Official Rulk Thread

You'd be surprised how far a thread can go based on hate alone.

True, I mean, look at the Green Lantern thread, we left and now it's dead.:o

What is it with Hulk and everything happening off panel... that was the problem with WWH... One panel we see the New Avengers, next panel they're all unconscious.

I think it's because they don't want to piss anyone off. It's sad really, because I have to wonder if the same people who hate on this book because of how easily Red Hulk is beating people up, hated on WWH when Hulk pretty much destroyed everyone, I mean Dr. Strange? Really?

The Dr. Strange defeat was not so bad as it seemed Strange gave up himself due to the enormity of the evil he felt he was causing having ingested Zom (not sure that name is right).

The way this red GSC beat the Hulk defeats all "comic book" reasoning. The Hulk has lost all the progress he has made and there is no reasoning behind it especially as it can be seen that banner willfully turns into the Hulk.

Hulk is an established character, a classic ICONIC character. He's earned it. Plus he's gone head to head with a lot of those guys before, pre power-up.

Red Hulk is just the shiny new toy of bad writing, not unlike the Scarlet Spider or the Azreal Batman (Joe Q. again, what a shock), that has literally NO character development other than his skin-color and his laughable feats of in-your-faceness.

Besides, most of the hate comes from the fact that after PH and WWH, Hulk has NO book to himself, and his triumphant return was him acting dumber than ever, crying like a ***** to this "Poochie-the-dog" Red Hulk and getting his ass kicked.

This term gets thrown around a lot these days, but it truly is an epic failure.

The thing is, i think we're all dying to know what exactly is going on in Hulk/bruce banner's head right now after all the events of WWH and PH. He has no book to himself so we cant see that. Hulk is a secondary character right now in his own book. It just pisses me off that they're completely ignoring everything that happened the last two years as they were the most significant in the hulk's life.

Let me axe you something, was Futurama not one of the most awesome shows ever?

I really was eagerly looking foward to the aftermath of WWH and what would become of Banner. I was also looking foward to Pak remaining on the title because, IMO, his work on the Hulk equals, if not surpasses, some of the great contributions made by PAD.

But Loeb's Hulk isn't the worst thing in the world for Hulk. The book is focused on a Red Hulk who is a completely different character than Banner and I am eager to see where this is going.

Loeb could make this a seriously good book if he would just quicken the pace and improve dialogue and action scenes a little. But we're 4 issues in, 4.5 if you count that King Size thing, and we STILL don't know who the red Hulk is or how Rick Jones is A-Bomb. More needs to happen with every issue.

Oh yeah, and do you guys think Hulk will show up in Secret Invasion? Because we all know he isn't a ****ing Skrull and he needs to smash some skrulls.

And what does GSC stand for in "red GSC"? I'm thinking gamma spawned creature?

Yeah, he just had a big event. Although I bet his powers'll show up at some point. On a dirty Skrull.

And one of the biggest cool-factors of Planet Hulk was that everyone KNEW he was going to come back and give the Illuminati some payback and that's awesome.
Actually the best part about Planet Hulk was how Hulk was attaining peace finally, being a just monarch and having a family and people to call his own!

Can't we just say EVERYTHING about Planet HULK made it cool?

Yeah, it was pretty good overall. The Warbound turned out to be a great bunch of characters.

Can't we just say EVERYTHING about Planet HULK made it cool?
actually yes it was a cool series UNLIKE WWH which blew chunks!!! Planet Hulk was more complete with Hulk being enslaved escaping beating down a true tyrant, being crowned king starting a family and the tragedy of it all crashing down on him! MUCH MORE COMPLETE than the Hulk fanboy wet dream WWH was!!!!!

SPLUH!
Have you not seen Benders Big Score and The Beast With a Billion Backs? With these two and the next two movies/tv specials you could kinda say that Futurama is still goin.

I thought of something today. I read Hulk: Gray, The Long halloween, haunted knight, dark victory (all recently) , and today daredevil yellow. These ALL are crazy good reads, and amidst all the good-Loeb I am also reading Hulk which is basically bad-Loeb. So then I hear about Captain America: White (the next Loeb, Sale team up), so I guess I will find out if Loeb's writing career is down for the count or not based on this new book.

The Grey Hulk is the physically smallest of all the Hulk persona's.And a Big Grey guy [or any color] isint all that un-common in the Marvel Universe.

He took on the "alias" after it was publicly believed that the Hulk was killed in an other Gamma Bomb explosion. He also took it as a way to make lots of money while keeping a low profile.

Your a bit incorrect. He was not reverting to Banner when he took the job.It was after it was believed he was killed in a Gamma Bomb explosion by the Leader.

The Banner persona was gone for quite some time after....probebly because of the extra dose of Gamma rays.

The Hulk took the job as a way to make money and keep a low profile while the goverment was looking for him.

Do any of you ever see a time that we would see the Devil Hulk?

I've read, to date, Spider-Man: Blue, Hulk: Gray (not a favorite), and The Long Halloween. I'm willing to give him a free pass in his recent works. I think he still has it in him to write a great story, and after reading about Sale's character-driven approach I'm hoping their team-up on White will prove that.

The Long Halloween is really the only thing that prevents me from writing Loeb off completely. That's the best Batman story I've ever read.

Same here. Ever since I finished reading it I've wanted to read its follow-up Dark Victory. I already have DV #0 that came with my old issue of Wizard.

I read Dark Victory. It's good, but it feels really derivative of TLH to me. Like Loeb figured out he had a winning formula with TLH so he tried to duplicate it, but it comes off as blatantly formulaic.
