Official JLA discussion thread - Part 3

Maybe it's harder to put in a talking intelligent tiger today than it was 30-50 yrs ago, but I'm still hoping they go old school on this classic story.

I hope so there needs to be a friendly talking tiger in a bow tie in the Marvel Family

Tawky Tawny makes the DCU a better place just by existing in it :)

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that he's called Shazam now, not Captain Marvel. I still don't like it....

Really disliked the quality of JLA's Darkseid arc (read it in hardcover) and am thinking about dropping the book if it doesn't get any better. Did it get better after the first arc?

In terms of concept AND execution Graves is such a stupid stupid villain. Is this really the best that Johns could come up with?

We dont even really know what Graves is, how can you call him stupid?

Did you even read this issue? the guy literally embodies the spirits of his entire family and uses that to fight the justice league because

A) They couldn't cure his disease.

and

B) They couldn't stop his family from being killed because they were probably saving others.

boo ****ing hoo. That **** is lame as hell. Another fool playing the victim for stupid reasons and expecting entitlement from actions that benefited him financially ("hey man I wrote a smash book about you guys so can't you keep an extra vigilant eye out for me and my fam") I'm glad I dropped this title but I should've left that book on my friends coffee table and not even wasted time reading it.

You don't know how they died, why they died, the full extent of his own story yet, and why he feels the JL is responsible. You are the one being lame as hell. :awesome:

Please. When you've been reading comic books as long as I have stuff like this is so ****ing transparent and obvious that you don't even have to read the full story to know where it's headed. Enjoy your JL; I sincerely mean that. I'll just stick to reading comic books that are actually worth reading instead.

I have hated this title, but this issue has been one I enjoyed for the most part almost. So having said that, even I am trying to save give the villain a chance once you 100% know the deal.

Yeah this issue was much better in my opinion, though I still feel that Superman and Batman should both beat the **** out of this version of Hal. I like Hal normally, but in this book he's the defenition of *****ebag.

I was confused why when Batman was listing out the villains targeted that when he said The Scavenger, Jim Lee drew The Operative. Who, while we do not know his full story yet, is part of The Others team from Aquaman's early years.

Jim Lee cant draw Aquaman's trident and WW's tiara for two panels straight and you want him to draw the right Other?

I like him. He was right anyway. It's obvious that the team hasnt gelled yet so why is a *****ebag?

Besides, did you notice the lights he projected when they were questioning superman? He's a funny guy!

Looking back, he wasn't as bad this issue. I just have a slight bitter taste in my mouth from the origin arc.

Was Justice League Dark good this week my comic shop had sold out of it :(

You might want to ask in the Dark thread because I doubt that JL & JLD really share any readers despite having the JL brand in the title.

It was as good as Lemire's first issue. Maybe a little bit better as he starts to more deeply delve into his plots.

He seems to be continuing a lot from the first arc...which confuses me a bit as I refuse to read the first arc. :o

I loved the latest issue of JLDark. My favorite book of the week. I love that Lemire is on the book. And if you look at that vision Xanadu had, among those bodies were Frankenstein and Etrigan. Lemire said that in his run, each arc will have some of the cast rotating. I LOVE his Frankenstein stuff. If he makes some appearances in JLDark I'll be overjoyed.

Either Milligan before just wasn't doing his best or I'm not a fan of him. Don't know. I've only ever tried to read some of his Shade stuff back in the day and I couldn't get interested in it.

If Frankie's book gets cancelled (which is possible) I wouldn't be surprised to see him and S.H.A.D.E. folded into JLD.

What the hell did Peter Milligan ever do to you?

If Frankenstein teamed up with the Justice League Dark that would get a  from me

I'll have to ask if my comic shop can order it for me :)

I think Lemire's already said that Frank will be appearing in subsequent issues.

Fun on a bun

I loves Frank and it'll be neat to see Lemire write him again

Did Earth 2 get released yet? I haven't seen in it in any comic shops at all.
