Yeah, I hate when that happens though. There should be a reason, however stupid, for a complete change in a character's personality.

BTW, I think you're right as far as that stone kid is concerned. I don't think that was Skaar either but it'll probably be explained next issue. I really like how fast everything moves with Pak. So much has already happened in the first issue!

We've just been discussing it in here. There's not a lot of discussion about Skaar in the first place, since I don't think that many people here read it.

If the personality of the Hulk has been static for a long time, I agree. Still, it's not unprecedented for the Hulk to just randomly change. Personally, I still think they should go balls-to-the-wall in that direction and just make Banner manifest a completely random Hulk every time--one issue he's gray, the next he's smarter, the next he's savage and childlike, the next he's the Professor, and so on.

Depending on the writer that would be really badass or really stupid. I guess it was pretty cool in Jenkins' run. Too bad we never got to see the Devil Hulk.

There is a reason in Hulks case.

He's a fractured personalty.

In total we've seen at least 7 different aspects to Hulk's persona.How's to know how many more are to come.

He's a very mentally ill person.

Only he seems pretty normal when he's Banner. That was always a bit awkward to me. I guess that's what multiple personality disorder's like, though.

Thats because its the logical part of his personalty.

Well i dont know if this counts yet, but there is the fact that all of a sudden green hulk is back to his primitive "hulk smash" mode, when we saw hulk/banner in very much control of himself in WWH and intelligent. But in all fairness maybe that will be explained later...

Maybe because his wife and kid weren't just killed again.

He's not super pissed and on another level of hulk. Just the usual Hulk Smash one.

Anyway, back in the day when PAD started on the Hulk and the Hulk was grey, green and smart, or green and savage, there was always an explanation and always should be, IMO. Recently most writers have just made the Hulk whatever personality is easier to write for them and that is dumb to me. It is hard for me to rationalize why Loeb would ignore the characterization used for the Hulk for the past few years with no explanation.

I don't think Loeb's thinking too deeply about anything in the Hulk comic. He's approaching it as a popcorn action story.

Yes but in both cases they were acting with influence of one of the other fractured parts of the many personalties.

In general Banners persona is the logical factor.Its the aniliitacal part of his mind.

The point is there is an explanation.As with real people that suffer with multiple personalties with all the failed attempts to unifi the different personalties the line between each one becomes more blurred and less defined.

With that kind of mental issues in a person you can end up with several different personalities making them selfs present in just a few minutes.

So we could end up seeing the Grey Hulk's personality on page one and then end up with Savage Hulk's personalty by page 5.

So the fact that were seeing different personalties from one story to the next is not unbelievable.

I have to agree. That's basically the reason why I enjoyed Paul Jenkins run so much years ago. There's so many different incarnations of the Hulk that has been created over the years, why not exploit that to the full extent? Especially considering how incredibly lenient Marvel has been over the years with writers on exactly which Hulk incarnation was appearing in various other titles over the years.

You know what I just realized? Clay Quartermain and General Ross are still unaccounted for on the hellicarrier. Wouldn't it be so crappy if one of them was the red Hulk? It could happen too!

Everybody seems to think it's Ross. I'd be pretty surprised if it were Quartermain, just 'cause not many people really know who the **** Clay Quartermain is.

Actually we've seen that there are hundreds, and mixtures of those hundreds meaning there can easily be thousands. We have however only seen like 7 that actually manifest physically.

The only thing is supposedly in the planet hulk that led to the world war hulk story line he learned to tap into his other personalities and was able to change back and forth at will. It seems that all of a sudden he has completely lost all that he learned including his gladotorial fighting skills. Even savage hulk had a memory.
