I think Rulk is Glenn Talbot, returned from the dead.

Talbolt was "killed" in Hulk #260, when the military vehicle he was attacking the Hulk in, the War Wagon, was covered in lava. Somehow, this triggered a metamorphosis of some sort (which would explain Rulk's red skin)...

Talbolt also loves guns, and had access to SHIELD/Military files....

Glenn's brother became "Grey", a Hulk-like being in the Gamma Corps...

Yeah, but Glenn was barely a third-tier character even when he was around. I doubt many people would know who he is, let alone missed him. And, unlike Brubaker's work with Bucky, it's pretty clear that Loeb's writing isn't gonna take a potentially boring old character reveal and turn it into something amazing.

And, unlike Brubaker's work with Bucky, it's pretty clear that Loeb's writing isn't gonna take a potentially boring old character reveal and turn it into something amazing.

I think Hulk readers are atleast aware of Talbot. I mean, he was featured in every animated series the Hulk has had to my best memory, his nephew Matt showed up during Peter David's run, appeared in the 2003 film, has had his history skimmed thru in those "Ultimate Guide to the Hulk" books which I almost without exception, see at every bookstore that sells graphic novels, and had his brother appear in the Gamma Corps as Grey.

However, I do agree with you Corp. Even if it is ultimately revealed that Talbot is Rulk ... I cant see Loeb turning the revealation into something incredibly satisfying.

I don't like Doomsday being humanized as a "character" at all, much less as a completely generic Smallvillean prettyman with requisite Smallvillean prettyman angst dialogue. Please, tell me that he's not just some average guy secretly struggling with a secret growing monstrous murderly beast within darkness secret that slowly threatens to overwhelm him despite all his attempts to control and hide it. He's just an average guy! All he wants is a normal life! He doesn't want to hurt anyone, much less the new friends he has made in this new town! It is however all futile because, as Spike or Zod or Lex's clone or whichever villain happens to be the mastermind exposits to him and us, it is his Destiny and he cannot fight it. Cue final transformation complete with bloodcurdling scream of final angst as he gives in to the darkness withiHGNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGHHHH

that's why i have half assed watch that show.....oh and to occasionally see the hottie babe of the week( black canary was a big letdown though). I love how "Hoodies" have taken the place of masks on that show. Damn! you cant just go out and get a simple ass domino mask anymore.

I watched the first two seasons. It was a hep new Superboy. Then it got unwatchable. However I've been giving this season a glimpse and it at least is a bit more DC.

I know this doesnt really have to do with Rulk but i read the Ultimate Hulk annual written by Loeb and my god people it is ATROCIOUS. PLEASE i beg all of you DO NOT waste your money on that book! PLEASE! The art is pretty but the story literally sounds like it was written by a 5 year old. Does Loeb not give a f*** anymore??? Seriously, how are the marvel editors letting this stuff fly?? Ultimate hulk was once one of the coolest reinventions of the ultimate universe, and within one issue Loeb completely ass raped him and turned him into crap. Good job Loeb, you jackass.

Yeah it's kinda worth underscoring that Doomsday isn't all that good of a villain in the first place so it's kind of hard to see why I'd care about any version of him, let alone some watered-down Wangstville edition.

I mean at least do, ****ing, I don't know, angsty-assed teenage space-fascist Darkseid or something, at least make it look like you're trying.
