Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to rip it from the app.

Thanks for those.

They all look great, but the Dwarf that looks entirely human apart from a bad wig sticks out like a sore thumb. Amongst the others, he looks like an extra for a big battle scene who was spared the makeup job.

If it was decided that one Dwarf needed to be conventionally handsome, they should still have given him a full beard. This just doesn't look right.

Yeah i was just about to point that out as well, i've been noticing that for a while now. I find it interesting how who i'm assuming is the leader dwarf or "hero" dwarf had to be more human looking compared to the rest.

It's almost like they thought the audience would not relate to someone who doesn't have traditionally handsome features, while everyone else gets the standard dwarf eccentric fearures.

I wonder how many more months it will take for people to get over how the dwarves look. I mean, yes, they're not 100% faithfull of how dwarves should look. But... keeping complaing about it isnt gonna do squat, and it's the same complain over and over again. Just learn to live with it, it aint gonna change.

Why don't you ask regwec and Bruce Malone directly, since you were referring their posts.

So basically you are saying you can't stand people complaining? While you yourself are complain about their complaining?

I think Dwalin is going to be my favourite among the dwarves! I mean he just looks so completely badass with his head tattoo and scar over the eye :word:

Yes I'm referring to those posts, but it is also more of an open question, because this is a factor that exists in more places than just here on SHH.

People complain, it's a part of life, you can't change it!

I'm not complaining i don't have a particular vested interest in it really. It's just something i've noticed. Like i said it seems film makers in general have a habbit of making the hero character the most handsome or in this case human looking.

Which again not a complaint is a bit confusing for the film, as not being familiar with the books i had actually assumed he was a human character and not a dwarf untill i dug a little deeper.

I'll complain about whatever I like, but thanks anyway.

In fact, I don't mind the more "eccentric" or cartoony looking Dwarves; my objection is to the boy-band reject with a fourteen year old's attempt at a beard. He doesn't look even slightly Dwarven, and that's stupid.

Hopefully, the film will at least address the issue. Maybe he is in disgrace and has been made to shave off his beard? Maybe he lost a bet.

Doesn't explain the nose job and the Spinal Tap mullet, though.

He's our prince charming love interest in the story, a Aragorn rip off who falls in love with the elf Tauriel. He's shaven because he's the good looking Dwarf the ladies in the audience will swoon over. At Comic Con Philippa Boyens said that Fran Walsh and her told Peter that there there will be good looking Dwarves and men in this film. That the story was to male centric, there needed to be something for the ladies.

Are Luke Evans and Orlando Bloom not enough?

I would rather they wrote in a new character as lady-bait, rather than try to turn something that is as conceptually unsexy as a Dwarf into a heart-throb. It seems forced, and absurd.

R-Patziel the unnecessary Elf would be preferable to Bumfluff the effeminate Dwarf-boy.

That's an old picture that was posted a while back.

Now that we know that the first film will end on the eagles rescuing them, I feel confident in saying there's no way it will be a three hour film.

I'm not sure. We need plenty of time to develop all of those Dwarf romance plot threads that we are so looking forward to.

I wonder if we'll see him go swimming with little hairy women?

It's what people do when they have nothing to add but want everyone to know they're still around.

Hah! Rank hypocrisy always tickles me.

I love that pic of Gandalf. Always loved Gandalf as my fave Wizard and he still is to this date. :D :) Anyone play LOTRO??? I have been playing it for a month now.

I'm sorry that I find it disturbing that events that actually take place in the freakin' book are being pushed back a year in favor of the White Council, Seige of Dol Guldur, the history of the dwarves, and other copious amounts of fan-fiction - and therefore resulting in a cliffhanger ending that brings absolutely no sense of conclusion or shift in Bilbo's character.

Finding out that Beorn and Thranduil won't be in this film three months beforehand hurts like a mother****er, and I'm incredibly annoyed. I'd take seeing those two over all of the appendices material all day every day.
