Cyclops is my favorite character in the comics, but he's so pitiful in all 3 movies. X-Men 1: Be strong leader, tell Logan to stay away from your girl, shoot Magneto. X-Men 2: Get ass kicked by Deathstrike, turn evil, cry over Jean. X-Men 3: Cry over Jean some more, find Jean, die. That's like his whole character arc! I don't think Bryan Singer or Brett Ratner had respect for the character, which is a shame.

I don't think he's too bad in X1. After that it all becomes a joke pretty quickly.

The fact that it's not visible on-screen is really one of the few good decisions they made, I figure. That way it's easy to believe he's not dead, maybe even bring him back later (not that they ever would, given how little they think of Cyke).

They could of still handled Cyclops better than that. They could of easily said he took Nightcrawler back to Germany and for some reason they couldn't get in contact with him when Jean Grey returned. He comes back at the end of the movie when everything is over and with the death of his mentor and girlfriend (again) and mutants pretty much being accepted he could of easily said that there is nothing in the school for him anymore and give the school to Storm.

i prefer have him in a lame role on the Phoenix Saga than the lame "oh, he's on vacation, let's not bother Scott". If it was for him have no role in it at all, i'd be more pissed.

Yeah, he's not THAT bad in X1, he shows potential but still comes off as an ass in some scenes. But in X2, he's just treated horribly and X3 just finishes X2's job.

duh, thats what i wanted too. But given all the restraints imposed by FOX, i still prefer him IN the movie than out.

doing a "dark" phoenix story with out the involvement of cyclops is complete disregard to the original saga .. i understand that you can not translate everything 100 percent from comic to film .. but main elements of the story should carry over .. like the mansion being located in westchester.. magneto's helmet.. cerebro .. scott and jean !!

You must know that Cyclops was practically nonexistent in the original story of God Loves, Man Kills, but I agree, they should have given him more to do, though he kicked ass with what he was given.

i had the strangest dream last night.... a lot of it was lost but i think i was either watching a dvd (prolly the x3 dvd) and i dreamt that at the end credits they did a little promo of like coming next.. no footage just logos and there was one for "Weapon X" and then "The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix" .. i remember thinking to myself, yes fox has rectified their sins and there is justice in the world... n then i woke up

Ratner:God...I know we should have given up on this character! Cyclops is too much intelligent a character for me and Fox to handle! That's why we never be able to explore his potential, coz that'll make us look even more dumb! Why can't we all only have to use brainless characters like Wolverine? All I need to do will be just letting him show off those claws and cut off everything!
