I used to like Metric, but this new song they got on the radio gets on my nerves. I've seen Bloc Party twice live and they're really good. Recently, I've been listening to the genius of Sparklehorse, Dinosaur Jr. , Spoon, Pinback, Bon Iver, Tiny Vipers and Monsters of Folk

I officially :heart: you for this, not enough people realise just how good Bon Iver is. I mean For 'Emma, Forever Ago' is one of the most beautiful (and heartbreaking) albums ever made.

That's so weird, I am actually listening to Re: Stacks right now, but I've gotta admit I actually prefer Flume, I may not understand the lyrics, but the passion it's sung with means that doesn't even matter. It's kind of like when you see people crying whilst listening to whale song.

I should've guessed. It's just that Trail of Dead have had their share of mediocrity in their career, so I could see it as a serious comment.

Strongly recommend these guys. BC Orientering and Camilo (The Magician) are standouts. I think they still have the free download of the week on iTunes.

Broken Social Scene news!!!!!!

New Album May 4
Broken Social Scene will be releasing their highly anticipated fourth studio album on May 4th, 2010, following up 2005's self-titled record. The yet to be titled release was co-produced by the band and Tortoise’s John McEntire at Soma Studios in Chicago, and in Toronto at Giant Studio and The Schvitz Studio.



In addition to the previously announced European dates and Toronto Island Concert, the band will be doing three US release shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. A special pre-sale is on now at GalleryAC.com for tickets to the US tour dates. Go here for further details.

Feist, Amy Millan, Emily Haines sing together on new Broken Social Scene CD

For Broken Social Scene fans continuing to wait for the Toronto collective's long-awaited fourth studio album, collaborator Amy Millan offered a new detail on Wednesday.

Millan said that she recorded a track with Leslie Feist and Emily Haines for the disc, marking the first time the three Canadians had sung together on the same song.

"That was really fun," Millan told The Canadian Press in a telephone interview. "We all met up in Toronto."
Details have been few and far between on the new album, the band's first since 2005's self-titled record.
Members of the group have been recording in Chicago with producer John McEntire of Tortoise and the Sea and Cake, but were coy about providing any information about the record when interviewed in December.

"We've been really enjoying the whole process," Brendan Canning said then.

Of McEntire, he added: "It's a long journey we're on together. Trying to make music always is."
Millan, meanwhile, said her band Stars was very close to finishing its fifth full-length album, which will be mixed in the next two months.

However, she doesn't think the new record will be called "The Black House, the Blue Sky" as has been rumoured on the Internet. She said discussions about the title were ongoing.

"We're having think-tanks daily on the name of our record," she said with a laugh.

It took a couple listens to get into it, but i've ended up liking it....especially stuff like "Goodnight Laura", "Is Love forever" and "Trouble comes running"

I think "Written In Reverse" is the best song on the album, though...
