This is terrible though

I think age has caught up with her (the last one).
I honestly don't mind the older X-Men finally starting to look old, but then again, I'm one of those comic fans that would like to see the formerly younger X-Men come into the spotlight more than the older ones. By younger I mean like the New Mutants/Generation X-ers.in the big panel she doesn't look so bad but in both close ups she looks awful in one she looks really old and in the other she looks like a tranny
Just today I was thinking of a Gen X relaunch and I think that has to do with the new New Mutants series.I am waiting for the Generation X relaunch...complete with zombie Synch and Skin!

than X-factor would have continued with Dazzler in her place. The premise of the title was to give the original X-men their own book. Only problem was that Jean was dead so they needed a female replacement. The plan was to include Dazzler. She already had history with Angel and months before X-factor hit, they gave her a limited series with Beast. The final issue of her series starred Beast. Dazzler retires and asks him what she should do next and he says something along the lines of how does the X-factor strike you. They were going to go with this but realized that the premise just wouldnt work without Jean, so they resurrected her and threw Dazzler in Uncanny insteadI totally agree I'd actually like to see comics start becoming more like that, having heroes retire and such and have new heroes step in all across the board not just X-Men. Thats something Chris Claremont was kind of trying to do with the X-Men when Scott Left but then they brought Jean back and X-Factor happened and a lot of great stories came from but I always wonder what could have Happened if Jean never came back?
I mean I'd be happy with an alternate future comic that doesn't have to be cannon with the 616 universe per se, more of a What If comic. I know they tried it last year, but that comic looked so boring because it was all new characters and I'm all for new characters, but is X-Men really the comic where they need to create new characters?
that was his plan but then again he was the only writer of the X books back then. We only had 2 X titles, Uncanny and New Mutants and CC controlled them both. But the X-men were just too popular to contain to 2 books, so thats when they decided to expand the franchise to X-factor and soon after, Excalibur and unforuntely for CC, he lost abit of his power as there was now a different set of creators dictating what went on in the X universe.I didn't know they were gonna do it either way I just remembering reading a Claremont interview where he said the thing about when Scott left he intending him to be gone, get his happy ending, and Show up every once and a while. not exactly worded the way I put it though. god I wish that man stopped writing at like 10/15 years ago so maybe people would respect him more
I liked X-Men: The End.That comic, GeNext, could have worked if Claremont had actually stuck to the original idea, which would have had the X-Men age in real time, which was readers actually voted that they wanted to see on Marvel.com, but Claremont, in his infinite wisdom, decided he wanted to continue his infinitely crappy The End series instead. It's clear that he pulled a big switcheroo on the fans, since in early sketches, one of the characters was actually named as Cable, having grown up in the main reality and not being taken to the future, but when the book came out, the character was suddenly the son of Rogue and Gambit, with his one eye inexplicably glowing, which was a calling card of Cable. Is it any wonder Claremont gets so much flack these days? I'm not going near X-Men: Forever because of crap like this.
