Official Contest of Marvels II Discussion Thread

Yeah, last season it was a problem. It's just not worth the hassle. Get everything you need to say out in the open during debate time.
First off, a thank you to Phaed. Secondly: It's no excuse, but I figured I still had time. I'll keep it in mind for next week though.

And from the second CoM thread:

And a note to Harlekin... If I'm reading your debate correctly, you mention that this version of Zemo is up until the Civil War story because it came out prior to the contest beginning, but we made a rule specifically omiting current storylines, and Civil War overall has been considered not included, including the offshoot storylines. So Zemo would only be up until the issue prior to the Civil War issues (102?). I'm not sure what issues the Civil War issues are, or even if I understood your statement there, but I thought I'd just throw this out there just in case.
That would be #102 yes, I guess. I still don't think it can be considered a current storyline though, since it was a simple tie-in arc to the CW, and then moved on to the subplot-conclusion it had been building too (the Grandmaster contest) for the last year or so. I'm fine with ruling either way, I'll just have to take Thunderbolts #105 off my feats list, and show that the stuff he does there should still be possible considering Moonstone can do it too, and Zemo has shown far greater control.

seriously, I'm like a ****ing donkey

6000 posts! WOO! I have a bigger penis than many of you! WOO!

But clearly a vey pathetic social life...WOO! :D

I actually think you're slowing down in your old age. When you first got on The Hype, you were posting so frequently, you could have been at 10,000 by now.

ah experience :)

Now i actually formulate complete sentences in my head before typing them. Tends to slow the process down but also serves to prevent you posting messages that you don't know how to...

ZEEEEEMMMMMOOOOO!!! :(

I've been robbed, I tell you, robbed!

Zemo feat list:
New Thunderbolts #12
(1-1, 1-2) Revealed to be behind every little thing the Thunderbolts have gone through in the past 12 issues, including their manipulation at the hands of the Purple Man. After the Purple Man is defeated by the T-Bolts and left in a form of catatonia, Zemo teleports him away somewhere in time and space.

New Thunderbolts #17
(1) Create a forcefield to protect Baron Strucker from the new Swordmaster.
(2-1, 2-2) Further revealing of manipulation.

New Thunderbolts #18
(1) Monitor Songbird and the Radioactive Man via spacial rifts.
(2) Walks through a door in his castle to a lab in Manhattan.

Thunderbolts #100
(1) Controlling Blackout's dead body.
(2) Controlling Moonstone's catatonic body:
2-1 Using her to incinerate Nighthawk's mansion.
2-2 To blast away Mach-IV.
2-3 Phase herself through the T-Bolt's attacks.
2-3 Stop missiles in the air.
(3-1, 3-2) Teleport the other T-Bolt's into one of Moonstone's molecules, and thus in the Microverse, which he can manipulate.
(4-1, 4-2) Revealing that it was he who brought Genis back by reaching out in time and space and providing him with photonic matter, drawing matter from the Big Bang at the start and end of the universe.
(5) Opens spatial temporal rifts to show Genis what kind of destruction he will cause.
(6) Trap Genis in a single moment in time.
(7) Severe his physical form, bring it into different pockets of time and disperse those throughout the Darkforce dimension.

Thunderbolts #101
(1-1, 1-2) As shown, Zemo's self-created "Folding Castle" has spacial openings to real places from the real world, all patched into the castle.
(2) Show Songbird the many possible futures as well as the past.
(3) Revealed that Songbird and Zemo have trained in the Folding Castle for more than six weeks, without time having passed in the real world.

