I'm just extremely happy that this was Michael Bay's last Transformers film.

The guy is a complete moron when coming to character development, meaningful plots, casting, etc.

Del Toro, Jackson, and Cameron have stated interest in taking over the franchise in the near future *crosses fingers*

I would love to see what Nolan, Abrams and Boyle could do with the franchise as well.

^They have? Cool.

I don't think Nolan or Boyle would be interested. Abrams would be great.

I know, but Nolan was seduced back into the Batman franchise, and recruited for the Superman reboot. It's not completely out of his range. I know he's going to be busy with a biopic and another sci-fi film, but you never know.

I am in film school and I had a friend who went to see the movie and was mad about it. He rattled off all manner of technical reason for why the movie was terrible. I asked him if he watched porn.
He said yes.
I asked him if he examines cinematography, framing, lighting, pathos, storyarcs or directing while watching....he obviously said no.
I told him that these movies are cinematic porn.
There is a reason why its called a popcorn movie. Popcorn has no nutritional value. No one examines popcorn. You eat it as a snack.
This movie is no different.
Yes I liked this movie...but I went in knowing it was gonna be a snack.

That's a great excuse for settling for the bottom of the barrel. I love this trend in America of people not only accepting, but being outright proud of their stupidity.

So you can't have visceral action and thrills (which are fleeting and forgettable- hey! just like porn!) AND an emotional core (which resonates and makes the audience FEEL something)? Huh. I guess Pixar and Chris Nolan (among others) have been doing it wrong all these years! huh.

Enjoy justifying your soulless, brainless and empty movie-going experience!

:yay:

Honestly where can they go with the franchise based on the final out come of the film ? [blackout]Megatron and The Decepticons are all but destroyed, Cybertron appears have been ripped apart by the incomplete teleportation by the space bridge's destruction .[/blackout]

Oh, Del Toro definitely Jake. He'll be directing 'Pacific Rim', which something similar to Transformers (except it involves monsters in mechanical suits).

Nolan's not directing Superman. Producing a film is not the same as directing it.

Chamon...Unicron.

Meh... reboot. I think we can all agree that Bay didn't honor the franchise the right way. It'll be another 5-10 years before we see another Transformers film, so (hopefully) we won't have the bad memories of this trilogy haunting us.

Del Toro will never touch this. Even if he's interested, he's involved with too much. Plus, god damn him for never making Hell Boy 3 when he could.

If it's true that Cameron, Del Toro and Jackson are interested, I'd go with Del Toro. As long as he gets Ron Perlman to do a voice. :woot:

I know, he's got his plate full (I think I heard 25 projects) :csad:

So I am stupid for lowering my expectations for a movie in a series that has provided nothing more than explosions and CGI.

I was entertained by the movie and I will be damned if I have to justify that to you or anyone else.

Not everyone will agree with that Doomsday.

True, but judging from what 70% of fans and critics have stated about the trilogy, it's a pretty safe bet that Bay's attachment to the franchise was a tremendous letdown.

If anyone did a more accurate Transformers movie it would be 10x worse than anything Bay has done.

Nobody will ever make another TF movie that will be 100% faithful. There will always be changes.

Me too, Del Toro seems to be the better fit. I wouldn't mind Jackson either.

fans and critics have been out numbered by the GA....fans dont matter anymore...its why studios arent going to Comic Con anymore

It doesn't have to be more accurate -- it's just needs a better storyline and character development.

I mean, he literally f**ked up (in every sense of the word) Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, The Fallen, etc.

How'd he f'd them up?

Furthermore, he killed off some characters because he thought either they were annoying, or because it would be 'fun'.

I'm fine with that since I've never really cared about the Decepticons that much anyway. :woot:

Jazz's and Ironhide's deaths are the only ones that pissed me off.
