Official Rulk Thread

I don't really hate him. He's just boring. The only times I've ever really liked him were in X-Factor and PAD/Frank's Hulk run.

I have all of the issues of Iron Man after the WWH tie-ins, so I'm finally getting into that series. I haven't read them yet.

Then get off your ass and read them. You're missing grade A stuff.

Or get on your ass and read them. Whatever you have to do, read them.

I'd pick up the post-CW issues, too. Those were excellent.

I try not to go too far back in back-issues. I'll check if they've got trades of that stuff if I like what I read in the more recent comics.

Did no one like the CW tie-ins? I thought they way they handled
Happy's death
was very good.

Is that a joke? He was killed off panel, and by the next issue, there was a hardly a mention of it.

I read the first two post-WWH issues during lunch. Aside from the fact that they misspelled "Makluan" as "Malukkian" consistently throughout #21, it was pretty damn good. It's got a lot of what I love from Checkmate--that nuanced, day-to-day procedural take on international policing. Weird seeing Captain Ultra again. I also liked how the Knaufs pretty much gave me the answer to the mystery behind Gadget's death right before her death scene, yet still played it in such a way that I didn't even consider it until the next issue. Definitely sticking with it, and I'm looking up trades for the earlier stuff right after I post this.

Told you. ;)

But really, unless you want to be a completist, I'd avoid Ellis' opening arc and everything up until the first issue post-CW.

I meant the actual issue in which [BLACKOUT]Happy[/BLACKOUT]dies, did no one think it was good :csad:

Dude, he died off panel. And then it was never mentioned. You think that was handled well?

The Knaufs weren't good before CW? I wasn't planning on buying Ellis' arc in the first place--he's the reason I wasn't already reading Iron Man, in fact--but there's a pre-CW trade by the Knaufs called Execute Program. Then there's Civil War: Iron Man, which I'm not buying, and then Director of SHIELD, which covers the issues between CW and the WWH tie-ins in #19 and 20, and then I have back-issues from #21 on.

But it was [BLACKOUT]Tony[/BLACKOUT] who offed him :csad:

Did you not read the issue?

I haven't. The people who wanted to already have, though, so you can probably dispense with the spoiler tags.
