Official Rulk Thread

So this is a joke right? Surely the editor at Marvel didn't allow a hack writer to make a flippin novelty act Christmas colored HUlk beat Thor after all the work that went into bringing Thor back with some respect and honor.

I bet the friggin HUlk fanboys all creamed their pants over this little debacle. I hope someone gives Leob a prostate exam with one of those huge Hulk fist toys for writing such a friggin farce.

"The red Hulk smashing Thor's face in with his own hammer is just stupid fun, guys. Lighten the f*** up."

In case you missed it:

After speaking to the council of 12 and top ASSHAT members, it is with a heavy heart I announce that I am withdrawing myself from any further defense of this title. I would like to apologize to Mr. TheCorpulent1 for the actions of Jeph Loeb. You have my support.

It's also a good time to drop the title anyway since Ed McGuinness isn't doing the art for a while starting with #7.

I heard Art Adams is taking over for half the issues because they're splitting it into separate stories following the green Hulk and the red Hulk or something. Meanwhile, Skaar: Son of Hulk reads like a much more interesting Hulk story without even featuring the character.

Art Adams and Frank Cho.

So I have just assumed that Red Hulk is a bad book because in actuality I haven't caught up with WWH, I don't know in what order to read everything, heard bad reviews, and basically haven't had time.
I haven't even gotten to enjoy Herc yet, although I've started to enjoy Skaar a lot.
So is Hulk just really bad writting, or is this Thor fiasco just one major slipup, but everything else has been dandy?
Does the character have potential, or should he be killed off as violently and quickly as possible?

Hulk has essentially just been a glitzy spectacle with almost no substance. The plot is "who is the red Hulk?" but it's not referenced too much. Mostly, each issue just features the red Hulk punching one or more people repeatedly.

I probably should drop it but I'm stickin this one out. It'll be good again guys, you'll see

:(

It wasn't good to begin with, dude. It was just the exact phoned-in crap promised by every ad that preceded it. Even when Darthphere was defending it, he wasn't doing so on the basis that it's good, he was doing so on the basis that it was exactly what it promised to be. It's probably only selling as well as it's been doing because for whatever reason, every blockbuster artist in the industry loves working with Loeb--probably because he lets them do whatever they want, like having the red Hulk trounce Thor with ease.

Well yeah, when I said "good" I didn't mean Iron Fist "good". Silly, mindless, and fun. I guess it's all fun and games until a character you love gets his ass beat on the moon huh?:(

It's the best book Marvel has ever put out in it's entire publishing history.:up::up:

I can't wait for the scene where Professor X tries to give Red Hulk a mental whammy and RH punches himself in the head, sending a mental reverse whammy to that stuck up mutie bastard...putting him back in a wheelchair where he belongs.

That would probably be pretty funny, actually. But only because I don't really give a s*** about Professor X.

this is exactly how i feel about the series... every time i read an issue i just think to myself how stupid this story line is... i plan to stick it out to see who red hulk is just because ive wasted so much time already up to this point...

however i really do like the side by side covers they did for issue #4 with the green and red hulk

As BS as Thor's pwning was, I still love the book :o

Me too. I dont even think Thor's defeat was BS.

i mean; red Hulk studied his opponent, came up with a plan, utilized it, and scored a victory.

Hopefully, there will be a round 2, where Thor comes back using all of mjolner's abilities from the get-go (although i honestly believe green Hulk will be the one who finally stops him)...
