Spidey may have been the superhero box office champ, but the new box office king eats spiders for breakfast. Bigger box office + Better reviews = Batman owning Spidey's emo dancing ass!!!!!! WHOS WITH ME?????

Hurray... The most intersting character in comic book history finaly having the best movie (although I already considered the begins for the best in the genre) making the BO smash in deserves. But we cant forget one thing: Spidey did make superhero movies very profitable again (Xmen 1 was a first try but with no superduper numbers)...

Is sooooooooooooo good to be a batfan again...

sorry... double post

Doesn't that make the person more of a loser than we are? :hehe:

It seems a ******ed web site from a marvel fan boy with way too much time to spend. It's a ******ed guy. We should not even provide the link. It should have zero visits... Why do people even bother. It's something stupid. This is no war: marvel vs Dc. Batman vs everyothersuperherothathasamovie... I do prefer Bats to others, but I do see other comic book films, and if I enjoy I admit with no regrets at all. In 2005 because os the lack of Spidey BO numbers, people were just bashing bats. Last year, after a disapointing fan/critics reviews people just bashed the spidey series. This year IronMan did way better that anyone expected and peolple just praised how good it is. It's not the BO that makes a movie good or bad. The thing that is amazing with TDK is that quality did pay off really great this time. The non comercial apeal of TDK did made it fresh and unique and not just another superhero film. Amen to Nolan and Warner for being so bold and taking the risk of making a hell of a movie. This time people responded. History is taking place in front of our eyes.

I think you missed the point about what he stands for.

He never killed Ra's either. Ra's was on a monorail that was about to crash. Batman didn't tie him up or anything. He just left him to save himself.

THe joker didn't fall off the building. Batman pushed him off which is why it was different. He had to save him or how is he different from the Joker.

Samantics Bro,
Batman was fighting for his life. He was dazed and was not in total control of the fight. All he had to do was let him fall and he would not have to worry about him anymore (until they brought him back somehow.)

Batman beat the hell out of Ra's and he knew the monorail was going crash and kill him. He also knew Ra's didn't have any rope or a batarang to save himself.

As for the Joker, Batman came to the conclusion that he was a lunatic and would kill again and again. It makes no sense to save him in so that he will kill again. Subjecting others to the same fate he faced as a young boy.

Let me ask a question; What if it wasn't Heath Ledger playing that role (a lot of emotion was tied to his part for obvious reasons)? Let's say it was Jim Carey, Russell Crowe, or the Rock. Would you feel the same way about Batman not killing this out of control killer?

Well, the pendulum is bound to swing the other way eventually. I agree that SM3 wasn't very good (emo Parker gets no love from me), but Batman also isn't without its embarrassing moments either (can we say "Bat nipples"?). TDK is a superb movie so I'm glad it's doing so well, but if we get a terrific Spider-man sequel in the future, I won't be surprised to see TDK's record get broken someday.

I don't believe TDK was the best action movie ever, I would go with:

3) 300-people killed when they had to

2) Batman Returns-Awesome story with PROGRESSION of Bruce Wayne

1) Gladiator-Now that was a real hero

Gladiator was WWF with pretentions and leather skirts.

Interesting,

Gladiator won 5 Acadmey Awards

1 Award was for best costumes

Some of the costumes were good. Particularly those of the Praetorian guard, and Commodus' costumes throughout. I like the film, but it's pretty simple, and not something that really needs to be rewatched too often. I'd say that Kingdom of Heaven was stronger, in many ways.

It's tough to argue with 5 A.A.'s

And I could watch Gladiator over, over, and over again.

The story was awesome and charecters died at the end.

Sure it is. I don't agree that a film deserves the Oscars it received. Bam!

It didn't have anything to do with The Dark Knight. You said it's tough to argue against a movie with 5 Oscars. Of course, an Oscar win never amounts to anything to one person unless personal opinion matches it.

:o

No, I understood. I respect your opinion about Gladiator but I threw in the same point about Batman. Everyone seems to believe this is the greatest movie ever made but I didn't like the end at all. I am going against the grain much like you were doing.

I wonder if Jim Carey or the Rock were Joker would everyone feel as strong

Ahh, gotcha.

If they were amazing performances, then yes. The majority of people aren't raving about the Joker because Heath Ledger portrayed was chosen to portray him. People are raving about the Joker because Heath Ledger poured out such a tremendous performance. If Jim Carrey or The Rock were chosen and poured out a tremendous performance, it'd be no different.

If a movie like 'Gladiator' could win 5 Oscars with a score like this:
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/gladiator/
Imagine what 'The Dark Knight' could do at the Oscars with a score like this:

The Academy is biased, but is slowly breaking out of their elitist attitude. It'd be amazing and groundbreaking if The Dark Knight was nominated for something other than a technical Academy Award (Visual Effects, Sound Editing, etc.).

I see you like your action movies with missile strapped penguins.

How did Bruce progress in that movie again? He sure seemed like the same 'ol Bruce that he did in Batman '89 especially his inability to strangle his need to reveal his identity to women he's known for a few days at most. That's VERY Bruce Wayne/Batman to me. Not like you would know the character that well anyway since you like yourself a murdering Batman.

I'm still willing to guarentee you that it'll be nominated... and probably lose to another %$#&ing Coen Bros. movie, why this year, guys? Why?
