The Dark Knight Official Critics Reviews of TDK

I don't believe TDK was the best action movie ever, I would go with:

3) 300-people killed when they had to

2) Batman Returns-Awesome story with PROGRESSION of Bruce Wayne

1) Gladiator-Now that was a real hero
LOL you're a loser.

I'm still willing to guarentee you that it'll be nominated... and probably lose to another %$#&ing Coen Bros. movie, why this year, guys? Why?

It wouldn't bother me that this film doesn't win an Oscar, because if there are better films, then credit should be where it's due, but it'll be more than enough for me if this is actually nominated. The nomination(s) alone will break barriers for comic book/graphic novel adaptations. These films will start to be viewed as legitimate and quality films as opposed to films for teenage boys.

So far, we have had no comic book/graphic novel adaptations that have been critical panned in Summer 2008.

I see your point, and it would make for the third installment to try and raise the bar much further to try and win the award, if they are nominated this year, and fix everything that people felt was wrong with 'The Dark Knight'(except for the people who felt it was too dark, go back to watch 'Space Chimps'), that is reasonable, not: "Oh, Batman didn't... make sense." Stupidest example ever() but, it'll hopefully due. Anyways, if they fix the little errors with 'The Dark Knight' and make that into a third installment, it will surely be known as 'The Best Picture of the Year'. But again, I'd really like to see 'The Dark Knight' plow through the Oscars this year to open more folks eyes to the awesome-ness of comic-book films.

LOL you're a loser.

Oh class very nice. If you don't like what I am writing you could be a little more contructive rather than write "you're a loser"

But think about this, we are BOTH on the Batman Message Board. So instead of going out solving world problems we are writing about a fictional movie.

So that makes your ASS as much or more so the loser I ever thought about being.

The only problem they are gonna face is casting a really good villain.. I can trust Noland and company to come up with a good story line... But getting a villain to equal Heath's performance would be really difficult.. All the reviews praised Heath for his performance..

Yeah, but the majority of the critics who praised 'The Dark Knight' also gave Eckhart much deserved praise as well, I even heard some of you claim that Eckhart should also be nominated for 'Best Supporting Actor' along with Heath Ledger. I don't think you're ever going to find two powerhouse performances like Ledger and Eckhart again in any comic-book movie, period. They just delivered and it's going to be nearly impossible to surpass. But, I have faith in Nolan and I'd even go as far as saying he should do a 'Daredevil' reboot because he's proven himself to be such a great director of these crime-epics in general that now I honestly cannot look to anyone else.

I feel bad for bale.. Al his performances go un noticed at the oscars.. The guy was amazing in American Psycho,The Machinist,Rescue Dawn and 3:10 to yuma... all this roles of his were Oscar deserving..

I don't why would someone be a loser if he liked these movies.. I liked 300 and gladiator... and i'm sure so did many other people on this board..

I just got back from watching it and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.
I had low expectations going into the movie because of the previous Batman movie. It bored me.

Overall, I thought it was an excellently executed film.
I liked the theme they gave the movie and the moral dilema Batman faced. It added more to the movie than explosions ever could.

He had to chose whether to reveal his identity and possibly save lives or keep it hidden and cause the deaths of numerous people. He was willing to reveal his identity to save the people, but was thwarted in his endeavours. Though, in it's own way, it is kindda cliche because alot of superheroes nowdays face the same moreal dilema :/

As for the acting, I thought it was proficent. Heath's acting was superb, down to every last detal - the way he licked his lips, the greasy hair, smeared make-up and depraved gleam in his eye. He's an intelligent criminal only looking to defeat Batman and restore anarchy to Gothem.
If I ever return to watch it again, it will be solely because of him.

As for Bales acting, I thought it was exceptional. I like that they made his voice indistinguishable from his other identity. It just makes more sense...to me, anyways. I found his acting as Batman to be less corney than the previous Batmans', but I guess it also depends on the Director.

*Spoilers*
They made an excellent twist in killing off Rachel. I really didn't expect that and I like when movies shock me in that sort of way.

Because the screen at my theatre was really dark, I had difficulty distinguishing the action, but what I did see was very well done.

I also liked the way they brought about Two-Face. The special effects were amazing for his face. It almost creeped me out, but also riveted me.

There were, however, parts in the plot that confused me. Several of them, actually.

Overall, I'd give the movie 9 jokers out of 10.

I wonder if or who will replace the Joker. I dunno if anyone can pull it off quite like Heath.
I'm anticipating the next movie!
It's my favourite movie next to the Iron Man and Superman Returns.

It was definately a dark movie. The theatre was jam packed with people, but I had the best seats because I came an hour early
Like they say, the early bird gets the worm.

You didn't like batman begins?

Most of the hype of this movie was built up cos batman begins was a great movie.

well how could he say he found batman begins boring when he says he like superman returns? that was the most boring "blockbuster" i have ever seen!!

There's a thread for fan reviews, which you should've post there instead of here. This thread is for critics' reviews.

I'm expecting 'TDK' to hit 8.6 pretty soon on the overall score since the positive reviews just keep on coming.

Richard Roeper said TDK should warrant a best picture nomination.

Gary Cogill said if TDK came out last year, it would have beaten 'No Country For Old Men' for best picture.

Jeff Goldsmith said it deserves a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination.

Man, I hope it can do it! Hopefully!
