Comics Official Random X-Men One-Shots and Specials Thread

Yeah, Claremont really needs to move on. I was excited when Psylocke came back, but nothing's happened to make that worthwhile so far, in my book. But maybe this book will finally get his claws out of her.

Nightcrawler *leaving*? Okay, hello? This is a former *leader* of the X-Men. The "redundancy" of powers is the least of the issues here. No two-bit girl kid can make up for Kurt's personality, experience, and blue-ness.

Where in the world would he go, anyway?

Don't forget this one! I can't wait!

For February:

X-MEN ORIGINS: SABRETOOTH
Written by KIERON GILLEN
Pencils & Cover by DAN PANOSIAN
Every year, he beats Wolverine to an inch of his life. You won’t find a sicker, more dangerous person in the Marvel Universe. But why? Why is he so vicious? Why is he so brutal? Why does he leave a wake of violence and death everywhere he goes? Look into Sabretooth’s eyes and tremble…
32 PGS./One-Shot/Rated T+ …$3.99

!?

Wow. This looks sweet. I think Sabertooth is one of the villains whose pasts hasn't been done over to death.

But, yeah . . . he's dead . . . .

Why?

I am hoping this opens a door for his return. :D No one is ever really dead.

lol. Isn't that true?

I was talking to one of my friends who doesn't really follow the comic books and telling her about Emma Frost, and said something along the lines of, "Jean's dead, but when she gets back--"

Yes, a "when," not an "if."

So now we're waiting for Jean, Sabretooth, and Kitty.

<is still pouting about Kitty's absence>

Jean is the most likely to return first of that group. It's no great secret that she is the likely that kid Cable's running around with these days. I'd like to see Kitty come back, maybe one of those X-men still in space with Vulcan can retrieve her or something. :p

well Jean's not dead so its not much of a surprise. She was resurrected already in Endsong and its only a matter of when they decide to fully bring her back. I thought for sure we would have gotten a third mini series to deal with that ny now but after the disastrous Warsong, it seems as if that story has been dropped for now

Ugh, Claremont, GIVE UP ON PSYLOCKE already! She hasn't done a SINGLE thing since she's been back, all because you're hoarding her and making her crap and keeping her in crap books!
IA and I hate the whole multiverse/omniverse crap. It doesnt do anything for her character at all. CC has had a monopoly on her since 2000. Its about damn time another writer handles her. Its a shame that he still had her when Carey took over bc she would have rocked on his team.

CC should just be retired. Every book he touches now turns to dust. :(

I just finished reading the Angel: Revelations mini. Is this canon?

I don't know, but I really enjoyed it. :) I am just not that familiar with Warren's backstory because I haven't read any X-mens that predate the Giant Sized #1 in Uncanny.

I like the Angel mini, except for the art.

Those I was confused as to when did that happen in Angel's life, pre-O5 I persume.

of course it happened pre-O5. The O5 were referenced in one of the psychic's drawings and the mini took place when Warren first got his wings. He had a short stint as a solo hero before joining Xaviers school

Just an honest question here, no snark: Why does it matter?

lol. I think that's the truest thing I've heard in a while.

As a big Wolverine fan, I've been picking and choosing what I want to be real or not since they decided to bring Silverfox back to life and make her a HYDRA agent.

I'm the same. The real shame is that less and less of the stuff Marvel publishes in relation to Wolverine goes anywhere near my 'personal continuity'.

I dont think its really an issue about powers at heart. I know all the focus of Kitty leaving has been on Peter and his reaction but her and Kurt have always been really close and from his Manifest story at least he seems to have taken her disapearance pretty badly as well. Think the powers issue is just an excuse.

As for Jean... im suprised more people havnt mentioned Mutant Zero.

what the hell is mutant zero?

and is it still possible to read all of inferno somewhere on the internet?

Yeah, I have no idea what this mutant zero stuff is supposed to be.

Mutant Zero is in Avengers: The Initative, one of Marvel's better series. She's a mutant hired by the Initative to do dirty work. So far we know she's a big character according to Slott. And that according to character interactions with her and art that's she a red head who has a dark side that she fears.

What is it with Marvel and their red-haired female mutant?

The only reason they do that is to hype Jean's return, and everyone already knows her so-called secret, which is boring beyond words.

Good thing she is in Avengers.

yeah seriously. there are not that many attractive red heads in real life. i get that this is a "fantasy world" but theres no way im gonna believe that there are all these super hot, and ridiculously powerful red haired chicks running around.

I dont see redhead mutants used anymore than blondes or brunettes
