Official Rulk Thread

Well I was ust thinking it had o be Nick Fury

1. Loves guns
2. Has a S.H.I.E.L.D file
3. Rulk has that funny eye
4. And Fury is looking to get his job back.

But if you say it can be. You may be right

I think Rulk is Glenn Talbot, returned from the dead.

Talbolt was "killed" in Hulk #260, when the military vehicle he was attacking the Hulk in, the War Wagon, was covered in lava. Somehow, this triggered a metamorphosis of some sort (which would explain Rulk's red skin)...

Talbolt also loves guns, and had access to SHIELD/Military files....

Glenn's brother became "Grey", a Hulk-like being in the Gamma Corps...

Please marvel, reboot the series already. I cant even take this book seriously anymore(especially with all the ****e the other heroes have gone through). Also I dont think we should even consider the Rulk arc to be in continuity snce it just doesnt fit. Nobody has even brought hulk the Rulk incident in all the other comics. With Dark reign igniting, the Hulk doesnt seem to have a place.

How in god's name is this series selling so well??? It BAFFLES the mind. I swear to jesus i am trying to like this series but its just too stupid and juvenile. You really genuinely get the feeling that Loeb doesnt give a crap and he's not even trying since he knows its gonna sell anyway. And i wont even start on continuity. And for the love of god, can they please just reveal his identity already?? I get the feeling that Loeb doesnt even know who Rulk is yet.

It's a fun book with lots of fights, great art and big explosions.A nice break from all the doom and gloom Marvel is producing.

I dropped the book because I couldn't justify paying the new high price tag for a "fun" book, but I still don't mind the direction Loeb is taking.

You know what else is fun? Captain Britain & MI-13. It's one more poor-selling issue away from cancellation. But that's okay. A poorly written version of Hulk's comic is selling splendidly.

My gawd! Loeb isn't even trying any more! The way Ms. Marvel just called up Brother Voodoo was the dumbest $#&@ I've ever seen! Ah well! At least Hulk will be in Mighty Avengers written by Slott. One thing positive I can say I got from this book was it had 2 crazy mofos that are Batman and Superman like. Here's hoping Marvel can have a Sentry/Moon Knight team up book. It would be very interesting.

Well she DOES know him. He's a registered hero. The Mighty Avengers used him to try and find out if Dr. Strange and the New Avengers were hiding out in Strange's Sanctum...

Well I know she knows him but you can't just call up a hero to beat someone you can't. It takes away the suspense. Another thing, Wendigo biting Hulk wouldn't turn into a wendigo. 1)Hulk's healing factor would prevent that. 2)You turn into Wendigo when you eat raw flesh in that forest in Canada. Ehh..forget it. Loeb never explained how the Wendigos were able to leave Canada in the first place.

This book is perfect for Loeb. If we can get clarity that this book ISN'T in continuity, it will be even more fun to read. If he was allowed to just write this book without having to tie it into the main stuff, it would probably remain a good seller. The characters are comical and is a nice break from the oh so serious dark reigning stuff happening elsewhere. There were more jokes in this one issue than all of SI (inclusing the tie-ins). This book is like an Adam Sandler/Will Farrell movie amongst a slew of Scorcese flicks. Great stuff. Loved the dialogue between Moon Knight and Sentry (it is reminiscent of superman/batman). I can't wait for Spider-Man or Deadpool to guest star in this book.

Well their is a Comic coming out, I think it's like a handbook, it is has Rulk on the cover with various other villians including Bastion, Batroc the Leaper, Ezekiel Stane, MachineSmith, Druig, etc... So once this handbook comes out, we'll have confirmation that Hulk takes place in continuity.

Also, how does Hulk not fit into continuity? Why, cause they haven't mentioned Rulk in any other comic? Oh wait, She-Hulk mentions the incident in her own comic, which is in continuity. Is it because Hulk and/or Rulk didn't show up in SI? A lot of heroes didn't show up in SI, it doesn't mean they are not in continuity.

I totally agree, I noticed that when I was reading the latest issue. It was like the Big 3 vs Hulk.

Sentry - Superman
Moon Knight - Batman
Ms. Marvel - Wonder Woman

Have you ever thought that we could get an explination before the arc is over. Why do people always act like the answers need to be given right when the story starts. Whe the answers are given early, people just complain that things were spoiled and unsuspenceful.

Damn, I didn't even notice that. I guess that's Loeb bringing his DC-style writing to Marvel.

Did Rulk just fool She-Hulk by playing possum in two consecutive issues? :facepalm

I like how they just waited for him to get up. Oh no, nobody attempt to get him to a more secure location, let's just wait until he gets up and does something; and the way he got up after hours and hours of waiting, it was so comical.

Rulk and this book in general is a satire on the insanity and absurdity of comic books.

This issue was a checklist of Rulk cliches...

  • Claimed to have "studied" his foes
  • Reminded us that he was not, in fact, the green Hulk.
  • Boasted that he had the ability to kill someone (Thundra) whenever he wanted.
  • Got away without us learning any more about his identity. How long are they planning on letting that plot thread dangle?
And speaking of getting away, why didn't Sue Richards try to stop him with a force field? She was right there.

Also, how does Hulk not fit into continuity? Why, cause they haven't mentioned Rulk in any other comic?

Because the last couple of years of Hulk continuity (the events of Planet Hulk, World War Hulk) have been completely disregarded with no reason or explanation, and no consequences to those events.

Hell Yeah!! the dude was playing possum after having a force field bubble around his head !?!?!this dude has been able to do stuff that for years the Hulk could'nt do. beat Thor survive a sue Force field. This Book is nothing but bull)(*^%#@. the only reason i got it was cause i like Thundra and she came off as nothing in this . I'm out. The "RULK" could be president bush for all i care now

I read that Hulk's identity is apparent, but won't have a big reveal until Hulk #600 in '09. Loeb's Hulk run will turn into official numbering with #14, I think.

Sue has mentioned WWH fallout in Fantastic Four because of her charity work for the refugees.

They've strongly hinted that Leonard Samson is Red Hulk, but I would be surprised (and more than a little disappointed) if it was that obvious.
