I think upon close analysis of the Rachel photo, we can say her cheek was injured and Joker tried to kiss her. The red on her bottom lip and cheek is too strong to be makeup.

Much appreciated :cwink: It appears we've become partners in crime on this thread :oldrazz:

Total updates thus far are as follows:

Point 1

(REF 29)

In this compilation of suit comparisons donated by *BatmanFanatic* we see that Batman is wearing the BB suit.

Point 2

(2A-1 – 2A-2) ----- 00:18
Bruce has taken off his cape (on the sofa), gloves, and arm braces (on the floor) in a seemingly haphazard manner, in contrary nature to the way he usually goes about things, and is sitting in thought in an armchair – the room has next to nothing in it save the few pieces of furniture. He is not wearing his mask/helmet.

Point 3

(3A-1 – 3A-3) ----- 00:22

Batman is dropping down from above onto some sort of vehicle – he’s in a parking garage (REF 25).

Point 8

(8A-1 – 8A-3) ----- 00:41

An overhead shot of Wayne Tower.

(REF 31)

In this map of the Gotham City Rail system, we can see that the only rail line not in service is the one running from Wayne Tower through the Narrows.

Point 11

(11A-1 – 11A-2) ----- 00:46

We see Joker in a cell twiddling his fingers. His hands seem to have a bit of white on them and are pretty messed up looking on a couple fingers.

(11C-1 – 11C-3) ----- 00:49

We see the Joker in a holding cell by himself. There are several other people in a separate cell directly behind his. There are several cops huddled around Joker’s cell and also a table on the left side of the room. We can see Loeb clearly in 11C-3 at the corner of the cell looking at Joker.

We know that Loeb gets killed by Joker at some time by the middle of the movie. There is a rumor that one of Joker's goons in the far holding cell (REF 18 - 21 - in REF 21 you can see goons 3 and 5 clearly) may have a bomb surgically installed into his stomach. If this is true, then it's possible that Loeb is killed in some way by this bomb.

Point 14

(14A-1 - 14A-2) ----- 01:02

A mysterious explosion occurs here. When you compare the building in this shot to the one seen in REF 30, you find they are one in the same. The hanging lights in front of the building are extra indicators of this. The question is - what is this building?

Point 23

(23D-1 – 23D-4) ----- 01:25

Rachel, with a strained and pissed look on her face, knees Joker right in the crotch off-screen. You can see how much Joker rose up off the floor in 23D-2. Rachel backs off and regains a normal standing position with a look of accomplishment on her face. If you look closely at her cheek in REF 23 you'll see a reddish mark on her cheek. This suggests that Joker irritates the skin in some way - he also could have transferred some of his red make-up onto her cheek.

We know that both Bruce and Harvey are at this party at some point due to the on-set footage from NBC here:

[YT]cGj23bOKCqM[/YT]

Point 28

In REF 24 you can see a ramp set up against a a concrete fixture on the roof of the parking garage. See the video below for more (the second half of the vid).

Tumbler breaking through the fixture

Point 31

(REF 22)

We see the helicopter lying in the middle of the street. This appears to be after the semi hits it - if that's the case, the the crew has clearly put the flames out. If this is from before the crash, then we can deduce that the dark markings on the helicopter are either marks from whatever brought it down, or part of the paint job. If it is the latter, then this is an army helicopter - we know that some form of armed forces are in Gotham at some point during the movie (see REF 26 and 27).

Catch you Hypers later :hoboj:

Thanks for posting that video. Wow nolan isnt what i impressioned him to be at all. And Where is Christian Bale from? he sounded like he sorta had an accent.

This is great stuff about the trailer man! I have showed it to so many people and ,(comma) believed i have analyzed every frame of it as concisely as anyone else. Being a film studies student, i can agree with your observation of minute details within this text... but i am weary as most of my colleagues will agree with me that most of the stock assembled for any trailer is "what is available."

It is clear that the prolouge was shot in early april, and just barely made it attached to "I AM LEGEND" IMAX screenings.

Trailers, viral marketing, internet buzz.. etc. have become such a powerful tool for studios to gauge interest in each of their films. Yet, i doubt that Mr. Nolan and Co. had enough footage prior to the second official trailer to account for thier later interviews.

