I'm seriously excited about what characters they could be bringing to Apocalypse.

I'm going to see it again (on my own) tomorrrow night!

I nearly went tonight, but didn't get home from work till late and I had something to get done at home.

I'll also go to see it at Birmingham's Giant Screen cinema (not IMAX, it used to be, but a digital giant screen 72ft x 40ft) but they aren't showing it until June 12 !!!

From First Class? For starters X1 said Charles and Eric met when they were teenagers. Second at the start of X-3 you see Charles bald, still walking, with Eric recruiting students for the school. In X-2 Eric said he helped Charles build Cerebro (which presumably is how he knew how to reprogram it to attack all the humans). Not to mention watching X-Men 1-3 you'd have NO idea Charles and Raven were ever close.

Need I go on?

I was reading some this discussion...and I don't get it.

Even if it was in a respectful manner...why would Singer supposedly knock aside a movie he very much had a hand in making?

Well, it all depends on how far we jump again. If it is another 10 years you would think Xavier will have already opened the school up again. So Nightcrawler and Gambit may already be at the school. I say them because we NEED the origins of Storm, Cyc and Jean. I really don't know how many characters I want in Apoc. With Magneto, quicksilver and mystique coming back I just don't know if I want more than the people that seemingly have been announced plus apoc and possibly four horsemen :S I think it is time to introduce Scarlet Witch though if they plan on developing Quicksilver.

Exactly. Or use any of the cast from said movie either.

Just returned from seeing it. It gets a solid 9/10 from me. Loved the whole thing to be honest. It has a great balance of action and humor. It grabbed me right from the start and didnt let go.

There's some very powerful stuff in the future that had me going like this :awesome::wow: :waa:. But it was a heck of a ride, and well worth the emotional turmoil lol.

I gotta say though, the sentinels were freaky as heck, especially in the future! Loved Wolverine, Quicksilver, Kitty, Charles... man, to be honest, i loved hem all. The future XMen kicked some major butt.

I'm sleepy and i dont want to give away any spoilers, so just go see it and enjoy it :woot:

I enjoyed this, but it felt like much more of a send off to Singer's X-films rather than an actual FC sequel that stands on it's own two feet.

I liked it better than First Class. But I think I still enjoyed X2 more and it's not as good as the first two-thirds of The Wolverine.

I can't really blame the writing for this because it's not like they had a grand plan from the very beginning. But they play up the Charles/Mystique relationship so much in these prequels, that it feels off that there isn't even a hint of it in the original trilogy.

I did like that Wolverine was more of an observer here. He didn't save the day like in the others movies. The QS scene was fun. I was surprised how little graphic the future scenes were.

This movie was amazing :D It was so brutal at times, its probably the most intense X-Men movie ever. I loved Quicksilver, he kinda stole the movie even tho he was in just a few scenes. The 3D is SO worth it :word:

My only complaint is that they didn't use Magneto's theme from First Class :csad:

X-Men Days of Future Past. Brilliant. Just Brilliant. 10/10. Only bad part was lack of Rogue.

And I have never been a big Jennifer Lawrence fan but she was great this movie. Way better performance than in First Class.

And I tell you what. The X-Men movies sure know how to cast asain females. Fan Bingbing is adorable as Blink.

seriously one of the most amazing comic book movies i've seen...hell one of the best movies ive seen

i gotta think on it for a while before i try anything else....just wow. incredible.

Magnetos Theme from FC is in there. Its subtle, But you will pick it up. Check it out on the OST aswell.

Oh how could I forget Quicksilver? The whole theatre went nuts during that scene. By far got the biggest reaction.

I didnt think i would see a better movie this year other than cap but this surpasses in fact i will put this 2nd to avengers as my favorite superhero movie ever going again this weekend.

X-Men Days of Future Past is the film I've longed for this franchise for the past 8 years.

Since 2006, I've longed hoped that Singer would return to right the wrongs that began that year. Yes, FIRST CLASS and the WOLVERINE started the process of healing the franchise in their own way but leave to Singer, the master of this franchise, to finally come full circle and heal the wounds that began 8 years ago.

10/10 with an asterisk (Rogue sequences). CAPTAIN AMERICA THE WINTER SOLIDER doesn't hold a candle to this film. Not even close. Like with the underrated and divisive AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, it's about the emotion and the characters that win the day. This one just does it better than any other since THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

I know that there will be more X-Men films. This film was specifically created to clean the slate of the franchise. Yes, I'm even more curious about the 3rd film for the FIRST CLASS cast now that they can chart their own path. But for me, like Nolan's THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, this is my X-Men finale. This is what I've wanted. This ****ing film had me in tears through multiple parts in its 2 hour and 11 minute running time. But the waterworks crescendo ed during the reset present/future of 2023 when Logan awakes to old friends. I literally lost it.

