What's the word with the whole 48 fps element? Have enough theaters actually upgraded to that level yet or by december?

I remember the critics previews were not very flattering for how it looked. I wonder if jackson jumped the gun with that tech?

In a mere handful of posts a few of you seem to have come to the conclusion that Jackson is planning to milk the hobbit train all the way from here to Mordor, madly cackling as he wrings every last bit of life from the source material that he can, when in actuality all he's said is that they're looking at shooting some extra material over a period of a few weeks.

It's not about being negative. It's about viewing every single detail in the most pessimistic light possible when you really don't have a lick of solid information to base those feelings on. It's about calling the production 'sad' and 'garbage' and other silliness that entitled internet fanboys always resort to when they feel something isn't going their way. Pete could very well be simply planning some extra material for an extended edition, but the internet doesn't care! They're certain he's digging up Tolkiens corpse and pissing on it in the name of the almighty trilogy and by God they aren't going to let him get away with it!

Anyway, nobody's singling you out and mostly it's late and I'm tired.

It would be odd to have a three part Hobbit. I'm all for more Jackson Tolkien/Middle-Earth films but a trilogy entitled "The Hobbit trilogy" just doesn't seem right.

I'm glad this film is a two parter now. We don't want to end up with a bloated, contrived and messy film with more plotholes than you can count like some other film released recently.

Dale looks so effing great, love it. But maybe a bit too much "Mediterranean" looking...

And I can't wait to see the army of Dwarfs in action. That's one thing that The Hobbit has over LotR... kewl Dwarf warriors.

Love the production videos; Peter Jackson is very generous with these and it always reminds you of the epic scale of these movies.

Enough additional shooting that they're actually toying with the idea of making a third movie. That's somewhat troubling to me, for reasons previously given.

Amazing blog, thorin marching with the dwarven army I guess that has to be part of the battle of five armies. The armor of the dwarf army looks beautiful. There's also a small spoiler in there,[BLACKOUT]Legolas seems to be carrying Orcrist strapped to him he this is probably right after he takes it from thorin[/BLACKOUT] And I can't wait to see what Lee pace looks like as Thranduil.

I believe it is the giants that live on the misty mountains, they are referenced in the book,
