio 60
Tuesday: Gilmore Girls(Oh, shut up!)
Wednesday: Jericho, Lost
Thursday: Survivor

Then, I'll watch the HBO shows when they come on. Right now, though, it's been quite a while that HBO's had anything on.

Just so everybody knows, I am visiting my mom for Thanksgiving this week, so I will most likely not have any real access to the interweb and won't be able to get my debates up until Saturday night.

I watch Heroes on Mondays and Lost on Wednesdays... and that's it. I'll randomly sit down and watch something with my wife, but more commonly I'm mocking the show from the computer.

Oh, and why do we have to wait weeks and weeks to see what's going on in Heroes? I know next week is a flashback episode, showing how everyone got their powers. Is there a hiatus or something following that?

Well, three of the serialized shows I watch, Lost, Jericho, and Prison Break, all won't be on until February after their "fall season" is over. Lost, as you guys know, is taking a 13 week hiatus. So, since Heroes has been non-stop since it began, I figured after next weeks episode, they might do the same...or show a bunch of repeats.

The networks have pretty much learned that airing repeats of these shows is bad business. Those of us who have been watching the show really don't need to go back and see a repeat. And, if you're not watching the show, then you really aren't going to get very many new viewers by airing a repeat. (I know the Nielsen numbers for repeats of Lost were just horrible, something like 3.6.)

Prison Break may come back in January since the ratings have been so good.

Get media centre, fully programmable recording straight onto your hard drive. I don't even watch shows when they're on anymore, just record whatever I want to watch and burn what I want to keep. It works with sky and with my 360 networked I can control it from the other side of the house. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!

The thing is... those are the only two shows I WANT to watch. I just hate watching TV.

And on a side note... we all feel happy when someone that annoys us gets banned... but try to stay professional here in the CoM. I've said from day 1 that this is a gentlemen's game, and it goes for general conversation too (though it'll slip at times). Keep the anti-whirly stuff elsewhere. Cool?

Wow. Most of these matches look like they will be decided by the time the day is through, especially Thread 1. Thread 2 is about the only exciting thread to watch.

I think both of my matches for that thread are tied. The excitement is killing me. I say we wait for one more vote (for me) and then close polls. Deal?

Jew, I like your sig, the next two times I was gonan vote against you, I'll vote for you:up:

Hey guys. Wouldn't you know, the minute you make a new rule, you find a reason to possibly make an exception.

Anyway, I've had a member of the hype, Overman27pj, interested in our little contest. I let him know that signing up wouldn't be available until next season, but he can vote, of course. The only problem is he only has 55 posts, and is mainly a lurker. I explained the rules about having to vote in all the threads and reading all the debates for the week.

So, since he's not a big thread poster, does anyone have any objections to letting him vote with less than 100 posts? It doesn't bother me, as I he knows what we expect from the voters.

no, the main reason for that rule was people not taking the time to read the rules. Since he now knows the rules the issue is mot. Let him post
