I really would have liked to see more scott and jean together scenes in X1,2,3 .

Fanfic can make that happen, and with your drawing ability you can help bring that to life :)

It's New X-Men #150 or something around there.

EDIT: #154... 150 is the last issue of the Planet X arc (which is a fairly important read!)

EDIT2: Some context for that little frame... Emma finds Scott at Jean's grave and tells him she wants to reopen the school, and Scott brushes her off and walks away, which ruins the world apparently, so Jean changes the future by telling Scott to LIVE... and they go back to that scene and instead Scott kisses Emma and they rebuild the school together.

Hmmm, but didn't she want to scratch Emma's eyes out? Wouldn't it be easier for her to just come back herself and set the timeline straight instead of letting her arch nemesis have her man to herself? :)

I was confused reading Here Comes Tomorrow, too

I think most people where i was i like read things twice to understand it, you think comics would be straight forwarf but not X-men lol.

Too happy, too complete. Can't have that. :P

Good point. If you make it too easy, if you just let them live happily ever after too soon, there wouldn't be any more stories to tell :)

That's what breaks my heart more about Phoenix: Endsong... when Jean says to the Phoenix, something like 'he doesn't want us - he wants her'... Jean sacrifices herself and her love for the sake of the world.

And then at the very end when she says goodbye to Scott... ugh, just breaks my heart.

My final impression was that she wasn't really giving up or "dying". She used his optic beams to send her back to the white hot room so she could complete her mission. I believe she was trying to find all the scattered pieces of the Phoenix and put them back together again? And that she'll be back.

I think the one key missing here, the one that Jean really wants to see but Scott's too chicken to show it (yet), is to chase her and let her know how badly he wants her. She's been chasing him all his life, she'd love nothing better than for him to return the favor. I'm sure she'd give in if she saw he was trying hard enough. Logan probably understands that and would be a good person to point this out to 'Slim. i.e. "you want her back? show her just HOW BADLY you want her back. Chase her, corner her, catch her, don't let her escape"

Oh, yeah, I didn't mean that she's dying... she's going back to start over again, or something like that.

They'll keep their promises. It'll take a while, but this way the final victory will be that much sweeter. I seriously don't see the thing with Emma working out or lasting long. As good as she can be at times, it's just not the same thing. Besides, doesn't the rest of the team deplore her? Scott's had the "real thing", no substitutes will do. Not even messing with the timeline can change his mind, haha.

Well Emma was revealed to be controlled by Cassandra Nova without her even knowing it (well, she knows now) and I'm pretty sure Scott/Emma are over for the time being...

Scott and Emma were different, though. I like her, and I liked him with her. She's way mellower, she's unapologetic, and she's got a great sense of humour.

Kitty doesn't like her, Beast would seem to hold her in high regard, and I think Wolverine just hates that Scott has moved on so quickly. I'm not sure how Colossus feels about her.

And Scott still loves Jean, but I think he loves Emma too... just in a different way. I don't see him ever becoming engaged to, or marrying Emma either though. Well, I thought that even before the most recent Astonishing arc.

Oh yeah, she's great. She can be all snooty and mean, but when it's really important she does show those saving graces. But she hesitates to show humility and compassion, unless it's extremely important or she's been through something frightening or traumatic. She's just not as naturally sincere as you-know-who.

Is she a teacher or does she just help run the business side of the school (ie paying the electric bill, etc)

Yeah that's what I mean. It's not that kind of trusting, bonding long-term love. Plus They're both the leader / dominating type so it'd get into conflict. There's something about Emma that... doesn't feel right. Hard to describe. Kinda like when you really truly love someone, everything about them feels right. The way they hug or hold you, the way they feel when you have them in your arms, the way the two of you click together. That doesn't seem to happen between Scott and Emma. Plus she doesn't seem like the kind of person he can truly drop his defenses around and let go and pour our his troubles and feelings. Emma would treat that as more of an annoyance and turn-off.

I felt the same way when reading that i was like she has a sad life and can't have want she wants, but yet she still saves everyone for her love of them.

She hates the bills; Scott does them. She teaches Ethics, among other things (much to Kitty's dismay).

Scott says, when he's getting drunk with Wolverine in the Weapon Plus arc of NXM, that it was good when he was with Emma because he felt like he could say whatever he wanted. He's not afraid to show Emma his neuroses, but he always wanted to be strong and perfect for Jean. (spoilers for the most recent Astonishing arc)
Plus Emma is the one who walks him through his mind and makes him remember the truth about why he can't control his optic blasts... and now that he's discovered it, he's in an apparent coma with his eyes wide open with no beams coming out of them.

Oh the drama!

Jimmy sighting!!

Just got back from the 7:15 Superman Returns at Grauman's Chinese
Theatre. James Marsden was seated in front of me with a male friend of
his. No one seemed to notice him other than me and my friend. (Is that
cause he isn't really famous?!) He was wearing a Red Sox hat and his
hair is long, but looked pretty normal and fit in. Also was wearing
jeans, old plaid button down shirt, and distressed black leather
boots. He was also in front of me in the Box Office line, and I was
complaining to him (and I had no idea who he was at the tme) about
waiting in such a long line after purchasing tickets online (what's
the point to buying online then?) and he was pleasant and agreed with
my unhappiness.

man! I wish I could bump into him randomly... I wish I was older when X1 was filming. I totally would have randomly hung out around filming locations.

I know...except, I probably would've gone all fangirl, and missed the entire movie, lol.

Oh, absolutely. He must really like that movie... that's his second accounted time seeing it, lol. Bolster the box office performance on his own, perhaps.

Haha, that's awsomeness! He probably agreed with you because he knows what it's like to be online too. It's nice that he keeps his feet to the ground like that and knows what it's like to be one of the little people too instead of living up in the clouds.

I would have loved to be one of the extras on the set :)

I guess that's another reason I like James....seems just like everyone else in normal life instead of being unapproachable out of the screen.

When I browsed through some websites here I noticed a guy said he went to see SR because of Brian Singer and "James was the most shining support character throughout the whole movie, if it wasn't for his build, this guy should be the leading man."
I am glad most people here have noticed James, the only little problem is that all of them keep calling him Cyclops instead of his real name.:p
