Official Rulk Thread

Me too. I dont even think Thor's defeat was BS.

i mean; red Hulk studied his opponent, came up with a plan, utilized it, and scored a victory.

Hopefully, there will be a round 2, where Thor comes back using all of mjolner's abilities from the get-go (although i honestly believe green Hulk will be the one who finally stops him)...
A plan that shouldn't have worked based on pretty much every previous depiction of Mjolnir, but hey, why bother with details?

Obviously. Gotta love the new guard and their "f*** research" writing style.

As much as I'm still enjoying the book, the person I feel really sorry for is Bruce. To have such a great event like WWH and then get reduced back to a caveman who gets pwned is beyond embarrassing

Yeah, Bruce got wrecked by Loeb's decision to just ignore him and go with a random new Hulk instead. Poor, re-******ed bastard.

It doesn't look like Loeb's going to do it, but I hope we get an explanation about the end of WWH. You know, what Tony shot Bruce w/ and what he remembers about the whole thing.

Loeb might explain it. I could see it tying into the red Hulk's origin, which is still the central premise of the series beyond "red Hulk punches everyone in the Marvel universe."

LOL! Yeah, I just caught up on all of my comics and I laughed my ass off at the randomness of the Watcher showing up out of nowhere for no reason other than to get beat up by Rulk. It was great and stupid at the same time! :woot:

So I've been thinking... maybe Marvel should eventually rename Rulk to a different name (because he isn't Hulk) and rename the title of the book to the new name.

And how much f-ing longer is it going to take before we find out who this Red Hulk is? I thought by issue two we would know. If we don't know by #5 this will really start to grind my gears... :cmad:

agreed... also whats up with this stuff abomination getting killed and then a bomb showing up...

I hate this book so much it makes me physically ill. It's like Loeb took everything that makes sense and then went in the opposite direction of it. Writing something bad is one thing, but it's like he's actively trying to look ******ed.

I haven't had the...snicker...pleasure of reading Rulk's latest issue (didn't even know it was out yet), but have ANY of the follwoing been addressed YET?!

1) Rulk's identity?
2) How can the Abomination be killed with any kind of gun?
3) How Rulk is supposedly stronger than a WWH Hulk (even if the Hulk ISN'T WWH related anymore)
4) Umm...Rick as A-Bomb?!
5) Where is Samson?

And as to be expected, what new questions have come up, since with his wrirting style, each issue of his work always creates new, stupider questions.

1) Rulk's identity?

Implied to be Samson, but most likely Ross.

2) How can the Abomination be killed with any kind of gun?

The brain is what allows a healing factor to work. Destroy it, and the healing factor won't kick in. Red Hulk shot him in the skull, so I suppose he destroyed Blonsky's cerebro.

It does raise the question, though, as to how SHIELD just happens to have a Hulk-and-Abomination slaying gun made for big hands in their armory which they've never put to use.

3) How Rulk is supposedly stronger than a WWH Hulk (even if the Hulk ISN'T WWH related anymore)

Not explained.

4) Umm...Rick as A-Bomb?!

We don't know how this happened.

5) Where is Samson?

No clue. Besides a piece of his clothing that had gamma residue (which could've been fabricated), I don't think we've heard much from him for a while.

By the way, for those of you who are interested:

Loeb gives some comments on Red Hulk.

No, no, no. None of those have been addressed because they're not important. The name of the game is "Red Hulk hits things and people of various sizes and dispositions." Just go with it.

God I just stopped puking.....now lets go lynch Loeb

And seriously, I had completely forgotten about the whole A-Bomb thing, probably because Loeb has too.

I'm starting to think, no i'm sure, any one of us could do a better job of writing this than Loeb. And that's not because we're all Eisner award winning writers either.

I think at this point the name of the game is "ignore it until Peter David writes a comic saying it never happened."

On the plus side, it makes Loeb's Supergirl writing look fractionally less atrocious by comparison.

Wait, that's not a plus side at all.

:(

It's ironic that Loeb calls Red Hulk the next Wolverine. He seems to be right in more ways than one.

Maybe that's the big reveal- Wolverine is actually Red Hulk, and his leaping explains how he's everywhere all at once.

well I'm very glad I never picked up this book. sounds like it was as dumb as it could have been

I kinda hope Rulk and A-Bomb stick around after this whole thing is said and done

This was pretty interesting. I didn't know that they were going to be splitting the issues up to where it's half green Hulk and half Rulk. That's kinda cool actually... or at least it could be cool.

And I guess Art Adams and Frank Cho will be splitting the art duties so it looks like McGuiness will probably be leaving after issue 6. I guess I kind of expected that but Cho and Adams are pretty good so that's cool.

He....does?

I just these posts and as a Hulk fan first and a Thor fan second, I found the way the red GSC "defeated" Thor one of the most ridiculous writing I have ever read. This story does not correlate with anything that is going on in the Marvel Universe or the Thor book. Thor with the power of Odin no longer had an enchantment on Mjollnir......ummm that does not seem right and I guess that is the least of it.

I am subscribed to this but initially I had subscribed thinking I would get the Hulk foolowing his WWH run but at the moment I am getting a stupid facsimile with a main character that is not the Hulk.

I hope someone fixes this comic soon!!!

Agreed. Its a total cop out by Loeb and I can't believe the Editors allowed it.

Yeah, I forget why but it was in that youtube link posted by Chibi. It was when he was saying that Rulk was the most popular new character of 08. Too bad he's like, the ONLY new character of 08... :oldrazz:

Also, why are people referencing the Rulk/Thor fight when Hulk #5 hasn't come out yet?
