Superman Returns Official Theatrical trailer Crowd reaction report thread

MI3 didnt get the trailer in new zealand

I went to see M:I:3 last night and it was the first trailer up, everyone went very quiet and there was definately some buzz afterwards, i think people are starting to get excited for this movie.

The interesting thing about the posts on this thread is that if you look at each members past posts you will see that the ones that heard a positive reaction to the trailer have always been huge supporters of the movie and the ones that heard a negative (or silent) reposnse have always been against the movie (just click on scooter and you will see what i mean). Makes you wonder how biased the perceived reactions are.

undoubtedly. I just dont understand when people are like "I heard no reaction. We do not laugh, cry, cheer, or clap at our trailers in Tasmaran, Bulgaria. If we do, the managers let the starved rats loose on the audience".

Just because you dont have the same audience reactions doesn't mean it's true anywhere else. You just go to a quiet theatre, with evil hungry rats and Managers that hate noises.

There really wasn't any sort of noticeable reaction to the Superman Returns trailer in my local cinema when it screened before M:I:III.

However, a couple of trailers later we had the teaser for The Simpsons movie, and that draw quite a strange and surprising response.

That teaser opens on a close-up shot panning around the Superman "S" shield on Homer's t-shirt. Some mumblings began, and a child sitting near me curiously said to his parent "Superman?"

I couldn't shake the impression that seeing the familiar, traditional bright red, blue and yellow of that shield somehow struck the audience more immediately as being "Superman" than the Superman Returns trailer which had only just preceded it, and actually excited them more.

I went last night ,and the trailer appeared right before MI3! You guys would be proud of me;I cheered, clapped, and shouted for the trailer. It seemed to encourage others to do the same. I can't wait for June 30th!

I don't think my theater is showing the trailer. I'll ask though.

Well, this isn't a crowd reaction (more like a two person reaction). I showed it to my best friend and he definitely liked it! Which is cool because he isn't a big fan of Superman at all.

I also wanted to show it to my girlfriend. She didn't even give it a chance, she didn't want to watch the trailer (she still hasn't)! She thinks Superman is lame. :(

It wasn't really a reaction where I was. M I 3 had a some what disappointing opening, it wasn't very many people in the theater last night.

I saw MI3 friday and they didnt show it. I was pissed, but im going to see posieden now b/c im sure the trailor looks even more bad @$$ in the theatre.

What are you talking about? They use the returns colors in the Simpsons teaser. The only one that is different is the yellow which is 'Simpsons yellow'

I was under the same assumption, Returns Red, Returns Blue, & Simpsons Yellow.

Careful, there might be Bulgarians on the forum that could take this the wrong way ;)
AFAIK, they DO cheer in Bulgaria btw.

Well I saw Mission Impossible 3 today,a VERY good movie by the way.

AS for the reactions to the trailer, there were a couple claps after it played.

When i saw MI:3 this weekend, they showed the trailer, seemed to be more buzz for the Simpsons and Xmen then Superman. There was chatter after the first 2, and after superman, it was just quiet, and a few teenagers booed, but then they cheered when Tom Curises wife gets shot in the head in the beginning over the movie too..lol

People that want to see MI:3 will thank you for the spoiler :D

Saw MI:3 in Huddersfield, England on Saturday. No Superman Returns trailer, though they did have the Simpsons trailer.

I was gutted as I wanted the girlfriend to see it.

its not in the uk i think

so very limited trailer release not even the big bang people expected and now not much of a reaction?

Wow, WB marketing strike again... they really are pressing good avertising for this film aren't they?

Don't bother man Desk posts here to post **** like that about the Movie & thinks there is nothing positive about it at all. Desk has already made his decision about the Movie

I assume the rest of the world has to wait for an international teaser then.

^we have the theatrical trailer here in Denmark, so other countries in the EU most have it too...

Well, I guess people´s bias can always be a factor to their reaction... I remember people describing more positive reactions to the Batman Begins theater trailers, and the support for that movie was a lot more unanimous on the boards than the one for SR.
