Transformers 340 million. Absoloutely zero chance. That's a transformer fan's pipedream. LMFAO

Hell I have doubts it'll break 200 million. Of course some at the studio are saying that. LOL

Agreeed! I still say that F42 will outgross this movie. I know it sounds crazy now but when it's said and done, I will take the heat for it. People seem more hype for F42 than Transformers, though they are both hyped up movies.

I don't think it sounds Crazy been saying the same thing my self. FF2 has a lot of hype right now I mean it's every where you look.

It should be. I mean, it comes out in just over a week. Transformers is getting a lot of advertising and is everywhere too, and that still has a month to go.

The only problem is Transformers opens on a holiday weekend, yet at the same time it has to deal with Die Hard, the beaches, and a huge second weekend drop off probably near 70%.

I hope Die Hard bombs. That looks like a disgrace to cinema. Horrible story and pathetically fake action.

Transformers may have a huge drop, but it will make more in its opening than FF2 will. It kind of evens it out.

I'm not saying it will happen, but I think it's silly and too early to count out Transformers.

I think Spider-man's domestic performance is indicative of that. Especially when so many predicted it would make over $400 million in the US.

I think Transformers will have a huge opening and than a massive 2nd weekend and 3rd weekend drop. 70% probably considering it's not a holiday weekend in week 2. Die Hard will do good and top 100 million.

I think Transformers will out gross FF2. It has the holiday and it is a fresh franchise (a rarity in this summer).

But, it won't reach the #1 spot. No chance.

Spider-man 2 had no trouble dealing with the July 4th weekend really.

Hey, the Silver Surfer is my second favorite superhero, I just don't see the FF beating Transformers.

Though I am concerned for FF2 for quite a few reasons. Still will be there opening day!

I am disappointed Transformers got stuck with Michael Bay. He will make it suck with some good eye candy.

FF is gonna do just fine and easily surpass the 1st film.

Not saying it won't, but from a quality angle, that is not a huge accomplishment (FF was enjoyable, but far from great), and it should gross more. I have many concerns about the movie, and I am not convinced this will be great or near what it could have been.

I think the fresh Transformers will make more money (though FF2 will probably be better...Bay sucks).

Never saw a Bay film I liked, and I am being honest. Armagedeon, crap. Pearl Harbor, crap. Bad Boys movies, crap. The Island looked about the same to me. He has no idea how to tell a story (I skipped The Island...love McGregor, but hate Bay). He just knows how to make a few things look cool.

^ Do yourself a favor and watch The Island. It's not a typical Bay film and has influences from all the best Sci-Fi films including Blade Runner, Star Wars, Logan's Run, Anthem, Total Recall, etc...

Bad Boy and Pearl were crap to me as well though I thought Armageddon (though ridiculous & had Affleck) was very fun.

For the most part I am with you though I enjoyed Bad boys on a comedy lvl it wasn't very impressive I also liked Pearl harbor. Every other movie he has ever touched though has turned to crap IMO

The movie from the 80's was awesome. Granted, it was a cartoon movie based on a cartoon and a live movie is harder to do, the 80's animated movie was great. But, I grew up on the Transformers also (Spidey and Transformers were my two favs as a youngster).

AD, I will take it under advisement.

I enjoyed Pearl Harbor and Bad Boys. I though The Island was very lame but never really liked any of the influences you listed either saw it sort of fits with my taste I could understand some people enjoying it.

I think Affleck gets a bad rep but I very much like him and respect him I could run down a long list of movies he has done I guess I am just in the Kevin Smith boat on Affleck.

I think if they REALLY HAD to do another transformers movie (which they didn't) they should of made it animated or at least CGI for every thing not live action with actual people on screen.
