I would love Cyke to get the role he deserves! I always thought he was a great character. Unfortunately Singer never cared for Cyclops much...always shafting him to the side. I would hope at least in this flick he will play a pivotal role, especially in regards to Jean.

I don't think Singer didn't care for Cyclops. He showed that he knows the geist of Cyclops' character in X1. Cyclops, you have to admit was treated a hell of alot better in that film than X2.

He showed that Cyclops can lead his team competenly at Liberty Island. He showed that he had a strong relationship/studentship/friendship with Xavier.

It's in X2, where he had to cut alot of Cyclops ''best" stuff he had planned. Like him meeting Angel there, and a small ''escape" scene with Xavier that was actually a hallucination of Xavier's due to the powers of the Mastermind-lite son of Stryker.

If there's any character that Singer has showed he just does not get the geist of it's Storm. But that's for another thread, preferably Ororo/Halle's.

In Singer's defense, I think he did in what he could do for Storm in X1 and X2; in fact, in X2 her role was big enough, so I don't understand why people are still complaining about her screentime.

Singer's mistake was that within the context of X2's plot, he didn't know what to do with Cyclops. It's a shame really.

Nevertheless, I like Singer as a filmmaker. Howeve, I DO question some his ideas (Like in Superman Returns...Parker Posey playing a character named Kitty? NO, not Kitty Pryde )

Alright. This thread has inspired me to not hold back anymore. I'm gonna tell it like it is from now on. Tell what I exactly think about certain things. In all honesty, I think I've been sugar coating my responses and holding back some of my worries about thIS film, cause I don't want to be dissappointed May 26th.

Don't get me wrong, I'm expecting a good movie still, but...I have worries and from now on, I'm not gonna sugar coat my responses about them.

I contructed this thread for Cykes so people can let out their frustrations without spreading it everywhere. It would be a crime if Cykes died.

Here's the thing: People who would say "Characters die all the time". are mindless sheep. When you see this movie, and Cykes doesn't get any props, you WILL question it. I'll question it, critics (In whom I don't care) will question it, and the mainstream audience will question it. If people question it, it's a BAD decision that DIDN'T work out in the movie.

That's why I didn't want this movie to be rushed and FOX should of waited. Because it's being rushed, they have this very ridgid schedule where it's almost conflicting some of actor's other schedules (McKellen, Stanford, Marsden, Jones, Jackman, etc).

SO if Cyclops gets a bad treatment, let me here someone give out a good justification of that. Give a good reason. Most people won't buy it because it's stupid and we know the 'inside' story behind it. It wasn't a creative decision; it was because of a scheduling conflict and a possible political move made by FOX.

I'm just thinking some people (not here ) won't care until they actually see it. And if things turn for the worse, it will AFFECT my enjoyment of X3.

Singer could've easily given Cyclops a bigger role in X2 so i actually DO blame him for that. I'm sure you've heard the audio commentaries on the film. Didn't they say something about how they had this whole subplot where Cyclops was being held prisoner by Stryker and in the cell right next to him Angel was being held and the two would've had multiple scenes where they talk to each other from their cell? At the end, when the other x-men showed up, wasn't Angel supposed to explode from his cell and we see his wings and everything for the first time? THAT could've been Cyclops' story easily and it always bothered me that they didn't do that.

I think somebody spotted him in one of the set reports. He's supposed to be a part of some climatic battle at the Jean Grey residence.

Alas, I don't think he was actually seen, I believe his name was simply listed as being in the film. That part wasn't clear. I hope if the young lady in question does spot him, she makes mention of it.

His wife did recently have a new baby (about a month back), so when he's not required onset, he may be spending a lot of time in his trailer on baby-duty.

I love Logan..but he's a woman-stealing man. Honestly, Cyclops didn't do anything wrong. He may have been uptight and serious, but he means well. He's a good guy, and now a hairy jerk is getting in his way?

Cyclops is Jean's boyfriend and Storm was her best friend; center around them! Logan doesn't know Jean as much as they do. So if X3 had a scene where Logan gets the 'girl' that would be a crime actually.

Are you talking about the movies or the comics? In the movies Wolverine just came into the picture like 'yesterday'. There's no way he can claim to have the same level of closeness to anybody living in the mansion as much as Cyclops or Storm can, especially when we're talking about Jean.

Cyclops has always been my favourite character and the first two movies were dissapointing because he never had enought screen time and they didn't show him much of a leader, They also don't show the close relationships he has with Jean, Storm and Professor X. He has hardly got to speak a word, so this time round I'm hoping they'll develope Cyclop's charcater in some way. He is an important part of X-men, and it's a shame to see a such a good character not being put to use.

This is something I actually worry about with this film, the story is taken from the Phoenix saga for crying out loud. They have not established the love story between Scott and Jean in the "movieverse", so what angle will they use to bring Jean down from her "Power Trip"? From all the hints it looks to be Xavier. So what does that mean for Scott? Well more shuckin and jivin I'm afraid, but at least he got to be a dick, and most men can tell you that isnt all bad!
