I think I remember reading in someone's post, that the final fight will be Megatron and Optimus Prime.

My question is, does it happen during the night or day?

Looks like daytime so far. Prime is taken out early, though and then it's Sam vs. Megatron.

I've read the script, and I don't remember Prime being taken out early. Spike may have to help kill Megs, but...

MEgatron gets away from Prime and then he is alone with Sam for a bit. Prime isn't killed.

I really liked the script. Seemed a bit short. Not as much characterization as I'd like. Of course this is the first script I've ever read. The action is going to be huge, and I really can't think of anyone better than Bay for that stuff.

I understand the Megatron design now - he is occupied during the whole film in such a way that he doesn't ever need to be in disguise, hence no earthly transformation. In the cartoon I don't remember what his Cybertronian form was. Did we ever see it?

No we saw starscreams and thunder crackers prymiad type jet formations. In the Transformers encyclopedia visual guide Optimus was like hover truck

Well I just read about half the script and it seems this movie looks more like Small soldiers mixed in with lots of crap..........great.

^Small Soldiers was actually a pretty clever movie to be honest. It had some of the in-jokes and stabs at pop culture that Gremlins had, though not enough of it.