Thunderbolts #105
(1) Negate gravity around Daredevil and Hercules so that they levitate in the air helplessly.
(2) Shows that he does not need to be physically linked to the moonstones to control them when Redwing grabs them, before teleporting Redwing, Falcon, Hercules and Daredevil to New Jersey.
(3) Increase the gravity on Captain America's shield, forcing it to the ground.
(3) Decrease his density and phase through Captain America's attack.
(4) Reveals he has retrieved Captain America's old locker from time, which contains all of the artefacts of Cap's that Zemo destroyed during the Under Siege story arc as he and the Masters of Evil defeated the Avengers.
(5) Gives Captain America a key that will allow him to escape from prison, any prison, through use of a spatial interface.
(6) Like he has given the T-Bolts' a piece of the real world in his Folding Castle, he has plucked his father's old trophy room from time.
(6) Shows that he can use the moonstones to change his appearance.

Zemo hates you all, and I with him!

:(

[evil laugh]Mwahahahahaha!!![/evil laugh]

I told you I was gunning for you after Mandarin's unbelievable loss!!! :sym:

Seriously, though, hell of a fight. I didn't expect to win.

I'm so glad Man-Wolf won, I knew I wasn't gonna be able to vote for him.

LOCATION: Wakanda

Wakanda is a fictional nation in the Marvel Universe. It is one of many fictional African nations in the Marvel Universe, including Azania, Narobia, Halwan and Murkatesh.

(I wanted Wakanda's population to be around; but, as many of the warriors would probably not take too kindly to having intruders in their midst, I will say no human population. Of course, any other predators, such as any tigers, would still be lurking in the surrounding forests.)

Good debates this week, Kytrigger, Ahura, Harlekin, and Wiegeabo. I knew my original three matches were probably going to all lose; I'm still surprised I got 2 extra votes on the Magneto/Rogue match-up.

Good match Phaed. I was starting to get pretty worried yesterday on the Magneto/Rogue match.

Good debating by Hippy and Hellstormer too. I like that Hippy was kin denough to concede defeat to Exodus, somethign that I'm way too big of an ******* to ever do. I figure, if I'm gonna lose, I'm gonna make youall read 4 damn pages first (ie Vertigo vs. Kurse) :woot:

I certainly did not forget that battle ;)

And good one Phaed, sorry I was not present guys but I just flew back today and I had an extremely hectic week.

I would've pulled out some of those feats (with scans) if I had foreseen this loss.

Guess we're even now...

ZZZZEEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :(

I"m calling Zoken-luck on Squirrel-Girl because she could be Caliban with her Nut-Sack taken away.

and I'm just plain pissed over Dusk Vs. Madman, but I guess I can see how somepeople might think she'd be at a disadvantage.

Hmmm...maybe we should trade Mandarin and Zemo's loses and give up Hisako and Man-Wolf. ;)
You know I would take you up on that offer in a second. :p

And a comment on the Doorman match: Considering he's now the avatar of Oblivion, and Deathurge was previously that, and Doorman now resembles Deathurge (except he still has his white eyes and stuff), why not assume that Doorman has access to the same capabilities and weaknesses?

Because when you assume, it makes an A.. out of U and ME (I don't cuss, even in typing, how lame :))

But as far as I'm concerned, if the owner wants to try and debate that they can, but nothing official can be made about it because it's never been shown to be true. I doubt I'd go for it, but it's up to the owner, not us.

Just letting you guys know that DarkHellRider contacted me and says he's going to have to drop out of the competition. Since I'm at home, I don't have the Round 2 schedule as easily available. If anyone has a chance, could you see what characters he has that are still around?

Thanks.

Wow, that sucks. I'll have to look them up, but I'll have it here in a few minutes.

And Phaed, are you starting to feel the bane of doing so well last season like I am? I have 6 matches! That sucks!

My problem is that in reading about Deathurge, Doorman has never shown that type of personality or traits. It's kind of like how Apocalypse will make different versions of his 4 Horsemen. Each time, each of the new versions of the 4 Horsemen are different, depending on their previous personalities or previous powers. In this case, Deathurge is completely different in personality than Doorman. (Plus, as I've read, Deathurge's weapons work on people who have a yearning to die, which makes them ineffective against most everyone in this competition.)
