Oh my god thats great thats X3 lol. and the ''my friends' that reminded me of endsong.

Nice work. It shows the team acknowledging Jean and her disposition.

That's very interesting about Penn, a lot more makes sense to me now.

The comic looks beautiful Vilya, I really hope to see it in its entirety at some point, terrific job!

I'm not sure if it's common knowledge that Penn had an issue over credit for X2. He was pretty bitter about Mike and Dan getting the 'glory' for X2's success. Over on the Xverse Penn did whine about it and discuss some of his ideas that were rejected. Considering how absurd some of them were, I can see why they went in a different direction. As Fox was already in a legal battle with David Hayter, maybe they settled with Penn before it also became an issue.

As for X3. Now we all know that Fox's management was upset over Bryan's defection, so why not hire someone who also had an ax to grind with him?

Everytime i hear these things i keep thinking X3 was a but a bad F U at Singer. :csad:

Because that's what it was. :csad:

Unfortunately that is very much the case. :csad: :csad:

James- One of these days Bratner I'm going to get nominated for an Academy Award. Along with being nominated I am going to win and when I do win, I'll pull a Halle and will actually do a better job with the material.

Brett- WHATEVER! ROTHMAN RULES!!!! THANK YOU X3 FANS FOR SUPPORTING ME AND NOT RECOGNIZING THE FLAWS IN MY FILM. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! WOOO!!!

James- When I win an Oscar I'm going to demolecularize your "directing" career fatty.

I caught a segment on ET tonight about Rush Hour 3 being filmed in Paris. They were doing a stunt on the Eiffel Tower and it was Jackie Chan who was directing the scene while Brett just stood there eating.

Eating? He must be really hungry to abandon his job, but I don't care about either of them anyway.

He couldn't even make a comment to the reporter because he was busy chewing. Jackie coordinated the scene and when he was about to do the stunt then Brett yelled 'Action'.

I've heard that the cinematographer and the second unit director did most of the work on X3 and I can believe it.

Not to poopoo anything here, but for Jackie's stunts, he calls the shots, doesn't he? Isn't he always listed as as stunt coordinator? Would you rather have a stunt coordinator calling the shots rather than the director? Jackie does things his way and he calls the shots, particularly in a field where he knows a hell of a lot more than pretty much anyone on the set. In this case, Jackie was the director and Brett was merely a spectator, which is as it should be in the case of Jackie's rather dangerous stunts.

Yeah. I'm not so sure your name is Cheryl anymore.

In some ways you right. I don't know if Jackie is the stunt coordinator, but I do know that he choreographs his fights and other martial arts aspects.

He did mention that since he's getting a lot older and the stunts have taken a toll on his body, he uses stunt doubles and would rather let his body rest instead of destroying it like he used to.

But you're pretty much half right in that department.

Okay, maybe you are Cheryl. Just the way you sprout out ''insider" information, screams Gina, Gina, Gina.

The infamous Gina that everyone's always talking about? Nope. I'm not sure why you'd think that. For one thing, I'm able to contribute to discussions without becoming verbally abusive. :woot:

When have I given any "insider" information? I think the things I mention are common knowledge to people who've been following this production.

Or things that are assumed to be common knowledge really.

I'm sorry, I just tend to get a Gina alert alot..I've been the best of friends with her, and the worst of enemies with her and learned my lesson.

A few pages back someone asked about the audio commentary and whether there's any discussion of Jimmy in it.

Actually, yes. When Jimmy first appears, Simon Kinberg says that "He's barely in it, but Jimmy gives a great performance" to which Brett Ratner responds "Oh definitely. Second by second... per capita, it's the best performance in the movie." :word:

However, I'm currently JUST past the scene where Cyke was killed, and there's been one other moment in the commentary that really bugged me...

According to Penn, when Storm says to Xavier that "There's something you're not telling us," everyone assumed she was referring to the cure. However, he says that actually, he's referring to the fact that Xavier has psychically sensed Jean's return! Holy CRAP! And you thought that Xavier was a jerk for dismissing Scott so easily before because he didn't get over Jean's death in 8 months... now he apparently knew everything about Jean's psychic activity (which might've given him a hint as to what was going on with Cyke, you'd think) and just didn't care!

There are other fun bits in the commentary so far, too, such as Ratner copping to the fact that they just used footage from the previous films whenever they show an exterior of the mansion (!) and Zak Penn and Simon Kinberg admitting that they have no idea what the exchange between Logan and Storm at Alkalai Lake is even about (!). Man, how much were they flying this thing on autopilot?

I don't think that Xavier actually knew that Jean survived. I think he felt something. But I doubt he blatantly knew "Jean survived the ordeal at Alkali Lake"

I think it was a mixture of not being totally honest with the X-Men ("There's something you're not telling us"), and the fact that he didn't have all of the answers himself, he just knew that something was up.

Someone was friends with her? :wow: I'd need a scorecard to keep track of who's friends with who and which people are on each other's shat list and that's just too much work. :woot:

Back on topic. Marsden was screwed over by Fox management and Penn & Kinberg have admitted it. They've opened their big mouths in public forums defending themselves to the angry fans. "Don't blame us. They made us do it." I can't imagine Fox is too pleased those two have exposed what they tried so hard to cover up.

Hugh'sMrs said:
it seems as if they didn't even see the first two films and Zak & Simon's comments about the exchange between Scott and Logan in X2 just confirms that.

What did they say

Thank u friends, your encouragements drives me forward.:cwink:

I finished the audio commentary with Brett Ratner, Simon Kinberg and Zak Penn. There's only one more mention of Cyclops in the film, and it comes at the end when we pan across the gravestones...

Zak: "You know, some people, some of the fans online feel like we should've given Scott more of a tribute... "
Simon: "Well, they're Scott fans."
Zak: "Right. They're Scott fans."

And that's it. They immediate segue from that into how pissed they are about Beast going to the UN instead of staying at the school, while Ratner tries to defend it.

There is one other hilarious moment in the commentary, though, where they mention how one thing they disagreed with the fans on was how much they loved Halle Berry's portrayal of Storm, so they said they increased her role because of how much they liked her. It's amusing that they acknowledge for the whole world to hear that most people didn't like Halle in these movies. Plus, um, I thought her role was increased because she demanded it? Maybe they're just trying to be diplomatic, whatever.
