Official Indie Music Thread

Interpol went on a break. They each did their own stuff but they are back together now and will have a new album coming out.

Oh my sweet Jesus! :awesome:

I heard Circa Survive's new album leaked, they're Indie in my eyes.

Anyone has ever listened to The National? They're new album is coming out on May and it's been years since I highly expected an album :woot:

I get really really sad when an indie band breaks up.

I've been busy and I just found out a band that I liked, Mika Miko (an all girl noise punk band) broke up late last year. With that band, and The Blood Brothers, I feel old despite being 26.

The sad thing is that both bands, or Mika Miko had broader appeal, were great bands with a cult like following. I just wished their success grew a bit more.

So what artists are people looking forward to hearing new albums from in 2011?

Elbow - Build a Rocket Boys!
TV on the Radio - Nine Types of Light
Wild Beasts - Smother
Battles - Gloss Drop

Also, new Memory Tapes and My Morning Jacket(Which I really hope is better than Evil Urges)

^Ooh, didn't know that TVOTR or MMJ were releasing new albums...certainly can't wait now.
I don't know if I would consider them indie or more folk, but I really can't wait for Fleet Foxes' new album :D

Looking forward to the new My Morning Jacket and the new Battles

I'm interested and excited for the new Battles record, what with Tyondai Braxton leaving. I won't miss his vocals too much,so i'm hoping for some more songs in the B EP/EP C vein.

I've only started listening to indie extensively rather recently, even though I've always liked an indie song here and there. One band I've really become a fan of are Arctic Monkeys. Loved the vibe of Humbug, dark and so different to their very first album which got me into them. I must say that I think 'My Propeller' is probably their best song yet. I also listen to Interpol and I really dig some of their songs such as 'The Heinrich Maneuver'. I really like Franz Ferdinand, as well as a couple of songs from Maximo Park. Another band that comes to my mind right now are Mando Diao. Anyone remember 'Down In The Past' or 'Dance With Somebody'?

Tried for tickets to a My Morning Jacket concert in LA...it sold out in a second, and my tickets were in my cart already. :cmad:

New kills album was great. Sad news about TV on The Radios bassist dying of cancer

Wow...that is so awesome...I met The Kills and got a pic with um last tuesday...such an awesome band

Most definitely...Win is such an awesome guy by the way. I hear that he offered fans to play some basketball with them and a separate group of fans were offered to play Blackjack with him...the Blackjack people denied his invitation.

Cool, I'm not too familiar with The Kills (love Monkey 23 though) but I do love me some The Dead Weather. :hrt:

Win seems like such a nice guy...im extremely jealous...im goin to see Arcade Fire saturday :) (pit tickets!)
Blackjack people were obviously ******ed. Id accept any invitation like that in a heartbeat!
The Dead Weather...oh man...My second favorite band of all time...
You should buy the new Kills cd...its so dang good...Alisons voice is the best.

Awesome! Hope you get there early enough to get barrier. We got front and center to him :D

Who is your favorite band? Decided to DL it first and I really like the sound. Might just have to buy it soon. Does she sound as good live as she does on the record?
