The Avengers Official Easter Egg/Reference Thread

Lol, dude as a studio writer trust me I know the layout. It's how the scenes lay out that it seems like one giant movie when editing it together. Hard to explain. All coincidence, but the minor details match brilliantly.

Cap/Iron Man ADDING have a seeming running joke: "I thought it'd be bigger/taller."

i noticed all the other eggs, but check this out....

just after Nick Fury asks to see Hawkeye in the beginning of the movie, you can see a NASA banner on the left next to a s.h.e.i.l.d. banner. on this it says "project pegasus" which has to do with teleportation. Dr. Andrew D. Basiago is a current whistleblower on pegasus.

both are in the same spot...

also on this banner is j.d.e.m. Joint Dark Energy Mission. this was an idea by Einestien in exploring the 95% of space that we did not yet explore

does anyone have any idea where
Budapest comes in during the Black Widow/ Hawkeye story?

It kinda makes sense that the big daddy film wouldn't go heavy on the easter eggs like the others, but the stuff that made it were fun.

The number 42 was plastered everywhere. About the only Easter egg I saw upon my first viewing

Not so much an easter egg...but Stark's tower with the "A" on it at the end is clearly a nod to the Avengers Mansion...and I think it's probably going to be the Triskelion.

the news bits at the end kind of hinted at the registration act, that's all i can think of at the moment

Anybody managed to check if the AIM thing i posted is something? I'm going to see it again Tuesday followed by another on Wednesday. It could be nothing but I just couldn't make it out.

it's mentioned in the film that they are disguised as shield agents over the pa system i think. i sort of like how loki's force pre army is like a mission impossible team.

SPPPPPOOOIIIILLLEERRSSS!!! Let put all (if any) the easter eggs that appeared in avengers here.

Pretty sure that was AIM providing Loki with muscle and brains.

I loved the homage to The First Avenger when Cap throws that guy out of the plane.

The brand company that made the bracelets that Stark wore for his Mark VII armor had its logo on one of the buildings during the battle of New York.

when thor lands on that rock with loki (after thor nicks loki off the quinjet) there are two ravens. hugin and munin? odin's ravens?

I didn't notice any easter eggs and it sounds like there was a reason for that. Kevin Feige isn't a huge fan of them.

"I find that they're distracting. Joss finds that they're distracting. Frankly we want Avengers to work as its own movie, as a part one. If you keep saying 'Oh look, it's Janet Van Dyne!' everything collapses. I took out some Easter Eggs in Thor because they were getting too [involved]. Selvig would go 'I'll email Dr. Pym who knew a guy named Banner.' It was too much!

"When Tony Stark throws up the screens after Coulson gives him [the dossiers on the other Avengers], those are Easter Eggs for people who haven't seen the other movies. They're clips of Thor and The Incredible Hulk and Captain America on those screens. Those are the Easter Eggs."

Tony telling Coulson he was a Life Model Decoy on the phone.

Georgi Luchkov --- the general that Black Widow interrogated: actual minor villain in Black Widow's comic

Sen. Boynton --- seen during the end TV news montage complaining and mistrusting the Avengers: real life Iron Man foe

Shawna Lynde --- actual minor character from Thor comics

I'm still waiting to see an official full cast listing to look for more easter eggs; one in particular I'm curious about is the second SHIELD agent that Loki mind-controlled at the beginning to aid in his escape from the NASA facility. He picked Hawkeye because he sensed great power and skill (or something like that) in him, and he also picked the nameless other blonde guy with the shades. There's *gotta* be a reason Loki chose him, too....I'm thinking that's a "name" SHIELD agent, like Clay Quartermain.

how I wish they had hired andrew garfield (spider-man) for just one scene of him taking photos of the destruction in new york. there would be no copywrite infringement and it would have made me very happy.

What about Tobey Maguire? He needs work and it would've stuck it in Sony's ear.

The Life Model Decoy was the only one as well as all the Black Widow's past passing references.

Those were the only ones that I knew off the top of my head. Some of the others I know now after looking them up.

Problem with that is... why the hell wouldn't he be doing something to help?

Andrew having a scene with RDJ would be

I didn't spot any Easter eggs to be honest, besides the end credits scene. Makes sense I suppose. Everything was leading up to the Avengers so there was no need to plug The Avengers in "The Avengers"!

Oh wait, I thought I saw Neil Patrick Harris as Agent Sitwell. Was I the only one? Maybe it wasn't him then.

the movie would be set in real time continuity so garfield wouldn't actually be spider-man yet, the spider bite wouldn't happen for another 2 months.
