Official Rulk Thread

Yeah, the red Hulk is a separate being. At the end of the last issue, the green Hulk actually shows up and is standing face-to-face with the red Hulk on the last page. I'm not a huge Hulk fan, but even I thought it was pretty badass. McGuinness was born to draw the Hulk(s).

and thanks for the info.

does anyone have a scan of them toe to toe?

Batman already beat Hulk, He shoved two gas pallets down his throat.

For the record, it all started with this guy.

I just personally see it as my job to educate. :D

This thread is not going to become another vapid back-and-forth over who Hulk could or could not beat. There are plenty of versus threads already set up for that. Anyone who posts arguments or pics about how Hulk could kick this person's ass or that person's ass from this point on gets their post deleted and an infraction for their troubles. Discuss the Hulk book or get out of the thread.

Can we talk about the green HULK beating the red HULK?

I think the Red Hulk is going to put Hulk down bad. What will probably happen is that a lot of these heroes (Iron Man, Hulk, Abomination, etc.) are going to have to band together.

Red fights Wendigo in King-Size Hulk #1. Apparently the madder he gets, the... hotter he gets? All righty. And gamma radiation is somehow involved.

Blurg, that seems likely. I'm starting to dread Thor's appearance in #5. :(

Jeph Loeb is quickly becomeing a parody of a certain other writers. Red Hulk,Ultimates 3 and anything hes written since superman/batman feels like an issue of ALL-star Batman and Robin.

I can't believe I'm saying this.
DACMAN?
Do you have the scan of red hulk standing toe to toe with Green?

Outside of the last page on #3, I don't think there is one yet. The only one I can think of is A-bomb grappling with Red Hulk.

I've been thinking of the "reality-bending feats" McGuinness talked about and wondering whether the red Hulk may have something to do with Zom. If Zom somehow possessed an aspect of the Hulk or is masquerading as the Hulk or something, the reality-bending might make more sense. Given that his head was all fiery, it might explain the red Hulk's association with flames and glowing eyes, too.

No, it was just that last page. #4 has the big, knock-down, drag-out Christmas fight.

Is there any reason why you chose Zom? Maybe there was an interview or something I missed? I don't think it will have anything to do with Zom. My guess is it will have something to do with Hulk controlling the infrared spectrum... he is already "radiation" whatever that is (light and heat lol). And he emits heat, so my guess is that he will hit on some relativity constraints or something. Light is the only constant. Technically any super-hero that has "flown at light-speed" has already broken reality.

Someone didn't read World War Hulk...

Well, we never really learned what happened to Zom in WWH. He was bonded to Strange and then he was just sort of gone.

Oh, well, I'm sure you could say that about a lot of events. I mean, a lot of stupid things happened in WWH, like the event itself. Sorry. I just didn't like the comic that much. I think Strange really only channeled a bit of Zom's essence. But in an early interview about Red Hulk, the Red Hulk was said to come from the fall-out at the end of the series, between the Sentry, Hulk, and Stark's satellites. Red Hulk is a science creature. A silly science creature. Just what we needed, more characters with built in hax.

Am I the only one who feels like we never got ANY closure to WWH?? I mean after ALL that character progression and storyline, I feel like we're back square one with the Hulk, and there's absolutely no fallout from that event (well other than Skaar, but thats another story). What I'm trying to say is, what the heck was the point of WWH and Planet Hulk??

Well, aside from the Hulk being in prison at the moment, Banner and the Hulk are more in tune now than I think they've ever been other than during the Professor Hulk phase. Planet Hulk gave the Hulk a taste of true happiness and Banner seemed more at peace with the Hulk because of it. Then it all went to hell and both the Hulk and Banner wanted revenge for it. That was WWH. What the hell the red Hulk has to do with it all, I imagine we'll see later on.

I dunno, i feel like this whole Red hulk storyline has nothing to do with WWH or planet hulk. And it seems like Hulk is back to being a dumb creature again. It would be ashame that after all that character progression over the last two years, hulk is back to "Hulk Smash!" mode. I dunno, maybe i'm prejudging, hopefully Loeb proves me wrong, but all i'm saying is that WWH doesnt seem to have anything to do with whats going on right now.

Well the point of planet hulk was to show you just how cool the hulk could be.

And the point of WWH was to make us all reasonable people hate the hulk while giving what basically amounts to hardcore hulk porn to the hulkites.

I agree. Pak does too, coincidentally. His trilogy of Hulk stories was always supposed to be Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, and Skaar: Son of Hulk. Loeb's red Hulk thing is something different tacked onto the end of WWH so that the Hulk's comic wouldn't just follow Banner around his cell every issue, I guess.

Given that it's a return to Planet Hulk-related stuff by Pak, I'm all over it. Garney sweetens the deal exponentially, of course.

I might. It's as much a gimmick as Red Hulk, but the possibility of a Hulk story arc with pace is hard to pass up.
