Ugh. So I guess tomorrow we'll get all the reviews then. I want them now.

hard to say what will happen
it's obviously a better film, but there are still critics of whom it is not good enough.

I still think this will settle around 70ish.

70ish would be great. Even more so considering neither one of the previous 2 are at or above 70.

I look forward to his rant.
it's his shtick after all.

Looks like /Film liked it.

Cool, its looking good through most the popular movie sites.

Good thing is everyones seeming to agree the last hour is non stop ass kicking action and the 3D is actually worth seeing and paying extra for.

It's kinda fascinating, in TF2 it seemed like the final action piece was an after thought, plus they had to haul ass out of there.

With TF3, they really buckled down and spent what seemed like weeks blocking and staging what might do down as one of the greatest continuous action pieces ever. Seems to be impressing some people. I want to see how the audience responds to it. And all the twists the film supposedly has.

that means nothing until the film cast boys have their say lol.
I hope they invite armond white back.

looks like
Simon Miraudo of Quickflix strikes again. This is the dude that first brought First Class down.

Saw it tonight at a screening, its definitely a step up from part 2. Some problems ive had with the series still exist and the stuff that works has been hugely expanded on. The 3D surprsingly looked great accept for a few shots where the action moved so fast it was hard to keep up.

Overall 8/10

he took a shot at the maltese falcon while he was at it. pure class.

Just found out that my average local theater is having a 9PM screening tomorrow. I'm bouncing off the walls excited since they did a similar thing with the first one and it was a blast.

Did you by any chance catch who was credited as Shockwave? I heard that they were trying to get the person that Corey Burton based his Shockwave voice on.

Yay! Is it as good as part 1?

He said it's a bad movie, but not horrible like ROTF. Said not to expect a bile-filled review.

His SUPER 8 piece was one of the most spot-on critiques I read of that film. The stuff that worked allowed me to enjoy it more than him, but the alien elements and overall thematics were an utter mess.

Honestly, I don't have a horse in this TF3 race. I strongly disliked both previous entries so, obviously, I'm not expecting a whole lot to engage me in DotM.

I'm always up for surprises though...

Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune, one of the most dependable critics around, has weighed in with a 1.5 star review:

"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" exceeds the low expectations set by the previous outing, "Revenge of the Fallen," if only by a whisker. Both films serve primarily to make the first "Transformers" look like a classic. All three, taken together, which they should never be, appear designed to make your children more addled, volatile -- and, most dangerously, to make them less discerning consumers of summertime junk. Bay's hammering technique works, in a commercial sense. Executive producer Steven Spielberg is the richer for it. But it's telling to compare any good minute in Spielberg's "War of the Worlds," for example, with any of the 153 minutes in "Dark of the Moon." The former, which isn't even Spielberg at his best, offers the thrill and the uneasy, complicated spectacle of destruction you get from a first-rate entertainer. Bay's endless love of nastiness and chrome and aggression offers less. And that's the only "less" about it.

It is a bad movie and I thought about as bad as Revenge of the Fallen. Why are you guys so eager for critics to like this one? I don't get it. Do you think it will validate your love for the movies as well as your anticipation for this film?

We have a bingo!

I'm just saying, people liked Revenge of the Fallen regardless. I think Dark of The Moon is an equally terrible film.

The editing for this movie is terrible. Awkward cuts and transitions just like Green Lantern.

Do you think giving the movie bad reviews will validate the hate for the series it already has?

In the end, who's "right"?

That's not my point. We have posters here thinking, yeah the reviews are going to be good this time. The critics will like it this time too!

Looks like we've got another "split down the middle" movie here. Some critics like it, and some critics hate it.

Cinemablend review. 3 outta 5. Now at 63% on RT.

Small quote from review...
Sure it’s far too long, a little exhausting, and it doesn’t really seem to contain any actual characters let alone a story for them to be in. Those of you worried whether Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whitely would be able to replace Megan Fox should have remembered that. She’s not in this movie as an actress, she’s a posable action figure for Michael Bay to slide his camera over. The robots are only set pieces, the men primarily placeholders who stand and fire guns. More than either of the previous films, this Transformers 3 feels like an ultra-violent version of the two-dimensional cartoon it’s based on. I think I’m almost alright with that, when it’s done this well, in this kind of summer blockbuster. We’d probably all be happier watching another movie like Inception, but as long as those movies still get made, I guess there’s nothing wrong in sitting down with a Transformers: Dark of the Moon, once in awhile.

i just got back from a imax/3d screening.

it was a lot better than 2 at least, there was a ton of the Bay cheese and it was a little long but there was HEAPS more action thank god.

RHW cant act to save her life but she looks damn good in tight dresses which i guess was the whole idea.

there was some 'weird' comedic moments where people were looking at each other in the audience like... WTF?

there were a lot of similar/familiar bay transformer action phases though, ie running through ruins, lots of falling things, glass all over the place, US army/spec forces slow mo's, etc so nothing much 'new' - although i must say they totally outdid themselves with soundwaves machine with the tendrils etc, epic.

probably the most amazing thing was that RHW's white top managed to say clean as a whistle....

7/10

Haha Cool, good to hear you enjoyed it for the most part. Was there more development for the robots this time? Did you notice if the new
red robot was called Mirage or Dino?