Marie. Bobby. Peter. Kitty. Hank. Xavier. Storm. Scott. And Jean. All together. All family. Logan's journey that began in X-Men in 2000 is finally full circle as is my journey with this cinematic interpretation of the characters.

I love this film. I do not yet know if I love it as much or if it's cinematically as crisp as X2 but I think it just might. It doesn't matter either way because, for me, the film just works.

I can't wait until the Fall hits and I can watch this series front to back and relish in the saga that is X-Men.

Just got back. Oh. My. God.

Simply amazing. Xavier and Quicksilver really stole the show for me. And of coarse, Magneto was a serious bada**!

So are the future X-Men gonna be battling Apocalypse or the 70's?

7.5 or an 8, not sure yet. It was really good though.

Just got back from the theater, and folks, I've gotta say...I am stunned by how good this movie was.

First thing is first, I loved all of the easter eggs. The nods to both the original trilogy & FC, and the 'blink and you'll miss it' nods for the fans were splendid. I noticed that the composer from X2 was brought onboard again, and Ottman did an excellent job with the score yet again. I was really digging Jackman's score from FC, but here, Ottman managed to blend the old and the new as well as Singer has done with both timelines. Simple and splendid, and it was nice to hear the old cues from X2 in the opening sequence. With regard to easter eggs, do my eyes deceive me, [BLACKOUT]or did we get a glimpse of young Cable in this!?[/BLACKOUT]

Secondly, Quicksilver was unbelievably entertaining. I was one of the ones who was apprehensive about his inclusion in this, all things considered, but my fears have definitely been put to rest, because everything surrounding this character, from the concept, writing, and execution of his scenes, was nothing short of superb. Had the whole theater roaring with laughter every time he was on screen.

Speaking of humor, the quips and punchlines were very effective overall. Some subtle, some overt, but never anything that was forced or bordering on parody/mockery. I'm reminded of the execution of the humor from TWS in this regard (and I do stress execution and quality, the tone and subject matter of these movies are quite different).

I have no idea how Singer and Co. managed to weave together such a tight and coherent story to bridge the gap between the two continuities, but he has done an absolutely superlative job. I'm sure I sound like I'm just gushing here, but it really is one hell of a movie.

X-Men frankly deserves its own universe. If anything, DOFP has shown me that the MCU formula is really kinda bland and uninteresting in comparison to this and earlier X-Men films. The MCU films may be good for the most part but they are still lacking substance overall. X-men really does have a depth to it that I feel is unrivaled by all Marvel movies, and even some WB films as well. Hopefully with Singer steering the franchise back on course it can start genuinely reaching it's potential. I've heard people say they want X-Men back at Marvel, at this point in time that would be a huge mistake.

Man you seriously are so anti-Marvel studios. It never ends. CA:TWS had plenty of substance, that's what I love most about it.

Well, with the X-Men Apocalypse movie potentially introducing young Jean, Scott and Storm; Gambit; Nightcrawler; and Apocalypse and his four horsemen; and bringing back all the others - I wouldn't imagine we will see some of those other First Class characters again.

I also don't know what they will do with Havok, Toad, Ink and Spyke. And what about Scarlet Witch - will we see her next time?

Bolded for you :woot:

Do we really need to go there right now? It was one harmless thought.

Just got back - I was honestly kinda disappointed.

I think the high Rotten Tomatoes score, combined with the rave reviews on here, had my expectations up WAY too high. The cast is fantastic, and I thought it was a decent X-Men movie, but it left me feeling like X2 is still my favorite of the bunch.

The Quicksilver scene is good, but I think I was expecting more, given how excited everyone seemed about it - he's definitely the most kinetic new character and adds a bit of levity to a fairly dour affair.

I wanted to love it, I really did. It's respectful to the X-Men characters and I think the casting was excellent for both the OC and the FCC (Save for JLaw, who I love in other stuff but I feel is miscast as Mystique), but something just felt "off".

He brought Marvel Studios up (which he does in vain a lot), I didn't do that on my own.

I'm glad this movie has substance, but to sit there and say it can't be found elsewhere is grossly naive.