I guess my bottom line feeling is that this film is not as the trailer lets it out to be; focused mostly on the joker. footage of joker "messing" (a more explicit adverb would be appropriate here) things up in chicago was readily available at the time that the trailer must have been cut. (Probably in mid-october). And i dont disagree that this minute and a half of footage has fullfilled my expectations already. But it seems that the meat of this film's character development - including the loyalty towards 'comic batman lore' - is rooted in the details of the shooting outside of the windy city and mostly concerning a one... harvey dent. Does anyone have any info regarding what was shot in the UK?

I believe that we all understand the developments that played themselves out this summer in CHItown, as they were mosltly action sequences depicted within the trailer. (I mean the trailer AND the prolouge are literally ALL chicago Footage) Yet, i am most curious as to what has transpired underneath the hangar across the pond...

thoughts?

LOL, what did you expect Nolan to be like? He's been very well-spoken and thoughtful since the very beginning. Glad to see that becoming a Hollywood blockbuster director hasn't changed that one bit.

Christian is Welsh, but he grew up in England, I believe. He's covering his accent pretty well there, it's naturally much stronger.

Haha, it's funny to listen to him talk in his native tongue. He cusses like a sailor. LOL.

It's nice to see thought out and concise posts on here. Instead of "I wonder what time the 7th trailer is coming out???"

Thanks for the post  It's pretty much confirmed by Nolan himself that Harvey is going to be a very important aspect in the film. It's understood that the footage we've gotten so far covers most of Joker's appearances in the movie. Whatever footage we get in Trailer #3 will most likely include more stuff either about Batman/Bruce or Harvey Dent.

did you guys notice that when bruce is in his penthouse, with the bat-suit on, the cowl, gloves, and gauntlets are on the floor; and the cape is draped over a chair? If the cowl is on the floor, how is it in his hands?

Have a question for you guys: Isn't it custom for most trailers to include footage that is sometimes not used in the final cut? In some of the Batman Begins trailers a lot of the angles of shots of the same scenes were different in the final film. Also, the Prestige trailer had several shots that werent even used in the film. Do you think Nolan threw this trailer together with whatever footage was available at the time just to give the audience a taste?

Thanks for the find - you can barely see it in the shadows

Point 2 - *UPDATED*

(2B-1 – 2B-2) ----- 00:20

Bruce is holding the cowl in his lap and looking at it. During this, he has a look of grief on his face that, due to the level of composure that is required of him to do his duty as Batman, could only mean that something terrible has happened – that it may be something personal. What that horrible thing may be continues to be conjecture.

I've noticed that many trailers from films use footage that isn't used in the film. I've also noticed alot of times that the trailer is no indication on what to expect from the film.

You're putting a helluva lot of work into this. Thanks for your efforts.

Point 25

(25A-1 – 25A-2) ----- 01:31

Batman crashes through a glass door into a hallway with several doors on either side of him. There is a bluish light in the background.

I believe, based on set reports, that this is an entrance into a Gotham Rail station that he crashes through. This was filmed at Chicago's Union Station (rail).

In a recent interview on Fox, and I believe on Larry King Live as well, Eric Roberts gave us a little info on a particular scene in TDK.

He said that Joker is blackmailing Maroni's mob for some reason - he has quite a large speech, according to Roberts.

This may tie in to my suspicions for the reason that Joker robs the mob bank in particular in the beginning of the movie - I think that the blackmailing scene works almost directly into this event although it will most likely not occur immediately after.

It would seem that Joker wasn't stealing the money just to do it but that it served a purpose in getting something else accomplished - he basically "holds the money hostage", as Lucha put it, and makes the mob go after Batman (according to the Larry King interview).

EDIT: here's the video from Fox:

i believe it was stating somewhere that the joker "holds the money hostage." he takes all the money from the mob and he wants a cut of it. i would imagine he wants them to try and kill batman or something like that. i don't know but that scene sounds really cool with the speech to the mob. i still can't wait to see this movie.

Yep

It'll be one hell of a ride, to be sure.

We can only speculate what that something is at this point.

In the Larry King interview he told King why he was blackmailing.

He blackmailed the mob, so that they all would tackle Batman.

I'm looking forward to that scene now. I really hope none of Heath's scenes are cut.

If the studio wants to keep their integrity intact (and their asses safe), they're not going to do anything different than they would have if Heath was still alive.

The only thing that will change is the way they present the advertising. It won't change much, but they'll have to choose their words carefully in such a sensitive situation.

Everything should end up alright despite these tragic events.
