I've always been partial to this track, which Shore made specifically for the credits of the Return of the King EE. It's called Bilbo's Song, so I wonder if they'll find a way to incorporate this in The Hobbit?

Love, love, LOVE this trailer. The first ever trailer for LOTR.

Pretty much all the trailers are incredible. The choice of music that plays in them is always great.

EDIT: Apparantly this is the first ever trailer. The other one is the first with only footage.

I love what they did after the 3rd film came out where they did the super trailer of all three films.

I remember that one. Great trailer.

And Kane, you should go back into that LOTR tribute with Lincoln Park's "The Little Things That You Give Away" set to it. That could be one hell of a video.

Ahh right, that might be my next video after I finally get some time to finish my Batman Begins/The Dark Knight video.

Since Michael Fassbender literally has over a dozen films he's attached to, how about Joel Edgerton for Bard? Hes from Animal Kingdom and the upcoming Warrior with Tom Hardy. Also he was the second in the running for the role in The Bourne Legacy but lost to Jeremy Renner...

That guy just screams bland to me. Just looking at him he seems bland as hell. I haven't seen his work (a bit unfair I know), but jeez, he looks so uninteresting.

I think he is in one of those snow white films coming out, so he'll likely be busy as well.

Edgerton will not be in any of the upcoming Snow White movies. But he's going to film Kill Bin Laden and The Great Gatsby this year, so yes he's busy.

Some more Hobbit casting news today. As we near the end of our first shooting block (we have a break in less than three weeks to get some editing and visual effects work done, plus prepare for very big scenes coming up), we are looking at characters featuring in sequences that take place a little later in the story.

We are thrilled to confirm that Stephen Fry will be playing The Master of Laketown. I've known Stephen for several years, and we're developing a Dambusters movie together. In addition to his writing skills, he's a terrific actor and will create a very memorable "Master" for us.

The Master's conniving civil servant, Alfrid will be played by Ryan Gage. Ryan is a great young actor who we originally cast in a small hobbit role, but we liked him so much, we promoted him to the much larger Alfrid part.

Last, and certainly not least, is Conan Stevens, who will be playing an Orc called Azog (orcs are never called Roger or Dennis for some strange reason). And yes that's his name - Conan! Isn't that cool? Azog is played by Conan! Here's a photo of Conan and I together ... I'm pretty tall ... probably at least 6'5" or 6'6" I would guess, so that gives you some clue how tall Conan is! You can learn all about him at www.conanstevens.com.

Got a busy day's shooting ahead, so I'm about to jump in the car - but look out for the beginning of the 20 questions answers very soon. Thanks for the questions - many are very insightful. I've been through all of them and have a list ready to go.

Cheers,

Peter J

How long is the actual shoot? Maybe Fassbender can slide in Hobbit early next year.

So I guess they're going to recast Drogo Baggins then.

Also, this "Alfrid" character was mentioned on the same casting sheet as Itaril. I guess that pretty much confirms we'll be getting the elf warrior-princess - with or without Ronan.

Still, Stephen Fry as the Master is full of win.

Christ, it's been so long since I read the book. Who is the Master of Laketown?

**** yeah for Stephen Fry joining this films as the Master of Laketown.

And Conan Stevens A.K.A 'The Mountain That Rides' playing an orc is a perfect fit.

Once Peter is on break, I'm sure we will get another video blog.
I also believe due to Kili's recasting, they kinda had to scrap some of the footage thy have shot for the blog.

FILI WAS RECAST. NOT KILI.

YOU CALL YOURSELF A FAN? GET IT RIGHT!! :cmad: :cmad:
