OFFICIAL: Theatrical Trailer Thread

Yes she does manipulate objects with her mind. What the hell do you think she's been doing for the last 40-fricking years?????

If she wants to move a candlestick from one end of the room to the other she has to encase it in a field and move it mentally. If she has five suitcases and doesn't want to carry them all, she has to create platforms of invisibility under the luggage to tote them along. Ditto for when she glides through the air--she is moving objects (in this case, her body) psionically.

Susan Richards' powers are clearly a form of teke. I can't believe you would suggest otherwise.

Jean Grey manipulates objects. When she moves objects or stops objects she's controlling the actual mass. Sue's powers if anything are closer to Cyclops' than Jean's. Sue, like Scott is projecting energy. But while Scott's powers are blunt, Sue's are more refined. When she moves objects forward or backward, she's only expanding and contracting her force field. She isn't actually touching the object.

I am glad that you can smile now princess of power.

I like the trailer....yet, I still say I wish we could have the Surfer without pupils. I think that would look so cool. I also think the Surfer should show more emotions of wonder and pathos on his face than the anger it seems he has alot of. This combination of things, I thought, always gave him a semi divine detachment. Almost onto a god. No eyes and a more advanced emotional state. Kind of like Gary Lockwood's look in "Where No Man Has Gone Before", the second Star Trek pilot.

As far as I can tell, he doesn't have pupils. He does have irises though. So far, we've only seen SS in a few scenes, most of them action. There's supposed to be a rather lengthy scene between him and Sue so I'm sure we'll see more emotions then.

>^^<

Ok. Anyone have a link where it can be downloaded from ? Give me the link, and noone gets hurt. :woot:

Trailer was brilliant!!! Some great looking visuals in there.

I liked the trailer. It was just awesome. It looks like they improved alot since the original.June 15th is too long of a wait for me.

Okay that trailer was BADA&$!

This movie might make up for the first.

Awesome trailer!

SUPER SKRULL ****IN ACTION! Who needs a green alien when you can make the Human Torch a SUPER SKRULL! **** YEAH!!! Great way of the director re-interpreting the Super Skrull. Sure I would have liked the Super Skrull or Skrulls in a FF4 movie, but it's unlikey and would seem like "V" the 80s sci-fi tv movie show. The Torch with a Thing fist - just brilliant...I can't see how this movie can be bad - all the trailers have been so good...

The Thing/Torch power switch does seem very appropriate to the comic. As I remember reading the comic as a kid, I feel like their powers were always being tampered with or getting screwy. For example, I loved the storyline of Thing turning into Spikey Thing....

Trailer looked good. Sue was hot.

Just watched it again. And once again. :wow: WOW. :woot: :hyper: This movie is soooooooooooo going to top the 1st one. The sets, the matting, everything looks sharp. The Tourch Thing exchange scene. That's going to be a riot. The voice of the Surfer just fits. It's soft, but firm. Just like the Surfer's personality. Action, action, action, action. As Doc Ock said in Spider-Man 2. " Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seat belts" This film is going to move. Is it June 15th yet ?

I cannot wait to see the battle between Doctor Doom and Silver Surfer!!!

I didn't really like the trailer. I think that this is going to be a lot more like FF1 than we all originally believed. I thought the thing with Johnny and Ben's powers switching was pretty dumb, and I think it completely goes against the epic feel that Story promised fans.

To the person who said that the Fantasticar wouldn't split...

...well, I don't remember who said that, but... HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE SO WRONG? HAHAAHAHHAHA!!!!

It's Fantastic Four. You can't NOT have that sort of stuff happening at all. I don't see why a movie can't be epic and have humorous moments/scenes in it as well. Besides, I thought the Johnny/Ben stuff was one of the things that people thought Story got most right in the first film?

I'm not saying that you can't dislike the trailer, just that they are actually drawing from the comics for this stuff and trying to be more faithful than in the first movie.

Well, something similar happened in the comics (but not during the SS arc)... and you have to thank Lee & Kirby for that! They're sticking to the classics... sort of.

I actually think the pupils are a good idea and I'll use your very example to explain why. That Star Trek episode, when you look at the guy he looks blind, and you have no point of reference to where or what he is looking at.

Giving him pupils allows them to give more emotion to the character than a blank gaze. For a CG character this is extremely important. In the comics it doesn't matter because you're dealing with two dimensions. In the real world someone without pupils appears blind.

I think it was a good change, and I think will go down with Gollum as another great WETA digital creation.

Well.....ok......ummmm.

ok

The Surfer is looking very cool. Nice clean CG. A marked improvement over the teaser.

The torch continues to look good as well. I also like that the Fantasticar is silver as opposed to the gold color first shown.

The rest of the trailer looks okay, but no wows.

no wows? How about a mountain range collapsing and Surfer swating missles like darts? This trailer kicked major @$$!

But not really showing Doom...I think thats a mistake...the mere image of him would ehance that preview so much more...and to the general public who aren't aware that Doom is back...imagine the reaction people would get if they just had one reveal shot....I just gave myself goosebumps. :cwink:

I guess that's your opinion, but Johnny and Ben switching powers is completely in line with the humor in the comics.
