You have to understand too, it's also for kids. Bay talks about it in the commentaries all the time. He doesnt make these flicks for adults...he makes them for children, or for people who can watch it, and bring out the child within....

Kids love stupid **** like that. "Hahah...the robot pooted!" It's childish. But kids eat that **** up.

Plus, it works for them after a scene of decepticons EVAPORATING INNOCENT HUMAN BEINGS. It's a lot less tramatic. :hehe:

But it's not executed well. To where it makes someone like me roll my eyes. The problem is Bay makes it so in your face. He's alienating people with that. Shrek is a movie for kids and adults. There's humor that makes adults and kids laugh. Yet the farts in Shrek are more for kids, I still get a chuckle out of it and it's tolerable. I don't want to think of it as, "This is just for kids, this part." It should all be mixed into something where none of us think about it and all age groups enjoy it.

Am I the only one who likes Sam Witwicky? :o

Shia has always done a great job with this franchise especially with what hes been given. The movie rests on Sam the whole way and he showed alot of range in this one. Cant picture anyone else pulling it off. I know Im repeating myself now but just wished there was a better balance between him and the bots. Think I would have cared for his character a bit more.
I wanted him to knock Dempsey the **** out we he slapped him and stole his chick. Was definitely voting for him.

i like what shia brought to the role and he was great as sam... but his character arcs (if any) are really ignored.

its like spielberg gave bay a note saying "sam struggles to be domesticated after having saved the world and living an adventurous life".... and bay got it and did nothing with it lol

same with the "boy and his car" theme spielberg handed to him for TF1

its everyother human thats either horrible, in the wrong movie, or bland (josh duhamel)

poor josh, maybe if he wasn't playing the role so "straight" he's at least be talked about like the others.

then again, maybe if everyone played their roles as straight as josh, we'd all love the movie

Well...it is...but it's as you say, it's in parts.

Ass shot for horny teens.

People getting decimated, and real danger for adults.

And childish humor for 12 year olds.

It's been that way from the start.

Did Dino die or did I completely miss that?
No, he survived.
I'm assuming you mean Green Lantern. It makes me sad that I can't argue with that statement since I had so much faith that movie.
Yeah, I like the first 20 min though. Maybe we will get an extended cut. Ive heard alot was cut character wise. Dont know if that would help it.DOTM puts out in the end. Green Lantern didnt.

I liked Sam but I think he should've become either an official member of the military similar to his G1 counterpart Spike did as an adult or at the very least created the headmasters. IMO Colonel William Lennox is more like Spike Witwicky.

Yeah, the Headmasters. That's a beloved G1 storyline we can all get behind.

I think Sam's arc played out fine. Boy hero going to lengths to save his friends in the first, reluctant hero whose faith and patience in the Autobots is tested as he reluctantly learns he can't lead a normal life and goes through hell trekking across Egypt and struggling through a really terrible movie to save the day, and finally struggling to go back to that normal life he once desired after having confirmed his role as hero, and finally getting to murder another human being -- which would make anyone feel awesome.

funny parts

Sam kicking his car 40 times only to have the now smug as hell dylan walk in to the fame was hilarious.

I also liked when he told the interviewer that he got a medal from obama only to find out they are conservative.
It should be obvious what bay actually is at this point.

I just watched it.
C-
Its like Super Nachos. 1200 Calories that taste yummy as you begin chowing down but after 4 bites something feels wrong, your stomach groans but you keep eating. You go to the bathroom but its too late. A new layer of fat has been added to your love handles, tortilla feces has been glued to your intestine forever.
It had some promise, the initial plot is interesting but they had to drown it out in needless over the top side characters and action fatigue. I was actually falling asleep during the final 20 minute action scene.
I'll watch more Michael Bay movies but this will be the last transformers(or BadBoys) I'm watching.....EVER!

yea but jackass is supposed to be silly
Transformers is supposed to be serious
big difference.
JackAss3D was not only more entertaining than transformers3, but it had better 3D.

No it didn't have better 3d although I thought Jackass had the better 3d than Avatar and they're entertaining levels are two different things. You can compare Transformers to other action movies but you can't really compare it to Jackass. That's a horrible comparsion to whoever started it.

really he's not on there anymore?

I'm not sure how often you listen but I'm sure you know he's been gone from audio reviews for over a year now. At Spill Dot Con he announced he was leaving ACOCO because of his movie and novel projects. He said he'll come in from time to time when he can but officially he has left Spill. Sad to see him go but glad to see him doing what he loves.

These boys had nothing but praise for, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Something seemed off.

Go back and listen. They never said it was a good movie. They just said it was so stupid and funny you might as well get drunk and laugh your a** off while watching it. It seemed only Channing Tatum wasn't in on the joke of what kind of movie they were making.

They praise some of the action in TF3 but they hate everything else about it that the action just wasn't enough for them.

It seems like this movie while its criticisms can mostly be justified and it all ends up on your taste in movies but it seems like if this were the second movie it would be getting more praise.
