Well if you mods do decide to close the jla threads i will sorely miss them. I do really hope a jla film will happen down the road. Hopefully not to far down the road. maybe 2010/2011/2012. But who really knows things could change at a drop of a dime and there could be new development or something.

Guys its been over six months. Six months of absolutely nothing. There is no movie. Its time to face facts.

YEa yea there is no Miller's JLA film happening. Their is a chance of jla happening but more then likely not for awhile, hopefully not to far down the road. But thats the thing with wb we dont know what is happening and what isnt happening with dc films.

Hasn't Snyder shown interest in making a DKR adaption?

He did at the Con. They asked him and Frank Miller about it and he said he would do it if asked. I don't see a DKR movie adaptation happening in a for while though. At least not for another 6-8 years possibly. Whenever it does happen, I'll be there in line at midnight fo sho.

I agree. Might as well move this to the DC forums, because i think the writing is on the wall in regards to Millers JLA movie starring DJ Catrona and Armie Hammer being put on the backburner. Thankfully....:hehe:

I'll admit that it's been almost 4 months since we last heard from someone in authority who spoke of this movies' future. That was producer Osborne talking to The Dominion about the movie possibly moving to Canada or elsewhere. Since then, very little word, and really nothing from those who count......Osborne, Miller and WB. Very frustrating indeed.

I'd still like this and MOS kept open until Warners reveals it's future superhero movie plans. They have yet to say anything about anything, but if word eventually comes down that a JL movie is a few years off, then okay, I'd have no problem folding the board to DC Comic Movies.

What's hilarious is that you keep expecting WB to reveal something. Like that the movies are NOT getting made which they will never do.

There's no movie coming out this year. There's no movie coming out in 2010. It's done.

I agree that if this movie is dead, they may not ever mention it specifically. But I have the feeling that they'll be obliged to at least let it be known what their overall plans are for their DC superheroes, something Marvel has already done with theirs. This could be done with an official press release, but will more likely be revealed through "unofficial" channels. That should tell us where a JL movie stands in their grand scheme. To this point, we've heard nothing from them (Warners) about any of their projects beyond Watchmen, and just because we haven't heard anything about any movie doesn't mean no movie is being made.

There's no movie coming out this year. There's no movie coming out in 2010. It's done.

Of course there's no movie coming out this year. Beyond Watchmen, there's no movie coming out next year either. However, 2010 and beyond are totally up for grabs. Warners will likely make at least one superhero movie for 2010. Considering TDK's success and Marvel's pattern with IM and TIH, my hunch is that they'll make two. Which two is the big question. To this point they've made no indication which movies they plan on making next. Levitz was quoted as saying that there are "6 films at the starting gate". It's just a matter of WB choosing which one or two of the six to make for 2010, and I strongly believe that a JL movie is one of those six.

Those "6 films at the starting gate" are just that, at the starting gate where many of them have been for years and even if one of them was to get made, whilst Nolan's Batman series is still running JL is definitely not going to be one of them. WB is in no hurry to make more superhero film, they don't need to be, they've got other movies and franchises up their sleeve, this isn't like Marvel who are only focusing on their own characters, the chances of WB releasing a statement detailing a slate of DC related films to be made over the next 5 years is remote at best because they've already got a tonne of other films to do, they've just released one of the biggest and critically acclaimed films in years and unlike Marvel, I'm doubtful they're in any rush to produce anything anytime soon that is below par.

So you think Warners is just going to sit on their heels while every other studio attempts to capitalize on the current superhero fad, one that they themselves defined with TDK, one that could quickly fade if the market becomes oversaturated with product? I think not. Will they rush something that isn't ready? No. But if they can't get their act together for at least one superhero movie for 2010, then that's just sad. IMO, they'd be foolish to put all their superhero eggs into the Batman 3 basket.

The superhero fad will be with us for some years, they're not going to sit on their heels, but they're unlikely to rush anything, the JL fiasco was a knee jerk reaction which thankfully has been put aside. WB I'm sure will put more time and effort in to ensuring the same quality goes into other potential superhero franchises as was done with TDK, which means taking their time with each character, getting the right director, script and cast. It's not about them getting their act together, it's about putting their priorities in place, unlike Marvel WB have other films and potential blockbuster franchises to worry about so I think people expecting superhero film releases in 2010, 11, 12 and 13 are going to be sadly disappointed.

YEa that very possible jmc but with not hearing anything reguarding dc characters from wb we dont know if something is coming or not.

Hey mods, quick question if you do decide now to drop the whole jla section on hype what thread(s) for jla would be moved over to the dc comics film section?

It is up to the big boss, I don't think it will happen anytime soon, but my opinion is that it will be moved to the DC Comics Film section in some fashion.

Wait...so you think WB isn't going to release any superhero movies in the next 5 years?

I agree, I don't believe Miller's JL is in the running.

If the movie isn't happening, they aren't going to come right out and say it, it will just, dissolve. Same thing with MOS.

Now, look: IF the Justice League movie is ever moving forward or not, we'll have to wait until DC/WB announce their plan. You know, the one they made at that "Superhero summit" couple of weeks back? ANd the uncertainty with the screen actors guild isn't helping either. So, at least until then, It'd be better to hold of closing boards and stuff.

Yea miller's film is dead whos to say a different jla film could be on the books at a later date, then we have green arrow, gl, flash, jonah hex, and shazam that are all in different stages of possibly happening.

Megan Gale proves she's a real Wonder Woman

August 01, 2008 12:00am

Her big star vehicle Justice League Of America may be stalled but Megan Gale can take comfort the film's director is loudly singing her praises.

Aussie Dr George Miller, who picked up an Oscar for Happy Feet in 2006, has confided the retired Aussie supermodel "blitzed her opposition" when she read for the part of Wonder Woman in the sci-fi film, which has stalled because of the US actors' strike.

"She got the job because she blitzed her screen test. I mean, I had no idea she was so good. She was brilliant," Miller said.

"She walked into our office in Sydney and read the part. She has done some Italian movies but I didn't think she would be as good as she was.

"But once she read we all looked around at each other said, 'well, there's no question'."

Miller said Gale had only a few hours of acting training with famed NIDA acting coach Nico Lathouras before her audition. "I told him to spend a couple of days with her but he spent three hours with her and came to me and said, 'look, she is a natural'.

"It's one of those things - some people can run fast without any training and acting is the same. And Megan is one of those people who can just act."

After such glowing praise, Gale will no doubt be crossing her manicured fingers that the troubled film does finally get off the ground.

Miller said the flick's production, initially planned for Oz, has been moved offshore, with a plan to resume filming next year.

Admittedly, this is the so-called gossip page of the paper, so we should take anything said here with a large grain of salt. I just want to know if these are direct quotes from Miller or something conjured up by Gale's publicist.

Wait...so you think WB isn't going to release any superhero movies in the next 5 years?

With the exception of Batman 3, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if no other superhero movie came out by WB in the next 5 years.

Unless you count Watchmen which really isn't even a true DC property really.

How many months have we looked at absolute garbage like the above quote it means nothing. Six months of that, no movie. There's nothing going on.

Fold the forums into DC movies. It is not only possible, it is essential.

That article is hilarious. For instance, how can they resume filming that never began? All the actors deals have been terminated, or they've moved onto other projects. THIS IS AN EX-MOVIE!
